The bleating of the infernal goats was enough to drive a sane lioness mad. Helah, herself, was already far from sane. Before her probably untimely nap, she had been tinkering with poisons, and now the scent of the nightshades clung to her- disguising her scent- as a walking poison bush. (If one were stupid enough to believe that, and let's be real- goat's are) -- With a low-pitched snarl, she had exited her den- with the intention of pitching one of them off the side of the cliff and gutting the other slowly when she caught them- as she headed off in search of them. There. There they were- the infernal beasts. She just spied them bleating about a damn piece of rock, and she set herself into a silent spring among the rocks- working her speed and agility and silence as she sought to close the gap between her and the nearby rocks to hide behind so she could plot her attack.

Slowing to a halt, behind some large rocks, her claws already out, she mimicked slicing one's throat as she silently watched them- her eyes narrowed, ears flat with displeasure at being disturbed from her nap. Rutting bastards.

Yet, she did not make a move yet- she merely waited, behind the closer outcrop of rocks to see when the time would be right.

The incessant bleating meant a call for food. At least that was how Oleander interpreted it. This wasn't the first time that food had come in and announced itself in such a fashion. The lions didn't even have to send up the call for a hunt when the goats were busy doing that themselves.

Once he got to where the food was waiting he found a lioness already hiding and watching them. In silence did he stride up and settled next to the Bluffs member. It was lionesses that usually led this thing and so like the obedient minion that he was Ole found himself waiting for the female to tell him what to do.

One ear twitched indistinctly, barely strong enough to ruffle the lavender streaks around it. But his skull rose well enough, and the hunger in his ember eyes was clear. The scarred beast found himself less than hungry - less, even, desirous of bloodshed - no, he found himself desirous of company, feline company such as may attend this happenstance with enough bloodlust to compensate for his own lazy mood. He didn't want to look like he'd just risen from a nap, even though he had. He paused and jerked a clawed hind foot at the side of him that had been rested, fluffing out the mane so it was no longer as flat. His claws got caught in his mane instead... he frowned, wishing to think it was because his mane was That Awesome but realizing his claws needed work. He flumped himself over into a sprawl and nipped between the gnarly hind daggers. They were uneven, some overly thick and blunt while others were half broken. He got them into some semblance of formation, all of them having presentable ends. These weren't the knives he usually hunted with, but one never knew....

And then, a bit more maintained and a lot less tired, he headed toward the precipice that the idiot hoofers were yelling over. Did they not care that Dieudonne lived here and were always hungry? Maybe they knew but thought it was worth the risk if they could attract some lady goats. The only lady feline that had been attracted was that cloud-patterned one who had seized Noble, and she had attracted Vermier's younger charge. It was a pity how much more bloodthirsty she seemed than one supposedly of their blood. He decided there was no reason to crowd them. He'd rather be off where there was nobody was interfere with his lonesome majesty. Meaning, he circled to the other side of the prey and settled into a comfortable crouch. He didn't pay too much attention to anyone else (unless they should happen to be Lycaonia), figuring that when the charge was called, he would know.

Their idiotic, presumptuous bleeting began to annoy him. It seemed the others thought the same. The three of them were quite enough to bring the split-hoofed bastards down. Vermier thought he contributed the most, because of course he did. He lorded his chest over the larger one, bristling, and ate the choice meat from it. He knew Oleander would not contest him, but perhaps the female might think gender meant more than blood and name here. It did not. He crouched ready and when he was done, blood padded down the base of his chest and more delicately flecked the thin fur beneath his chin and the long indignant ends of his whiskers. It was warm meat, and that was always wonderful, but it always left a void. Either of his hunting partners would have made a more delicious dinner.

Maybe someday one of them would be bleeting out an idiotic claim against his name. It was nice to think about. He grabbed and pulled off a hind limb and swaggered back to his den, weighed down by food and arrogance.

The male jumped in and helped out where needed in order to ensure that the goats weren't about to get away. And they most certainly didn't even if the hunting party was quite small. Whatever. It wasn't the size of the hunting party that really mattered, only their success mattered. And they were successful.

Ole went after the goat that his patron had left behind and ate his fill from it. It wasn't often that he had a sizeable portion left for him and so he was taking advantage of it. Once he was done he ended up dragging the carcass back to the cache, leaving the untouched goat to the female.

Oleander Exits

Getting to the infernal beasts would require her to push her agility and speed to it's limits, but as the nightshade clung to her like a perfume- she finally moved from her hiding place as other arrived. She leapt up the side of the mountain, sticking close to the rock, but mostly using her narrow frame and generally fearless nature to explode upwards, as she climbed higher and higher.

If you asked her later how the hunt was successful, she'd laugh and call it luck- but as the beasts fell to the ground, she followed them down, climbing very carefully- before landing on the earth again to take her share of the meat.
