July Y13
Summer
Summer is in full swing now, with clear skies, warm nights, and ample sunshine! As such, the deserts begin to grow dry, the shores remain a blissful escape, the north is spared with cooling winds, and humidity continues to rise in the jungle. Rain and storms are long forgotten troubles by now, which is both a virtue and a vice during the heat of the season.

A few weeks had passed since Parvana's acceptance into the Plains. And, while she did miss her sister, it was rather liberating to be forging a life on her own. Lorien was beautiful; the more she explored of it, the more she found herself feeling comfortable. Feeling at home. It would be quite something, after all this time, to feel at home someplace. The more time that passed, the more reassured she felt that things would be okay. There'd been a change of leadership, too, and it hadn't even sent her into a panic. A novelty for Parvana, who felt things rather deeply even at the best of times. She had Olive to thank for her thus-far seamless integration into the community and felt a treat was called for - a show of appreciation. With a couple of fat hares betwixt her jaws, the lilac lioness made her way toward Olive's den; it was mid-morning, and the scent of her friend was strong here - if she wasn't still in bed, she wouldn't be far. Dropping her catch, the huntress would send out a few quiet summoning calls for the Noble.

the addition of husband and child thwart the orbit she’d maintained about the lorien queen, loosening the gravitational pull between sister stars. and although she yearns to restore their overlapping revolutions – yearns to fall back into the comforting embrace of codependence – she acknowledges the cruel truth of change and its necessity, however reluctant she is to do so. it is a bitter pill to choke down for the immature, and one that forces the hopelessly dramatic to reel with uncertainty. and unfortunately, for one such pixie blessed with both traits, it is utterly world-shattering, near-impossible to digest.
but distractions do make change easier to stomach, and especially those in the shape of a friend.
little lilac. how brief their previous encounter, but how striking an impression the yearling had branded upon her psyche. her summons entirely unforeseen due to a presumed independence, but it is one olive receives with the faint upturn of her lips as exhilaration builds. heeding the invitation with a bounding step, she beelines towards @Parvana with a giddy trill of laughter, anticipating a promised excursion.
her previous woes vanish as the object of her pursuit manifests amongst the grasses, and olive’s pace quickens in her approach. offering a mischievous smirk and quirk of a brow as her gaze wavers between food and friend, a silent question of the intent to share wrought in her quizzical expression. “you didn’t strike me as a suck-up,” she taunts, halting within a regrettable cushion of personal space. “lucky for you: it works on me.” yes, what an honorable boss she were.BG — CODE — art
