Helah lazes where she had been laying, as another approaches- lolling on her side to glance up at him, and she smirks. "That would be a delightfully easy meal." Her sharp pink gaze doesn't miss the arrival of others, and slowly as the group gathers it is clear that the beast won't survive this.

She finally rises to her feet, and decides that she is going to join them.

She stretches slowly, throwing a 'what are you gonna do?' sort of look to @Ryker and then leaps down the side of the rocks to meet them, and then she joins them, and joins the hunt- until the beast is felled, then it is time to eat.

GOD KILLS INDISCRIMINATELY AND SO SHALL WE

Dead today would not be one of the Dieu or Dieu affiliates. The buffalo, brave and crazed though it was, lacked the blood of the lion. It would live on within their stomachs and muscles, strengthening them and their descendants. It was similar to how he wished to die. Foolish, deadly, and oh so magnificent.

He snapped several times at its hamstring before gaining a hold. He let his body go limp like dead weight. As more lions arrived, attaching themselves to the prey, it tired and eventually fell. And then, heedless to its continued state of aliveness, he bore his weight over its chest and stomach and began to tear at its wonderful shoulder muscles. It was what this whim of him favored and low, warning growls suggested that no else should interfere.

It seemed as though they all worked well together - well enough to bring down the prey that had stumbled so carelessly into Wolfbron. His sides heaved as he slowed down to a halt, the fresh blood from the buffalo dripping from his muzzle. Taking his share of the carcass (which was slightly more than normal - he was hungry), Hazarin slipped off to the slide and quietly ate his pick, ripping flesh from flesh and enjoying the warmth of the metallic blood as it slipped down his throat.

Content with the catch and with his fill, Hazarin dipped his head to the crowd that had gathered and departed.

That one of Ambrosine's who looked so much like his father knew better than to interfere. Vermier's manner signified a dangerous, foul mood. One that sought to be crossed, so it could snap. His ember eyes watched the others as he stood over his portion, his mane bristling and spiked with blood. Varieties of crimson and pink streamed across his fangs, shadowing chunks down his gullet and darkening and clotting in his mane. He took some passion in this, but it was not a quiet and safe pleasure. Once he was filled - taking less than usual, but taking the most delicacies of that - he growled and sauntered off, his path unerringly down the ledges of the bluffs back to his den.

The fight was quick, but bloody. The damn thing almost tore through Apollinaire a couple of times with those enormous weapons for horns on it's head. The adrenaline coursed through his veins, the madness that was nestled so deeply within his brain was only making the situation even more exciting. Thankfully, the group were on-time to save Gauthier from a certain shish-kebab fate. Thankfully. Yes. Thankfully, because Gauthier was friend and not food, right? Right.

The Dieudonne preferred to feast on a different kind of meat today, but a bull would do for now. Even if its' flesh was nothing like the juicy one of... oh, nevermind. This thing will do. Once done, he helped drag whatever was left like the courteous hound and went on his daily duties.

A glance was given over to Hazarin as the other male came over to him. A slight nod of his head was given in greeting before they were all moving after the buffalo. With all of them running and working together it didn't take long to fell the beast.

And once it had fallen Vermier was quick to dive in and take what he wished of the prey animal. Even Hazarin grabbed a portion and headed off. Like the obedient minion that he had been taught to be did Oleander wait to be able to get to the carcass rather than diving in as others had.

He took a bit of haunch meat for himself and swallowed it quickly. Then he helped Apollinaire to cart off what was left back to the cache.

The bull stamped, spinning heel and horn with shearing force - a momentum of heaving muscle and shifting leather. The light glinted off the sharpness of its crown, breaking the halo of flies and dust, and its wild eyes rolled in the dark sockets of its skull. Gauthier skidded on the red rock, pulling ruts through the sandstone shelf; scarcely time to mull the options, but the buffalo is cast away and back. When its raving gaze settles back on cat flesh, there are shadows at its haunches, but on it comes nonetheless.

What frothing, writhing madness makes of it a cumbersome foe is also its downfall. It bleats, blaring, a foaming cadence to the warsome hollows of its reaving power - thrusting the force of its stride back against the rock, its broad skull aimed once more for Gauthier. He ducked, lunged from the edge of the cliff - but a blow of stone-thick horn and skull caught the throw of his hips. Spinning, sore, he made to attach himself claw and tooth to the hulk's bulging shoulder and dug deep as others filed in.

Though of equal fortune than effort, he is scorned by the victorious show the Dieudonne Sovereign makes - his jeering teeth and spiked hackles, the foreboding cast of his warding alert. Greedy, virile. Not that it was anything less than what he would expect from a Sovereign - he watched aside as Vermier selected some finest cutlets, leaving elsewise mediocrity for the peasantry. Gauthier scowled, selfish himself, but would not challenge the Dieu's claims on his appetite, similar as they were. But when the way was cleared, he was quick to take his choice of steak and venture off into the peace of privacy wherein he could find some small satisfaction in having escaped death.

And he would consider what it had all meant.

Luck was on their side. Luck and skill in equal measure, perhaps, but luck all the same. Gauthier catches a bruising blow but he does not go down -- it will pain him, surely, but it will not threaten his well being.

Louve stays focused on her target, thankful that the beast does not look her way. From her position half up the cliff she is able to twist her body and fall back, landing neatly on the stampeding buffalo, sinking her teeth and claws in deep. It may not be the killing bite but it was enough to slow the creature so that others could bring it down.

Once it stills she disengages, snagging a piece of meat for herself and disappearing quickly from the gathered group.

A glance and a smirk was cast at @Helah, We deserve easy every now and then. But others arrived and they seemed less entertained. Well. They should probably make sure the only thing that died today was the buffalo and not one of their pridemates, right? An amused hum came at @Marius' comment, but there was little time for extended conversation as things began to happen soon after. Ryker would fall in with the others, slotting himself into whatever role seemed necessary. He had the good sense to stay away from the swinging horns, at the very least.

So their fellow member would be spared an early death, and the buffalo would suffer one. Once that fury had bled out onto the stone and the beast stilled, Ryker would enjoy his share and then help to move whatever might remain to storage.
