The father knew a lot of Maua and Amaryllis, though he only knew this through the long life that he had lived with his own family. Watching them succeed and grow into the powerful force they were today. While these newcomers knew nothing, Daario could so easily fix that if only they'd venture in. In their own way, yes. Though he didn't wish to leave her pondering that for long. Maua has created this place for those that pass on within the walls of Amaryllis. Those that die too early to make their mark, are left as a Ghost. But those that put themselves out there and experience the world that they've created - are given more responsibility in the afterlife. Those that died outside were not given the luxury of living here in the Grotto but one could begin to wonder if other lands had something to this nature. @Jewel was a curious one and that only fueled his desire to teach and nurture that interested and intrigue. Hopeful that they would tell someone else and further share their knowledge so that they would see the importance of Maua and where they stumbled upon.

She would nod, her cerulean gaze turning towards @Daario with interest. Now that she had gotten over the initial shock of seeing what was... essentially.. a ghost, the lioness was full of questions. Jewel frowned, ears folding against her skull before she spoke something she had been pondering for quite some time. "Why... has Maua allowed us into the island now?"

The ebony queen would shift, her expression somber, as she wondered. After all - she had arrived with what seemed to be a mass exodus of other lions from another realm - and alongside those lions, she fought the barriers of fog and found her way deeper into amaryllis as they did. "There are those that have lived here for generations... right? What... changed that had strangers being brought here?"

Even though his family followed Maua closely, they did not know all of her reasonings and usually they kept it hush hush. This particular piece of knowledge in particular which led to not knowing a good reason to tell @Jewel as to why Maua had chosen this particular time. Perhaps they saw something that we didn't. A moment in time that coming together had to happen at that exact moment. Fate potentially being pulled into play but really, it was just Maua being Maua. Choosing her placement carefully and knowing that both sides would be able to coexist, so long as they chose to accept it. Maua works in mysterious ways. They are a helpful Deity, looking to aide those that are in need - best I can imagine is that Maua wanted to give those beyond Amaryllis a place to call home.

The female listened as @Daario spoke of Maua's reasonings and his thoughts on the matter. She, herself, wondered if it was because the gene pool in Amaryllis with only the natives would inevitably lead to the failure and extinction of their kind. However, she was no deity, nor spirit. Jewel wasn't privy to the decisions of those in the other world.. But, she had to admit that she wasn't going to complain that the gods of these world allowed she and her family to come. Though, she wondered how long until they would see more lost wraiths from outside the realm come through the passage...brought by the deities of this land.

Jewel settled to her haunches, watching the lion standing before her to see what his question aas - as she had asked her own....technically.. two.. so now it was the other lions turn.

From what he had gathered was that Maua let in a few lions at a time through the gates of the Passage but this time, she had held them open for all. Where once the Passage was guarded by a thick fog, it was now open for all to see and walkthrough without problem. So they had never had to worry about there not being anyone to continue their family. If you should ever need a listening here, you know where to find me. The father held no questions of his own that he was immediately interested in asking. His existence now was to live vicariously through others and he desperately wished to know who was living within Amaryllis now. For now, he was happy to disapparate until another time in which she (or another) might visit. While he was no Maua, he hoped he could serve a similar purpose and draw some light to the world of the spiritual. exit daario
