Desolation falls, a lamenting hush against the cloying moonlight. Tall grasses sway to the cadence of a rhythmic breeze. It is still and eerie and full of twilight ambience. He should be resting, but the titan is here; prowling the glades, unable to rest. He finds reprieve in hunting, in filling his mind with the thoughts of violence and bloodshed. Eagerly, Harou roams, scouting the lands up ahead of him, eager to pick up the fresh trail of prey. There is something out here, breathing between the sheets of shadow and moonlight, and Harou is eager to find it. Hunt it.

Stretching out across the glade, it was so easy just to melt into the soft hush of the area. Everything about it was quiet except the faint rustle of the grasses around her. She couldn't be sure what they were but the motivation to get up from her nap was little to none, leaning on none. Every inch of her body was far too comfortable but even so, the movement got louder and she realized that there was no chance that she was going to be able to return to the nap.

Awakened and not enraged by the disruption, she slowly lifted herself up onto her legs and gazed around quietly. Searching for the sound of the individual that had ruined what was likely supposed to be a very good dream nap. Zelda would like to stick it to whatever creature had decided that their romping around was more important.

Ever-destined was she to provide for her pride, even if it drove her further from the Summit. Not that Caltáriel entirely minded. Winter had taken its brutal grip on the mountain, and though her fur had plushed out and grown well for the winter, it were not quite enough to bite it back to comfort. Long had the rolling golden hills of her homelands softened her, and though she were keen on the scents and tracks that lead from the distant ranges to here, the bitter winter wind still caused her to shiver.

As fate would have it, two familiar scents accompanied the prey she had been tracking; their shared efforts last time had not gone unnoticed or unwanted, and thus when @Zelda's form appeared on the distant horizon, Caltáriel was content to abandon her tracking to catch up to the woman. What do you think's on the menu today? she asked cheerfully, a friendly smile unfurling onto her lips. Clearly, the woman had just woken up from a nap; whether or not she was grumpy was not a thought that had crossed the Illyrian's mind.

another day, another hunt.

orrr, well, another night. their paths seem to keep crossing when the moon is full and the world is dark and quiet — it adds to harou’s whole spooky vibes. and, truly, the little wolf prince is intrigued. maybe he’ll grow up to have such cool vibes like that. he’s busy thinking of this and more instead of, you know, doing anything productive — surely there are things back at the summit he could be working on, but… nahhhh. it’s time for another nighttime hunt, a midnight snack just the thing to soothe him tonight. joining them quietly, quicksilver eyes are alert as he looks for what they'll be hunting. hopefully something yummy.

It's not often that Adrien chooses to linger so far from home at such a late hour. Then again, perhaps it was not so much a choice as it was something that had simply happened. The glade looks particularly beautiful when the rolling grass shines silver beneath the light of the moon. One might even call it spellbinding.

The peace she's found herself is disrupted, however, when a ghostly pale man sweeps past, his features set in a way that suggests he is on a mission. The noblewoman lifts her head then, nostrils flaring against the cool breeze to find that, yes, there was the scent of some sort of prey animal lingering on the near horizon.

It is late, and she should be heading home. But perhaps offering her aid would be the only polite thing to do?

Celestia sped through the lands once again, wondering if she could somehow go fast every time. She entered a lovely glade, noting the plant life and how lush and lively it all was. She began to slow down when she noticed the scent of other lions nearby. The woman slowed to a jog and then finally a walk. Her paws smushed the green grass underneath her fur. She also realized that the scent of prey was nearby too. She smirked and stalked through the glade, finally finding the individuals that had gathered. Two men and two women, one of the males was only a yearling. One woman was also from the Oasis and the other two lions were from the Summit. She offered them a friendly nod as a silent greeting.

the faces are familiar: she's started seeing them in multiple hunts that @Harou ♔ has been calling and as she approaches this one, she actually pauses to greet them. her chin dips in a silent hello, a paw lifted in an aborted step as @Caltáriel chirps a pleasant hello to the disgruntled @Zelda who looks like she just rolled to her feet from slumber. the youth, @Virgil, draws her attention firmly for a moment as she glances between him and harou, lips turning down into the smallest hint of a frown. were she to know the royal's thoughts, she might have chased him from the gathering with barred fangs. to want to be anything like the heart was a curse, truly. @Celestia is another familiar face, one easy to remember with her brightly patterned body and she inclines her head in another wordless greeting. @Adrien is the unfamiliar one among them, but she's welcomed all the same: sheol is happy to spend time with others, after so long under the thumb of bjorn.

she's bold this evening, finding her place at harou's side - matching him step for step as he readies himself to shred whatever prey they find. for a long moment she says nothing but even when she does her eyes are still trained in the shadowy blackness beyond where they stand: you're a glutton. for how many creatures had he destroyed, now? how many hunts where he spilled blood to the earth and took only a mouthful before departing? it was not hunger for food that drove these hunts, but hunger for ruination. a running theme, that.

Here, tonight, @Sheol is bold. She's fearless. Her words fall like silk to his ears as she comes by his side, and Harou grins, wickedly. You're a glutton, she says. Harou says back to Sheol, "And you're gorgeous." But Harou does not linger for long, and he's gone, leaping after their prey. When it finally ends, it's a wealth of blood and broken bones staining the floor. Harou tugs at the fleshy hide and visercal membranes, for awhile, but he doesn't consume the prey. He's not hungry, he's doing this for sport. Nodding once to Sheol, he flashes her a quiet goodbye, before disappearing into the darkness to continue his scouting mission.

Something good I hope, she murmured to the strange (but very pretty) lioness (@Caltáriel) that apparently thought that she of all lions was approachable. Not that she wasn't but normally folks saw her aloofness and kept their distance. Not only the pale lady but another grey lioness (@Sheol) also saw the opportunity to wordless express a greeting. Zelda chuffed back, not wishing to be impolite but otherwise confused by the sudden making of friends.

The hunt was a long and arduous event that Zelda had not entirely planned for. Or at the very least, was surprised by how exhausted she still was from her previous nap. Once the kudu was too exhausted to put up much more a fight and they ended its struggle, Zelda wobbled her way to the outskirts of the glade. Far from the piece of prize that they had gathered. Instantly finding a nice bed of still-green grass and flopping herself on top of it. Truly there had never been a better feeling when laying down to get cozy into for a nice, unexpected nap. Revisiting what she had started as she sprawled herself amongst its chilled blades and letting the sun send her to her slumber. exit zelda
