He got no response to his words, and Angelo was actually a bit sad about that. What was the fun in a fight if they couldn't have some friendly banter? Oh well, left him free to get a mouthful of the other man's flesh and blood. Or for him to get a mouthful of Angelo's, considering his teeth sank into his jaw. He wasn't as worried about the claws sinking into his armpit, though they were far from comfortable.

He reached up with his right paw, since most of the man's face was currently on that side, and attempted to get a grip on the left side of his face, up by his eyebrow. He wasn't sure he wanted to go for the whole blinding thing just yet but the other guy didn't seem to be going easy soooo... If push came to shove he guessed.

Apollinaire’s teeth gnashed against bone and sparse flesh, and he felt invigorated with his newly acquired grip. He relished as the metallic taste flooded his mouth, urging him to tear more. He obliged to his inner workings and attempted to twist his skull to his left, trying to tug on the jaw he held between his teeth.

Angelo’s claws met the flesh starting from the base of his mane and down to his brow, the stinging pain immediate as blood oozed down towards the Bluffs Noble’s left eye. With his talons successfully locking behind the opponent’s armpit, Apollinaire attempted to yank towards himself, trying to only worsen the damage and bury his claws deeper.

At first when Tripfire had stated they were to go to the battle and support the family, Pyracantha had immediately refused, and stepped protectively over her children, even going as far as to growl a warning tone at her mate. But in the end, she submitted and begrudgingly agreed, so with her son on Trips back, and Venus following at her hind flank, she followed to the Hollow. Once there, she promptly sat down after giving a nod to Amara, greeting the Queen before placing Venus between her front paws, nestled under her chest as she fixed her stare on the challenge.

Another battle starts off to the side, she glances to Beñat, memories of the day she'd adopted him flooded her senses and she flattens her ears, hoping he wouldn't go off trying to get in the middle again. Though, she had more faith now that he was older, next her gaze flicked to Mars, making sure he was safe, her attention was pulled away momentarily by Venus whining and burying her face in her mother's chest. It's okay my love. She lowered her head, whispering to her daughter.

Angelo felt the bones and muscles of his jaw creak as the man twisted his head, and moved his own to ease some of the tension. His mouth filled with the taste of blood, not that he minded that but he would have preferred if it was his opponent's. Maybe he could get some of that too. He had to be careful though, because if he opened his mouth he knew it would be all too easy for his opponent to get a better grip on his jaw and do some more serious damage.

Then he was getting pulled forward and instinctively clenched his right paw, trying to get a better grip on the man's face for his own balance. Fuck it, he thought, planting his hind paws and lifting his left paw from the ground, attempting to sink his claws into the man's right shoulder.

As Apollinaire twisted his skull, so did the opponent. The Dieudonne hound was stubborn, though, and he quite enjoyed the upper hand he had. More than anything else, however, he wanted to chomp further into the enemy. His jaws attempted to tighten, trying to close in on the lower jaw even further to try and worsen the damage.

He feels the pressure of Angelo’s claws sinking deeper and deeper into his temple, blood seeping into his eye from the wound, forcing his lid to slide down in an effort to protect his vision. Suddenly, claws grip his shoulder, and the much bigger man’s bulk is crushing him. In one last ditch effort, Apollinaire attempts to shove forward and into the man, trying to topple the striped colossal.

He certainly didn't expect the man to let go of his face, but it would have been nice. Instead his grip tightened further, and Angelo was getting a sinking feeling that he was about to get his jaw snapped if things went any further. That seemed like it would be inconvenient, to say the least.

The man pushed against him, and Angelo let himself be shifted, settling his weight back more on his hind legs as he attempted to rake both sets of claws down, attempting to further exacerbate the wounds. Two could play at that whole "fucking up someone's face" thing. He was aware there was a sense of irony considering his previous conversation with Fallon. Ooh, he hoped she hadn't gotten jumped too since she'd been sitting beside him. He'd check on her in a minute.

@Angelo is quick to provide an explanation, stating that the challenger was indeed this Alex that he had mentioned in their previous encounter. "Interesting," she hums as her company notes that no one from the Hollows had come to show their support for their King.

Strange -- were they planning something else? Had they been told to steer clear? She doesn't get a chance to continue on their conversation for out of the blue arrives a male from the Bluffs. She does not know him but perhaps Angelo has offended him. For whatever reason, the pair start brawling and Fallon does her best to get out of the way, fur standing on end and her expression sour.

She would hope Angelo would surface victorious.

Alexander saw as others arrived, happy to see his family and amongst them, Nazonal. Shortly after, he noticed the small watercolor feline, Patchouli arrive as well. Unfortunately, there was the unfortunate stench of the Mire mingling with the crowd as they gathered - and another, more earthy scent he'd come to know as the Bluffs. He was still unaware of their importance, but it seemed he would soon find out about Louve's relatives.

Attention shifts as his opponent finally arrives, yelling nonsense and coming at him full force. There was no tact, no grace - simply brute strenght coming from a smaller creatue. A snort is all that is allowed to usher forth from his jaws before Vermier is upon him, slamming his form against him. As he was significantly larger, the force wasn't as bad as it could've been. Alexander had seen him coming and quickly braced the muscles of his back limbs as well. There would still be a bruising upon his chest, however, as force was force.

The Hollow's Sovereign was reckless, wild - it was something he could admire and also hope would give him some sort of advantage. With little time to think, he let instinct take over. Claws sliced into both his upper limbs, the lacerations deep enough to cause blood to bubble and trickle down his limbs slowly. Back limbs spread as he attempts to lift his left limb even as Vermier's jaws go for his left cheek - hoping to stop the attack. He is a moment too late, as teeth slice into the meatier part of his flesh, splitting it open.

That left limb still raises, attempting to use the sheer force of his weight to try and slam it into the right side of his opponent's face. Talons glint, hoping to try and rend flesh in the process. Head lowers just enough toward the other's raised limb ( if it was still clinging to to his upper leg ) and attempts to clamp voracious jaws onto it and hopefully dig those teeth deep into the flesh.

He learns from his mistakes, if anything. Dragos will never again turn his back on Wolfbron Bluffs lions. From the corner of his eye he sees a big bastard dart toward @Angelo, and despite his general unending annoyance with the man, in a roundabout way he is family. No one touches his family - no one. Especially from behind. He is too late to call out a warning - distracting the male wouldn’t help. By the time Dragos is even aware of the ambush, the fight is already underway.

What low-life attacks from the rear? Going for the tail (and maybe even those manly bits under it?). He winces at the thought. Cowards and idiots, Dragos thought. That’s what they are. Even if that woman was lying about their hungers, they’re clearly a fucking insane lot.

He’ll make sure they know it. And he’ll make sure they won’t come for the rest of his family.

"@Lilliana, get out of here." Dragos whispers, gaze darting between her and @Valens. "Those fuckers over there are dangerous." He remembers the missing chunk of Septima’s neck, and too easily envisions it on his cousin. With that he stands up, puffing all that neatly groomed mane and fluff, turning his back to his family and attempting to direct the attention of the Bluffs lions at himself.

"Coward!" The Savante bellows, his father’s fight for a pride now forgotten entirely. "The fucking lot of you, a bunch of pathetic little cowards."

Another one? Septima wouldn't have attended if she hadn't been nearby, especially not now given the pregnancy. She recognized the man calling for the pride of only for his mottling; he bore a strong resemblance to.. Oh. There he was. And he was upset. Septima frowned, peering over at him with concern as he hollered out against the Wolfbron hoard. The Miroslav hunkered down where she was, trying to stay hidden as much as possible and out of the line of fire while she watched. The last thing she needed was to draw attention to herself, but she did want to keep an eye on Dragos. If he got injured, she'd heal him up without fail. septima is trying to hide
