Magda had spent some time in the lagoon, went on a few hunts with the pride. She had yet to learn all of their names or even converse with most of them, but Magda had a goal here. Making allies was necessary to this goal, but so was a rank.

The she-devil didn’t see much point in loitering around and waiting to be noticed. Long ago, the Dragos woman had been taught that if she wanted something she should just take it. There was little risk without reward, and the shadowed woman saw little risk in her decision here today. Either she’d be awarded what she intended to fight to earn, or she wouldn’t. And if the latter was the case, Magda would simply try again.

Padding to a particularly flat portion of the territory, she’d let out a call for @Tiamat and any others that wished to be present or step up against her. It was time to test her mettle.

Setting her defenses carefully, the sorrel-hued beast would lower her crown to cover her throat. Jaws parted while claws slipped from their sheathes to gain as much traction on the sandy floor as possible. Ears tucked against her skull whilst tail swayed at her hocks.

The yearling could not deny the brief moment of excitement as she considered being the opposing challenger to the call. To test this @Magda out for all she worth in the idea of being a "higher" rank within the pride. However, it only took seconds to realize that even if Noble as of a higher rank, it gave little perks to her specifically. Being a lead medic gave her a more knowledgeable look and that was what she wanted. Being recognized as a lead medic made her feel a lot more important than being a Noble would, even if the perks of that rank sounded fun.

So instead, she was happy to move off towards the challenge with the intent to watch and carry herbs. Not that she expected to use any since this lioness wouldn't have a lot of lions to contest her. From what she knew, there was one other lioness that might want to take them up on the challenge. If she would show, it remained to be seen.

While she arrived and almost admitted a good luck, it was deafened and never made it onto her tongue for an exit.

It took the queen a few minutes to arrive after Roxana called for her. @Carina was already there, sitting to the side and watching with eyes that Tiamat knew would be drinking in everything that happened when a fight finally did begin.

And there would have to be a fight.

She chuffed a greeting to the purple yearling before approaching the challenger. "If no one comes, you will fight me," she informed Roxana. Caelum had yet to show. If he did, then Tiamat would likely have him fight instead, if only because he was the other noble and therefore would be a good test for one who aspired to hold the same rank.

In the meantime - she would not wait too long to take the place of any challenger - Tiamat studied the woman's form. She had already assumed her defenses, her chin tucked in and her ears flattened. She was more than ready for a battle, and Tiamat appreciated her readiness. She was a fine addition to the pride.

Two would arrive, a rather pitiful audience, but one all the same. Magda would nod to each briefly but keep her defenses up. Tiamat spoke of going against her if no one arrived. That would be ideal, honestly. Seeing as Mag wanted to prove herself to her superiors rather than her peers. But she'd take what came to her all the same.

They'd stand there for a good while, and finally Magda was tired of waiting. It seemed none would join them. So Magda vs Tiamat it was.

"Guess it's you and me then, High Sovereign." she'd rumble, bowing her head briefly before charging at the woman. Her aim would be to slam into the woman head on and attempt to knock her off balance. Simultaneously, right paw would fly out in an effort to try and cuff the other woman in the left side of the face. Limbs remain tensed and ready for action, claws unsheathed for traction and jaws agape - at the ready.

No one appeared to contest the challenge, and so it would fall to Tiamat to make the test herself. That was just fine for her; she enjoyed a good fight and what better way to test the skill of her members than to fight them herself?

Roxana rushed her head on and Tiamat squared her legs, tensing them for the impact. She was not the kind of lion to try to simply dodge out of the way of a headlong rush. Roxana was a bit smaller than Tiamat, but not enough to make a huge difference in the ultimate impact. At the last second Tiamat shoved herself forward to lessen the blow a little, their chests meeting in a clash of flesh and bone. Pain blossomed at the site of the impact, the beginnings of a bruise forming beneath the skin. Her forward movement and the tensing of her legs meant that she was not pushed off balance, though the sand provided less solid ground and she did slide backward an inch or two.

There was no time to avoid the paw that smacked her face, forcing her head to turn to the right and causing yet another bruise to bloom beneath the skin there. She tried to quickly turn her head back to looking towards her opponent as she raised her left foreleg and swung it up, hoping to fling it over her shorter opponent's back and snag claws in the skin near the spine or shoulders to gain some leverage.
