Despite having spent a lot of his time through the veil of the spirits, he was a little lackluster when it came to being confined to one single place. He had no knowledge of the outside world and could only see what really happened here if he happened to see someone within the Grotto. Today he lingered in the most invisible way possible and floated around, hoping that there might be someone to interact with that he could settle his boredom with. The children were likely busy but surely someone would come and help an old soul?

Summer
With the last of the rainfall seeming to have swept across the peninsula, summer days await! The days are warm, though comfortable, and peeter off into more mild evenings while the humidity remains low. It is the perfect inbetween until things transition towards more sweltering temperatures, so best enjoy it while it is here.

Time had brought him nothing but peace in the afterlife. Nothing had changed between his living days and his spectre days as he still looked over his family from time to time and made sure all was well with them. It wasn't until Maua had decidedly lifted the foggy veil of Amaryllis that he worried for their sake. Daario, however, was not a natural worrier so he hadn't the foggiest of how to breach the subject to his children. It had been a while since he had given the pride over to Nymeria and it was the best choice he could have made. She had led her siblings prior to being given the crown so she was the one that had made the most sense.
Despite having spent a lot of his time through the veil of the spirits, he was a little lackluster when it came to being confined to one single place. What was this? Jewel wasn't exactly what one might call a 'spiritual' being, but she was also not a complete "null" either. The lioness made her way into the grotto after having the rather... aimless wandering she had done to get here. But when she emerged, she found herself starstruck. Eyes of blue stared open as she searched the place to which she had come and swallowed slightly. With an almost hesitant step, the ebony lioness made her way deeper into the area. Jewel wasn't sure what this place was, but she could only describe what she felt as 'reverent'. Something told her that this place was a place of magic and wonder, and though she herself didn't truly believe in such things, there was something deep within her heart that told her it was truth.. That she had never grown out of the love of magical artifacts and stories that she thought she had. For here? Here was proof of such things. @Daario "Speak"

Proof she would receive! Daario noticing the woman almost immediately as the air around him shifted and he gazed at her longingly. A dark woman of many scars and a twisted tail of two, wandering through the Grotto as though questioning the very breath she breathed. The spectre took the moment to swoop down several feet where she would likely end up before slowly bringing himself into a form more presentable and apparent. I don't get too many visitors here, he addressed her with a dark baritone voice that spoke warmly. Pleased, as was obvious, that he had gotten a visitor as it was almost exclusively his family that settled here when they desired to see him. Which told Daario Valour that this was one of the infamous strangers to their doorstep.

The spectre that dropped before her had her pausing, fur standing on end and the ebon female coming to a halt. Eyes widening before she finally was able to unparalyze her lungs and exhale a breath she had sucked in. "I--..." Jewel had to try a few more time to get her jaws and vocal chords to work. She had never been particularly religious but after talking to Nymeria about the spirits of this land, now suddenly to see one standing before her she was struggling to comprehend. Jewel cleared her throat and tried again. "I hadn't meant to intrude into your inner sanctum." @Daario "Speak"

Daario had waited a long time to be able to be in the presence of a new visitor, one that wasn't tied to this land by means of being a native. Years the family had rested within the soil of Amaryllis but with this change, he wished to be able to help his children overcome the challenges. The father realized quickly that the challenge might come in getting these new visitors to open their mouths and use words. It's quite alright. I enjoy having a little surprise every now and then. After all, being beyond the veil did have its perks but he often found himself rather itchy for a chance to stretch his mental legs. His daughters kept him up to date occasionally but not as much as he would like. Not that he would shame them for it as they had their own dealings than to bother with tossing information to their father.

Picking her jaw up off the floor, Jewel would clear her throat, shuffling lightly in place before she turned her gaze towards @Daario again. "I see. Well... if my intrusion isn't a bother.. then perhaps we can speak? I have to say that I've never met a ... spirit.. before." Or - at least, she supposed that he was a spirit.. Considering that he was see-through and she found a strange feeling when speaking with the spectral being. Of course, Jewel would have thousands of questions as well - and was intent on making sure that they got answered.. but first.. she would need to find out what she could of the lion... and these lands. Being able to interact with the lions that had come into Amaryllis was something special and this was his moment to actually shine. A time when he could gauge his thoughts on them for himself rather than hearing it from his children's mouths. Of course. Speak away, child. Daario had been semi-preparing for this moment since his daughter had told him of the new visitors to the land. Their arrival causing quite an uproar in the lives of the Amaryllis natives. I expect that you have many questions, because who wouldn't? Hell, he had a lot of questions himself but none of them were entirely valid. More or less interrogation kind of questions so that he knew his children would continually be safe now that they weren't so alone. Maua had brought him back to life within the Grotto (it had its limitations, of course) so he felt he didn't have room to judge them bringing these new folks here.

A smile touched her lips before she tilted her skull towards him. "Perhaps.. in the sake of being fair - you could ask me a question when I ask you one?" Jewel wasn't sure if spirits - ghosts... whatever he was.. would want to ask questions of the living. The ebon queen would shift nervously before she settled, trying to make sure she presented a good image to the lion. Why? Because it was by the grace of the gods of this world that they lived here and she doubted that she would do anything to be 'ousted' but didn't want to upset the spirit of a lion from their past in the event she did. The woman was a bold one, of this he was certain. No other mortal had stumbled across him and attempted to make a deal with him, particularly not tried to soothe his own worrisome questions as well. Most just stared at him in disbelief and asked questions but @Jewel was eager to help where she could. Though, most of his questions would either by met with uncertainty and a shrug as they would likely revolve around his own family and the fate of Amaryllis. Alright then. Ladies first, a gentleman as ever that was eager to hear what she had to ask and not at all focused on anything he needed. Being a part of the after-life didn't exactly give him a whole lot of power regardless of what he asked.

She would think on what the question she had was before she spoke to @Daario. Jewel wanted to know more about these lands, and she couldn't be sure that she would ever learn enough about these lands to make much of a difference.. except.. "Do all those that die within these lands come here? " Jewel worried about the fate of her children - and hoped that 'outsiders' such as them wouldn't be excluded from this beautiful space. Naturally - she also was curious as to how many of the spirits that resided here were natives. Jewel knew that some lions had to have lived in these lands for generations - but why had they been allowed here now? What had happened to cause this regions gods to call in blood from beyond the pass? Was it because the natives as they were were doomed genetically? A small population with no outside genetics?
