Kimagure had already found Eina a much easier child to care for than Colbert. Unlike the boy, she was not afraid to kill her prey, she was obedient and polite. The lioness enjoyed her company. Her eyes flicked down to Eina when the girl’s hackles raised, but she did as she was told. The lioness returned her eyes to the female who was watching, noting how her body language became even more relaxed and the woman nodded at her. Kimagure nodded as well. It put her at more ease. The black and white lioness’s position would mean Kimagure would have plenty of time to react if she charged.

The fawn’s struggles finally ceased, the creature stilling. Kimagure waited for another couple minutes. ”You can let go now, it’s over,” the lioness finally said, releasing the fawn. ”You did very well.”

The lioness sat back on her haunches, rising to her full height. The half dried mud cracked and flaked, little poofs of brown dust coming off the female as she moved. Kimagure had done this so many times she was accustomed to it. She would need to wash the mud from her coat later, but there were other things to attend to now.

Eina

Eina was growing bored with how long this was taking. Nevertheless, she didn't falter, and the knowledge that someone else was nearby hadn't left her mind. She stayed alert, just in case something happened. Though, before she knew it, Kimagure had told her she could let go. Finally! Slowly, her jaws parted, and she licked her lips, consuming the blood that had leaked into her own mouth from the fawn. Immediately, as Kimagure's praise made it to her ears, the dark cub looked around, searching until the black-and-white lioness was spotted. Her dark head swung at Kimagure, the cub debating for a moment.

She had considered shuffling closer to the lioness, part of her yearning safety, as she would get with her father. However, the gnawing worries that painted Kimagure as dangerous, or ill-intentioned kept her in place. Her chest twisted with anxiety as her gaze moved back to the stranger. "Does she want our deer?" Eina wouldn't blame a stranger for wanting food. She had, countless times, sat back, waiting as predators feasted, only approaching what was left of the remains when said predators had left with bellies full. That didn't mean the dark cub liked the idea of it happening to her. Besides--Eina wouldn't have had to wait every time if she wasn't so young and inexperienced. If she were big, like Kimagure, and knew how to fight, she was sure she would've attempted to chase away the feasting predators if she stood a chance.

Tamotsu had been stalking further from his mother then normal lately. However having taken her scent and followed. It had been a few days since he had seen her last. It took a moment to track her down, and upon arrival, he noticed her, a cub he didnt know, and another he didnt know, however his mother was instructing the young lioness. He quickly padded to there side and kept his body ready, just in case there maybe be a fight. "I see you have been hunting," was all he spoke. As there was a stranger near.

He knew his mother would tell him the important things, like who this cub was when the time came. But for now he would stand by them ready to defend.

    The young one did well. Guided by her mother, the life was sapped from the fawn by the power of the cub's jaws. As it was over, the parent sat up. Strange, how bits and pieces of her fur fell away. Was it some kind of skin disease? Mange? Some in the Pack had suffered of it, but this... didn't look quite the same. Curiosity saw the pearl and obsidian one peer a bit closer, head tilted like a canine. Too much like a canine to be coincidence.
    A snort, half of amusement, half of bemusement, was given at the cub's words. Though weight could be gained to no detriment, hunger was not gnawing at this one's stomach. Nor did her posture or behavior bely such a desire as to steal. No. This one was no scum to take rightful possessions of others. She did not dine at the expense of others. Noting the cub gazing at her, blue eyes tried to catch hers. And a firm shake of head was given in the negative.
    The presence of another gave startle to this one. A sharp exhalation of unpleasant surprise in time with a roll onto the stomach, rear legs beneath and prepared to leap. There was an expression of rude regard as the male moved to join the mother and daughter, but nothing of threat. To challenge a mother with her cub was suicide. Even this one knew that. To do so when odds would be tipped so terribly against? Idiocy.
    Irritated that she had been unnerved, the relaxed hip-lay position could not be resumed. In lieu of that, a slow blink was offered to the three. An action that a wolf would never do. Never have to do. But came naturally to the newfound feline instincts. "You keep what you earn." A statement to, with any hope, express that any portion of the kill was not desired.

Kimagure Stagner

A beating heart of stone...

Kimagure's eyes flicked down at @Eina when her question came, but before she could speak, @Tamotsu joined them. The male did not give away the fact that he had not met Eina, instead making a simple observation. Kimagure was grateful, not only because the numbers were well within her favor if the female had indeed decided to cause any issues, but also because it was her opportunity to introduce the girl to her son.

The female stated simply: You keep what you earn. Kimagure slipped around the kill and attempted to draw nearer to the female, noting the slow blink of her eyes that indicated she meant no harm. The mud flaked from her as she moved, revealing a little of her natural fur color.

"Kimagure Stagner, I am appreciative you did not interrupt her first kill. It is a trying time for a child," she began, voice smooth as she attempted to stop a few feet from the other woman, her tail tip drifting back and forth calmly.

Eina

A male had joined the group, and Eina's blood ran cold. He was bigger than Kimagure! Her limbs tensed, and her claws scraped below her. She was urged to shuffle closer to Kimagure, though she hesitated. Instead, she stayed in place, working to keep the male and the black-and-white female in her field of view. He seemed to know her guardian, so that made the situation seem a bit better. As the black-and-white lioness' words flowed into her dark ears, Eina realized something. Kimagure did mention she had a son, and that he was larger than her. Was this him?

She drew in a breath, as silently as she could possibly manage as she watched Kimagure move. She didn't really want Kimagure to leave her alone with the male, but she couldn't say anything about it. Instead, she remained still, working to keep the male at the corner of her eye as she watched the two lionesses in anxious silence.
