He hasn't heard of Maua. That's ok. Dio had recently learned that not everyone has heard of her beloved god. Sometimes it was required to teach, just a Dio herself still had much to learn. She's a willing teacher, as novice as she is herself, for Jai. Maua made this land. If she's a little stern in saying it is only because such a fact was in doubt lately. As if how forcefully you said something could change whether it was true or not. They gave us this land to make our homes, they even gave me and my brothers to my fathers. He was eager to learn about new things, including her Maua so when @Diomedeidae began to explain just who Maua was Jai was keen to stay silent and listen to her. Well that sounds interesting. He would comment once she was finished her explanation of Maua. Though he was even more curious about her comment of how Maua had given her to her father's. Not mother's but Dads. Ears pushed forwards as Jai tilted his head at her - regretting it when a shot of sunlight caught his eye - and blinked. Father's? How was that possible? Take in mind that Jai had never met a couple that was of the same sex so..hi

Dio's smile grows as Jai looks up and she can better see his eyes, admiring their almost jewel like qualities. Yep! Dad Aquila and Papa Caligula. I've got Papa's eyes. She said, proud of her bright and lovely teal eyes. Fortunately it didn't quite strike Dio that Jai found the idea of two dads unfamiliar. For her it was beyond normal, Aunt Cassandra had two moms after all why shouldn't there be two dads too for some lions? Jai is also rather kind about his curiousity, Dio readily takes to the chance to gush about her family and doesn't bat an eye. Do you have two dads? Mom's? She seemed so excited to talk about both of her dads whereas he was thoroughly confused. Ears twisting as he straightened himself so that he was in her shadow again, his head still hurt but it had lightened up some and he could only thank her for that. But he was more curious about how she got two dads. And even more curious about how she was talking about someone who had two moms. Jai would shake his hurting head at her when @Diomedeidae would ask her question. Uh.. no just a mom and dad. I didn't anyone could have two moms or two dads. He would admit to her but now, he wanted to meet these lions.hi

Really? She says with surprise. It's so very normal to her after all. I've never met someone who didn't know that you can. But there's really nothing special to it. It's all the same. Everyone loves each other and they're all fantastically awesome. Dio could shower Jai in her pride and love for her family all day, but at the end of it her having two dads or two aunts wasn't the only thing that was special about them, it was far from the top of the list even for the young girl who knew nothing else than this.

He would nod at her when she asked "really" to him. Well, I'm glad that they all love each other. Better than his original family. The one that had given him the scars and labeled him as a curse. It was all behind him now but it was still haunting him in his dreams. But then she called him her friend and that caused him to grin at her. I don't have many friends, but I am glad I met you. He would admit to her, feeling comfortable enough to let her in on one of his insecurities. He felt like he could trust @Diomedeidae a little bit.hi

She seems genuinely surprised when @Jai mentions not having many friends. At first there is a bit of sadness. Dio doesn't understand why that'd be. He seemed quite friendly and kind, an easy lion for anyone to make friends with. But then she begins to smile, teal eyes shining through with as much happy emotion as the look on her muzzle. I'm glad to have met you too. I love my family but it's way more fun to meet other lions sometimes. She decided she'd be the best friend that she could for him. There was no way she knew of where she could force anyone to be his friend, even if he did deserve it, so maybe she could make up for quantity with quality. She seemed surprised that he didn't have a whole lot of friends in his life and the one friend that he did have was now gone. But still, Jai had become content with that lifestyle and the idea of not having any friends. However, a small smile formed on his pale features when she spoke about meeting him. Yea, it is. Though most of the time lions are asleep when I go out about. He would admit to @Diomedeidae. Most lions weren't out during the dark like he did and it was only because of his damn pelt. Sometimes he really did think that he was cursed. But then she was saying something about him coming to see the summit ( though at night ) and he would grin at her perhaps a bit bigger than he had been. That sounds like a great idea!hi

I like being up at night. Dio says with a reassuring smile. I love the stars, my dad Caligula has taught me so much about them. And so it seemed all the more fateful, and perfect, to Dio that they should be friends. She wanted to be up at night anyways to see the stars and their spelndor. Having company would make it all the better. Dio began to describe for @Jai the paths up to the Summit, landmarks to look for both natural and those planted by her or Talisa to help guide others around. Her voice happy, calm, as she let time get away from her with easy conversation.

It was odd hearing that someone else liked being up during the night like him. Granted he could very well travel during the day if he wanted to, just like now, but it bothered him so much that Jai tended to not do it as often as one would think. But he was happy to find someone who did and he would smile at her. And then she began to explain how to get to the Summit and he would listen to her intently. Jai wanted to come and see her home it was the least he could do for her being so nice to him and covering the sun out of his eyes. exit via chit chathi
