The efforts of a certain member of the pride had not gone unnoticed by the queen. A huntress had been very proactive on leading hunts for the pride, and had definitely been pulling her weight and then some since she had arrived within the Brook a little while back. Tucking her children safely within the den, Cassandra made her way towards the clearing at the center of the Brook.

A soft roar left the Queen as she called for @Raizel. She figured her call would be a bit unexpected, but she wanted to let the pink lioness know that her efforts were being noticed and that she wasn't flying under the radar in any way. As it was, the young lioness already knew what she planned to offer to Raizel if she heeded her summons at all.

After being a part of several hard hunts with multiple large hunting parties around the lands, Raizel had been resting in her den for the moment. She had been busy plotting new cache locations for her planned future hunts. There were several etched markings in the ground of her den based on her mapping of the lands from her memory. She was planning to do an open hunt sometime soon when she heard a familiar call. This time, specifically for her. Flicking her ears, Raizel went to answer @Cassandra. Grabbing a piece of giraffe meat from one of her latest hunts that she had stuck in a nearby cache, she carried it in her mouth as she went to answer the call. Wondering what was going on, the pink lioness made her way to the clearing where the High Sovereign was at and smiled when she saw the chocolate lioness. Setting down the chunk of meat on the ground near Cassandra, she spoke, "Hello. How are the cubs doing?" Shifting to sit down, she waited for an answer.

She would not be kept waiting long before the pink huntress would appear, with an unexpected gift clasped within her jaws. The chunk of giraffe would be played next to her, and she would give @Raizel a thankful not of her head. She would ask about the cubs, and Cassandra would glance in the direction of her den with a loving gaze. "Growing quicker than I’d like." She said with a chuckle as she thought about how they were growing quickly and becoming more rambunctious by the day.

"You’ve been settled into the Brook alright? Your efforts in helping the pride fill the caches have not gone unnoticed, and I’ve been glad to see you taking such a lead role in helping out the pride lately." Cassandra said, knowing exactly what she would be offering the pink lioness in their conversation today. Cassandra was glad to know that Raizel seemed to have settled into the Brook well enough and that she seemed comfortable in the pride. That was always her hope for anyone who joined the pride.

As the gift was presented and acknowledged by @Cassandra, the piece of giraffe meat was one that she was glad she decided to bring back. It was a sizable chunk and should feed the High Sovereign and her family. "Soon they'll be exploring the Brook and I'm more than happy to show you some of the caches that I dug so they have something to practice on."

Smiling, her ears perked up as she then listened to the other lioness speak more. "Oh, most definitely. I've met a number of the pride and they have all been welcoming. I've been grateful for their help in the pride hunts out of the territory that I've been calling. It's a nice feeling to have a pride that works together." Filling the caches was a group effort but she had been going on outside hunts with hunting parties all over the island. Practice did make perfect after all.

She still couldn't believe how lucky she was to have 5 healthy cubs - considering the events of the first litter she and her husband had had... it truly was a blessing to have 5 healthy cubs growing like weeds. "Growing too fast in my opinion." Cassandra said with a chuckle. "Sometimes I wish they stayed little longer so I could dote on them and protect them from the horrors of these lands longer." She said, her voice trailing off as she spoke.

"I'd be glad to be seen these caches you've made." Cassandra added on, flicking an ear as she spoke. She was glad to head that @Raizel had settled well into the Brook since she'd joined. "I actually called for you with a purpose in mind. I've noticed you leading quite a few hunts for the Brook. And your work and efforts have not gone unnoticed." The Brook Queen began, knowing where she was going with her statement.

"I would like to offer you the position of Lead Hunter within the pride. I've noticed you being proactive with leading hunts and making sure the caches are full, and I wanted to make sure you were aware that it wasn't going unnoticed by offering you the position if you wanted it." Cassandra said, not sure if the pink lioness would accept the position she was offering her.

As the High Sovereign talked about how quickly the cubs had been growing, the pink lioness nodded slowly. She had no cubs of her own but she was aware of how quickly they could grow up. "I've placed multiple caches within the pride lands and just on the outskirts in the Grove." Her ears perked up as @Cassandra acknowledged the work that Raizel had been doing and she listened carefully. A rank was offered and the Ranger pondered for a moment before nodding slowly. "I'd be honored. I enjoy hunting and being able to help provide meals for the pride." Growing up, this was a skill she had to learn and it hadn't been easy due to her coat color but that didn't stop her from trying.

"Once they're older and more sure of themselves, you can show me where these caches are so that I can start introducing them to where the caches for the pride are - and maybe start practicing hunting." Cassandra said with a polite smile. The hunk of giraffe had gone ignored for the time, but she didn't want to be rude and eat while holding a conversation with the pink lioness.

It would seem her offer of bumping the lioness to Lead Huntress of the pride was not an offer that would be turned down. @Raizel would accept the position gracefully, saying she'd be honored and that she enjoyed helping provide meals for the pride. "There's no expectation to remain in the rank. If you feel like you don't want the position anymore, don't hesitate to come talk to me about it and we can figure it out." Cassandra said, wanting to make certain that the brighter lioness was aware that there was no requirement to remain within the position if she didn't want it anymore.

At the mention of the cubs getting older and learning about the cache, Raizel nodded slowly to the High Sovereign. "Understandable. I could help gather up some small animals for them to practice on when you think they are ready." The pink lioness was slightly taken aback by the next set of words that @Cassandra spoke and shook her head slowly. "I do not see myself stepping down unless it was to be taken away. Hunting is a part of my life. A skill that I worked hard on since I was young. Back home, I was always told I would never be a good hunter because of how I look. But I took on that challenge and it helps me provide for my friends here in the Brook." She had no family in these lands and the High Sovereign was the closest thing to something like family.

"I have little doubt that they will be feisty once they're running around." Cassandra said with another soft chuckle. They already seemed pretty boisterous as it was. Having 5 of them to keep tabs on made life difficult sometimes, but she wouldn't change anything in the world for those 5 blessings that had been bestowed upon her and her husband.

"I have no reason to take ranks away unless something happens that requires it, so as long as you keep up with your duties I have no problem with keeping you in the position." The Brook Queen said, flicking an ear as she spoke. She would see very little reason for removing @Raizel from the position of Lead Huntress until she started to slack on her duties. And then she'd talk to her before actually removing her from that position.

"My daughter, Eisa, seems to be taking a vested interest in hunting. Perhaps the pair of you could co-lead some hunts occasionally? She's brightly-colored, and is starting to sprout a jet black mane." Cassandra said, describing her brightly jeweled daughter for more ease of Raizel knowing who she was.

Talking about the cubs growing up and being a handful, she simply nodded. She didn't have any cubs and had never really grown up around them. At the mention of Raizel not being removed from the position unless she slacked on her duties, she nodded again. "That is completely understandable. The rank comes with responsibility and I plan to uphold that." Hunting was truly an art that she enjoyed doing and she had no problems helping out the pride in making sure bellies were full. With the added responsibilities, Raizel knew she had to keep up on the pride hunts which wasn't a problem for her. Then her ears perked up at the mention of a lioness she remembered. "Oh, I know her. We did a hunt not long ago. She did very well on the hunt and I appreciated her help." Smiling lightly, she added, "I wouldn't mind doing some co-hunts with her."
