The warm musky scent of prey had pulled Eisa into the gardens from the fields, as she tracked and followed the trails left by the animal. She moved silently, her red fur a beacon in the beautiful gardens, as she sniffed at the trail- before she deviated into the taller red flowers so that she could potentially blend in. Only then, would she let out a soft chuff to see if anyone was nearby, to see if hopefully any of her family were close or someone nice was... perhaps they'd be hungry and they'd help take down whatever they found. She'd really like to take some prey home to the cache, and contribute more.

It was a good day to hunt, and Leila took to the fields in search of opportunity. Keen to pull her weight and fill her belly for her new pride, she pads on silent, watching paws looking for her chance. Many of the creatures that roamed the plains were too large and healthy for a solo tigress to take down. She was looking for injury, for weakness in the creatures. Something a budding huntress could exploit.

The gardens had her slunk low, attentive to scents and sounds around her. The foliage suited her well, stripes breaking up her rusty pelt and letting her linger in the tall blades of grass. Leila's ears pricked at the sound of a lion call, soft over the garden but unmistkable. A hunt? She corrected her course to investigate.

A red youth soon came into view, partially maned but soft-featured. She smelt of the brook, Leila realised, recalling the woman who had met her at the sandy passage. "Need a paw?" she offered as she approached, finding friendliness a little easier today... mostly because she was excited to hunt.

one year, no bonus —
The lingering scent of prey had chased after her in the gardens while she had been preparing more herbs to carry back to the lagoon. Thankfully, this area was providing quite fruitful. Her crappily-made vine bag to carry her herbs in was already quite full with limited space left, but she was hard-pressed to let the day slip her by. Slipping some monkey rope off a nearby vine, tendrils of it being smooshed into her carry-on and draping over the sides with a few stray leaves dangling. Carina had wanted to gather up some of the castor bean's she saw but did not wish to accidentally get any of it on the other plants should she accidentally wish to kill her patients. Best to be on the safe side.

Once she felt like she had gathered a good bit did she wander with her nose in the air to find the scent. Trailing after it through the gardens and keeping her body somewhat low to the ground in the event that it might notice her among the grasses. She wasn't the best at blending into her surroundings but she could manage and pray for good luck. Meandering closer and closer she begun to smell two... lions? No, not lions. Something else that was nearby. For a second she thought that was what they were hunting but it seemed to be friendly with the other lion, maned and bright red. A yearling, like herself, with some other animal.

Despite the unknown "prey", her eyes were transfixed on the stripes. Stripes like hers but different; bright orange palette that could be as bright as the sun in the sky in late afternoon.

The male came upon a small group. Hm, so what was this all about? It wasn't too curious of a sight for him though. He was used to traveling about in a group. Mixed company also wasn't that special either. What was curious was that they were all standing about and seemed to be waiting upon something.

The tabby colored tiger's ears pitched forwards at the tigress's words. "I certainly could use a paw." Honeyed words spilled forth. If she was offering then he might as well take advantage. He hadn't exactly decided just what he needed a paw with just yet but he was certain he could come up with something quickly enough.

"So are we all just standing about and sky gazing or is something more meant to be happening?"

5 years, Sub-Master Ranger: Counts as two lions in any hunt.

It had been a long while since Eskel had joined a hunt in the lands, but as he strolled through the gardens- he nearly stumbled upon this hunt. The small gathering looked like it could use an extra set of paws and so he approached silently- his eyes raking over a young yearling who seemed to be wanting to lead it, a tiger... that was shocking.

He blinked slowly, and nodded a greeting but remained silent, crouching down and waiting- as he studied the other lioness- scenting the smell of a pride, though he wasn't sure which. Then he waited, to see what they'd find- what they'd be taking down.

When she had scented something she didn't recognize, she hadn't thought that it would be a bird. She feels almost embarrassed at those who have gathered, as she points to the bird, her ears flat against her head- uneasy. "I thought it was something else." She admits, and yet... she won't walk away from the hunt. She moves quickly, happy to have any help she can get as she charges towards the creature and when the small group manages to bring it down finally, she sighs softly- prodding it.

"Here, why don't you guys take it?" She looks up to those there, and she wasn't sure how they'd break it apart, but her eyes lingered on the tiger for a moment, before she offered a shy smile. "Thank you." She offered them all kindly, and then she'd move to make her exit.

The hunt is quick, and their quarry small. Leila did her best to trap and flag down the scurrying bird and batted it from the sky when it tried to flurry away with a big swish of feathers. She let the others have the killing bite though, and jogged to a halt. "That's ok." she assured the uneasy yearling, "These are pretty tasty." And the feathers very useful as decorations. She'd take some home.

With the catch successful, Leila would bob her head gladly and move to take her share. A bit of a leg and thigh and the long feathers of the left wing were her choice picks. Decoration and a little snack that'd tide her over til' another hunt. She caught the red girl's eye but she departed before Leila could inquire further.

"Good hunting." she wished on the others before she moved away, picking up her share and trotting off into the grasses of the gardens.

While it turned out that his hunting abilities weren't truly needed, he remained around to help take the bird down, and offered an encouraging nod to the yearling. It was tough luck, but it happened. Eskel didn't need the bird, nor anything from it, so when it was done, he'd merely glance at the tiger as she spoke, nodding in agreement to her words- they were tasty, but with those words, he'd turn away. "Good hunting." He'd call good naturedly, as he made to take his leave from the group- wondering if he'd encounter any of them again in another hunt in the neutral lands.

While the fully maned lioness @Eisa admits that she had believed she had been hunting something bigger, Carina does not mind helping. Even if it were a rabbit, she would've still participated and assisted. Just as when the completed the hunt after the bustard, she was just as happy to let someone else have it than herself. The medic had no reason to take away someone else's meal that was made for perhaps one, possibly two, lions at most. With that, she was happy to let the striped creature have at it as the only other lion also relinquished ownership.

Enjoy. With a tight smile she moved on, back to where her monkey rope was as she moved to grab that and began looking for more. Easily located as she began to take more from the plant, scraping together whatever she could from the plant. Leaves, roots, stems -- all of it could be put to use somehow and she was eager to be put to work. All the while her nose finding yet another something along the way.

Leaning her nose downwards with the plants still in her mouth, she began to follow the trail of what she hoped was not another bird. It's tracks were small so at best she figured it was a four-legged animal. She could at least hope that it was something would tide her over for the time being as well as a meal that she wouldn't have to share. Thankfully it was a medium-sized rodent that was easily chased and easily conquered. Leaving her with a good meal as well as several pieces of monkey rope to add to her growing collection. exit carina
