Five years, Level 4 Ranger, no pride bonus

As the sun rises through the Rainforest, Maia stirs from her slumber. She is becoming accustomed to the busy life as High Sovereign, patrolling the borders daily and heading out to the Passage to recruit. If she was being honest with herself, though, she loved her new busy life, and found adjusting to it much easier than most.

Slipping from her den beside @Jafar, Maia took a stroll and soon came across a lone addax that seemed to have stumbled across the Rainforest. Perhaps it was in search of shade, but it was going to be in for a short and sharp shock. Lowering her body instinctively to the ground, Maia calls out to the rest of her pride mates in the hope to bring this animal down.

Yearling, no bonus

He had started to sleep alone in recent days - the art of den making one that was not coming naturally, but would surely be mastered in time. He was starting to realize that despite his apparent ability to be sneaky (surely a trained skill as opposed to a natural one), Thrain didn't have a huge amount of patience.

His den that night was not one he would keep, dug out beneath a large tree root- it had partially caved in already and was particularly shallow. Not very well rested, Thrain awoke easily to the call of his mother, and pursued her voice with a sleepy, but keen gait.

2Y | No bonuses

The early mornings were great for getting herbs ready to dry. She was already sitting beside some nice rocks and laying out various herbs carefully to dry. Linn was only part way through the job when Maia calls for them. Never one to turn down an invitation, the medic opted to answer. Herbs not prepared were carefully put back to prevent disruption and then she was off to answer the summons.

The scent of prey caught her attention first as she neared the call's origin. It told her to take on the hunter's crouch and so she did. A soft chuff was given to alert her pridemates of her arrival as she settled into the underbrush to await direction.

Most of his time was spent patrolling borders, scouring the passage or teaching one of the kids more about what was expected of them now that they had their own ranks to do things with. Barony within Obsidian Hollow was just a small touch but being royalty and @Thrain being heir, there was a lot more responsibility that would be upon their shoulders. He didn't expect it all the time but he did like to see their efforts when possible.

Happy was he to stumble across the pride gathering for a hunt and easing himself beside @Linnæa for a second, I am glad you came to our hunt. Words that were genuine as he continued to work on his social skills and breaking out of bad habits that clearly got him nowhere. It was better to build strength and trust, to know your pride mates, and that was what he intended to do even if it was small things one at a time. Eventually he nodded his head and roamed over towards @Maia, where Thrain shortly joined them, and was quite pleased to see them coming together even if their numbers remained small.

Dice were rolled in discord by @Sylvey. you can play out the remainder of the hunt however you’d like.

It is nice to see that her only son, @Thrain, is the first to join her. Fiery eyes turn to him and observe the sleep that seems to linger upon his frame. Rough night? She asks with a grin, wondering exactly what he had been up to, or if it were as simple as he had yet to shake the tiredness from his bones.

@Linnæa was the next to arrive, a lioness she had seen about the Rainforest but had yet to interact with properly. Jafar had brought her into the home, so she would not turn the medic away. Dipping her head to the woman and offering her a smile, her attention turned to @Jafar as he entered. She watched as he lingered by the side of Linnæa for a brief second before joining her. Maia waited, but it soon became apparent that no others were to join them.

I found a stray addax wandering through the territory. Thrain, Jafar, can you scare it into the meeting area? And - oh, She pauses, realizing that she does not know Linnæa's name. I'm awfully sorry. I do not know your name. But if you would like, you can help me bring it down. She remarks a little sheepishly, embarrassed that she did not know everyone who resided in her home.

And alas: they all worked together tremendously, successfully bringing down the prey animal with ease. Maia was proud of their efforts, and took her share, before turning to the others. Thank you for today. Take what you want and need, and I will see you all very soon.

And with that, the High Sovereign departs to patrol the borders.

He eyed his parents and Linnaea, particular mind payed to the overly polite way Jafar spoke with the maned woman - making a mental note to get to know her at some point. Of course, there came with his youth particular awkwardness around the opposite gender - especially when they were only young adults, so dangerously close to his age and yet so far.

He listened keenly to Maia's direction, and adapted accordingly, working with the rest of the small group to bring down the addax. He had managed to assist in the takedown this time, having had somewhat restrained it by a back leg whilst another made the kill. It felt good.

I'm happy to help. Linn would respond to @Jafar's comment about thanking her for joining them. It was only right to earn the food she consumed. His action did seem to earn a smidge bit of attention as @Thrain and @Maia appeared to take notice. Linn didn't mind and offered Maia her full attention as she began to direct them. I'm Linnæa, feel free to call me Linn. She'd introduce herself to Maia and Thrain at once. After that the High Sovereign was given a nod of acknowledgment. Linn would follow and assist in taking down the prey without a hitch.

The brute gave a slow nod of his head in confirmation that he would do as Maia instructed alongside Thrain. Taking down the Addax was easy enough and almost felt like he wasn't at all necessary as the others had done a well enough work on their own without needing his extra weight thrown around. He didn't bother trying to take any of the meal and instead left it to the ladies before moving whatever was left away from the crime scene and to a proper storage facility. They would no doubt be needing this food at some point regardless of weather or numbers so best they keep someone in an emergency. exit jafar
