NATURE’S WRATH

Spring comes in like a lion.
Something is anew.
Nature is calming.
Nature is thriving.
Will you heal?

Warm sun beams down through the tree's branches. The light touches, kisses light, on the new sprouting of young leaves and shoots that are beginning to emerge. Spring, the season of rebirth, has come at last to the Grove as winter fades. The prolonged cold has stalled some animal's reproductive nature but now that the seasons are swinging they are becoming more active. The birds especially seem feverish today- flocks of flamboyant males dance around with bright displays of feathers. Other species gather as many sticks as can be carried to stash away into hollows for nests. There are a great deal of trinkets available for collection today. Feathers, flowers, herbs. All free for the taking on this beautiful day long overdue.

Ghyslaine

Strolling through the glade, she studies the pretty birds who have all returned to the land. She was more amused than she should be that they all seemed to e strutting their stuff- trying to attract their mates. She wondered, how many cubs would come now that spring was finally here- that the weather was finally yielding to something more livable.

There is a fragrant scent of herbs in the air, and Ghyslaine lets out a contented sigh. “If this isn’t lovely, then I don’t know what is.” She said aloud, with a grin, as she looked up to the sun that filtered through the trees- as she studied the happy world around her. Ghyslaine was happy that spring was finally here.

Now that the land was becoming normal again, Faelyn felt it safe to roam outside of the Hollow once more. She didn't have any particular destination in mind, but she eventually found herself at the Glade, which seemed to have changed considerably. Now spring was in full swing, and the birds were making up for lost time.

She realized, as she wandered, that some of the things the birds had gathered were actually useful, and so she began to roam about and gather some of them up. Particularly the herbs, some of which she noticed were good for expectant mothers. She didn't know that they had any in the pride at the moment, but the previous litters they'd had, including her own, were well on their way to grown, so she expected there would likely be more soon. Besides, it never hurt to have some at the ready, especially since they would just dry out and go bad for nothing if left here.

if she thought the brook was pretty, then the glade is a paradise. finally it seems as though spring has begun — life comes back into the lands, slow but steady. she smiles to see it, always happy to see winter left behind, especially with how horrid this winter had been. and lonely, too. perhaps that's why she's drawn towards the pair of lionesses — @Ghyslaine, a stranger who smelled of a jungle and @Faelyn, familiar but only just. it's easy to put her collecting on hold for now ( the plants here were unfamiliar to her, but now that they are coming back to life she cannot help but grab a few that will assist her pride ), chuffing softly as she steps towards the firnen woman. the white-pelted woman looked too busy at the moment so lilac ears tip forward towards the golden-hued girl, grinning a matching smile. it's wonderful, isn't it? she says with a breathless sort of joy. i was starting to think we'd never see spring again...

She isn’t alone in her solitude for long, when others appear. A lioness who smells like the pride that Mire male had challenged for. @Faelyn and then another- @Dhaveira who smelled of the Brook. She offers them both a smile, and turns her eyes back to the herbs that are present with a soft sigh. The floral and tangy scent infiltrates her lungs and soothes her spirit. “I didn’t think we would ever get back to this either.” She says softly, before introducing herself to them. “My name is Ghyslaine.” She says. “I live in the rainforest and it’s coming back too.. but not like this.”

Finally had they been given that final surrender of peace, quiet. The rains receded, the fires burned out, the glade left free of its chaotic hold. And oh, the birds—how they danced and hooted and crowed. Tinúviel watched with wonder how bright plumage swept from tree-to-tree, fascinating displays of reds and golds and greens as birds leapt and danced all about them. It had been so long since she'd been able to hear their blissful crooning, and Tinúviel closed her eyes, relishing in that freeing moment.

She thought the destruction would never have ended. How wonderful this were now, to see this country freed of its blighted shackles.

When she happened upon them, it was by accident. She'd been so distracted by the symphonies of the birds that she'd not heard them speak, so mesmerized by their colorful caterwauling that she'd not seen nor scented them. By the time Tinúviel was there, she was there, mere paces from their small gathering group. She recognized none of them, each baring the scents of different prides unfamiliar to Tinúviel. But all were women, and she was thankful in that regard. Far too often was she unlucky enough to fall into the clutches of far more machinating men.

With a surprise squeak!, Tinúviel barely stopped herself in enough time to keep from crashing into one of them.

It's hard to look at anything but the flowers. She's always adored spring ( she hated winter, and so was always grateful for the thaw ), and to see it here... a wistful little sound rumbles from her throat, smiling as she flexes toes to press into the green. As if she can hardly believe it's here. As if she's relieved this isn't just a dream. That's good to hear, she murmurs to @Ghyslaine, offering a smile. The brook is finally starting to thaw, too. And still it is no match for this. At her feet are a collection of herbs she's gathered, all tried and true plants. It wasn't much but it was a start, a little cache all her own. With all the birds being so active though there were plenty of feathers scattered around -- perhaps she'd sneak one home for revna? She's pulled from this evil plot though by TINÚVIEl's squeak and sudden appearance. Oh! She says, surprised -- a nervous little smile turning her lips. Are you alright? Lost in thought? Od maybe too busy admiring the scenery?

The flowers are a breathtaking piece of scenery. It makes her heart swell within her chest, and she wants to capture this moment in her head. She stares at the flowers, wanting to run into the middle of them and romp through them. She remembers that she had met Violarum in a field of flowers once, and the feeling makes the warm fuzzies bloom in her heart. Maybe should should take some flowers back to his mate- a present for the new mother.

Another lioness arrives, @Tinúviel with a squeak as she nearly crashed into one of them. She studies her with a concerned expression, and waits to hear that she is indeed okay if she answers @Dhaveira .

Finally, with a nod at @Faelyn and the others, she would step forward and pick a couple of the prettiest flowers, and with a smile, she would step back.

“I need to be going.” She would murmur around the flowers. “See you around.” She adds.

It appeared that she'd arrived at a less-than-opportune time; the gathered lionesses were swiftly departing, and Tinúviel was left, disheveled and embarrassed. She'd been so excited by the new regrowth that she'd simply ignored what all else happened around her. Wordlessly, her wide and wild gaze regards @Dhaveira as she spoke, attempting desperately to catch her breath amidst the crooning of all the birds around them, and the herbs scattered all at their feet. I'm so sorry, I didn't mean— she apologizes swiftly, turning her hazel gaze away. I was just so distracted by the birds. Don't you think they're a lot more lively than usual? Her gaze turned skyward, watching as they nearly blotted out the sky with their flocks.

Her gaze finally rests upon @Ghyslaine as she leaves, her lips curving into a worried frown, hoping it was not because of her that the lioness made her swift depart. However, this brief meeting could only have been chalked up to pure chance, and with the different scents of prides on each of them, it was bound to be awkward at best. Her gaze returned to Dhaveira and @Faelyn, wondering if they would soon take their leave, too.

She wondered quietly, though, if they knew what had spurred such a beautiful display, a blissful growth.

The other woman is flustered and embarrassed, but eira weathers it all in stride. No harm done, she says breezily, her smile nothing short of bright. She wcomes her easily to their little gossip circle -- even as the firnen woman takes her leave. Eira smiles after her before looking back to Tin, brows furrowing for a brief moment. I don't know for sure, eira murmurs, a quiet disclaimer for what comes next. But -- I think it's a good sign! Birds returning always meant spring, didn't it? And maybe, hopefully, spring would mean an end to the strange weather. I don't think they'd be so excited if something good wasn't coming. She says, a quiet and hopeful tone in her voice. And they seem very excited! The glade was full of birdsong and eiras giggles, a melodic cacophony. Whole flocks seemed to be coming and going, the day a flurry of activity.
