When she hears Leander’s call, she is luckily not at home. She moves towards the pit quickly, curious to see… Leander was challenging for a pride? She had always thought that he seemed happy in the Oasis- ruling along with his brother. That, however, wasn’t her business, she reminded herself as she stepped down into the pit, to where she could sit and watch.

She moves down, coming to sit down across from @Seneca who she would nod at if he happened to look her way. Her eyes land on @Zelda and she would shoot the lioness a smile- wondering what she was thinking about the current events. Would Antares take advantage of the chaos and come to challenge for her again?

She sees Amaroq and that other Mire male from the fire that she doesn’t know, and if they happened to look her way- she would nod in their direction, but aside from that- Ghyslaine would sit in silence, fixating her gaze on @Leander. Good Luck, she silently wished.

Léonie followed on the heels of her dad, or near enough to him that she arrived not long after the Oasis king. A fresh crowd was beginning to gather around the arena, however it was not yet busy — the defending leader was nowhere to be seen, but the desert daughter knew that it was only a matter of time before the challenge was answered and chaos ultimately reared its ugly head.

The piebald coat that her dad wore quickly grabbed her attention — but then the white mane of @Vághan stole it away. To her surprise, they were seated next to one another, with Alma filling the position on her dad’s other side. Oh, darn. It looked like she had no choice but to sit herself next to Vághan then, rather than her dad.

Dark paws carried her over to the magenta-eyed Mire male and there, in his shadow, Léonie plopped her rump down. A delighted smile greeted him, but as she settled in, her hazel eyes drifted to the growing crowd, wondering when the Bluffs pride would show. Trouble would not be far behind their arrival …

A call for Wolfbron. Amidst all the chaos that the world was falling into, someone actually thought it was a good idea to challenge for a pride? Well, actually, that wasn't a bad idea. Roan still teetered on a thin agreement of neutrality with Amara, so to hear someone challenging for the Dieudonne's pride was not entirely bothersome, but yet the Hodari still felt the need to see the outcome. Whatever his opinion of the woman and her continued allegiance to Vermier, it could not be denied that Amara had ruled Wolfbron steadily. She had proven herself in battle on more than one occasion, and her pridemates were no pushovers either should things go south. With the challenge emanating from the pit, though, the Hodari felt it less dangerous to attend than the last call for the Bluff crown. Neutral territory was less likely to erupt into chaos, but it was no guarantee that the sidelines still couldn't turn into war.

As Roan grew nearer to the pit, the scent of Ecrosia actually hit his nostrils first, leading the man to think that maybe it was one of them who had called for the challenge. Once his minty gaze fell into the center of the pit, however, there was no denying the similarity between the challenger and his patched brother. Andal. Another Andal challenger was coming for Amara. With no one along the sidelines of any familiarity to the Hodari, though, Roan opted to take a seat along the upper edge of the pit by himself. There was surprisingly little attendance from the Wolfbron clan, but then again, it was still early.

Following, as she must, Aidoneus let her child bound further ahead. There sat a furrow to her brow, watching the white-tipped ears bound towards the Pit. It was never a place Aidoneus cared to venture, but the excitement tensed the air. Riddled the huntress with a foreboding sense—danger lay ahead. The apprehension was a stone, made heavier as all those familiar came to view. Dredging the scene with a concerned expression, it did not take much to understand what was happening, or guess what was to come. She passed an uneasy look towards @Seneca, should he catch her eye behind the figures surrounding him. Instead of intruding in the spaces between, she took a place behind @Léonie. Not one to pray, she wasn’t prepared to start that instance. So, instead, she sat poised and a tangle of knots.

With adrenaline palpable in the air over matters young Minerva could not begin to understand, it was no surprise the babe tried to follow after the first figure she saw. She took toddling steps, doing her best to try and keep up with Léonie's figure in the distance and only occasionally getting distracted by things like butterflies and hares scurrying in the grasses. When she did manage to find her sister at the end of the trail, she was joined by several other lions who smelled funny. Some were like stinky mud while others stank like sour stone, all of it wafting together until her head hurt at the overstimulation of it. Frustration renewing her resolve, Minerva attempted to weave her way in between her stepmother and her half-sister, trying to plop herself squarely between Léonie's charcoal legs for shade and shelter, uncaring of whether or not the teen actually wanted her there. Down from the bluffs, confident and purposeful strides carried him eagerly toward what was certain to be a hell of a show. Amara had soundly defeated the last Oasis lion who'd been stupid enough to challenge her rule, and Ryker did not expect any potential usurper to fully understand the danger they'd likely be in should they win. The ruling family was an odd one, especially toward outsiders. There was something in the way they looked at enemies that had often made him wonder if Vermier's tendency to refer to others as 'gazelle' was more...literal among them.

By the time he arrived, there was already a growing crowd, but it seemed he'd still outpaced Amara herself. A wicked grin flashed across his face as he drew close enough to see who had already shown. So many to choose from! Ah! And the challenger was none other than the white-and-black bitch who'd insinuated himself into Ryker's own challenge not long ago. He'd very much like to see Amara (very literally) hand the man his own ass.

He spotted the andal leader himself, and the girl he'd caused so much trouble over. And even the dumb bastard who'd disfigured Apollinaire.

Ryker had no information on the status of the oasis ranks, or how many they had that would be able to defend if Wolfbron should come calling at their door. He did, however, recognize keeping the king himself busy and away from his pride was a pretty good strategy.

For the moment, he prowled the opposite edge of the pit, sneering down at the man who sought to take the bluffs and letting the frustration that they'd managed to make the first move fester and boil within, to fuel him in the violence that was sure to erupt very soon.

+5 Observe a fight

When the call rang out, it occurred to him that it might be wise to remain in the Oasis in case any from the Bluffs decided to take advantage of the challenge to sneak in or otherwise cause trouble, but he also knew it was highly likely that something would break out at the actual challenge, and so he headed to the Pit.

A good portion of the pride was there already, as well as the typical observers for such things. His gaze scanned the crowd, keeping a particular eye on the male who he had sparred with before and who had attempted to steal one of their own. If something broke out, he would be prepared.

She knew the call was coming. She'd not expected it so soon, among the chaos and destruction that lay waste to the lands of Amaryllis, but mother nature was hard-pressed to try and quell the ambitious drive of lionkind. Leander had made his stance abundantly clear, and when his call came, Halimede would be one of his most staunch and vocal supporters. Halimede descended down the sides of the Pit just as the crowds were beginning to gather, wide and curious eyes glancing about all the spectators, familiar faces and strangers and everything in between. Her gaze briefly flits to @Seneca and @Alma, and hasty is she to worm her way over toward them.

Excited and nervousness thrummed in her veins. She'd never quite seen such ambition come to fruition from one she considered so closer. Violarum's challenge had gone off completely unscathed, but from what she'd heard of the Bluffs, he would more than likely find no such luck here. Thus, she anticipated the battle with bated breath, cheering for her mate under her breath, in a rare moment of seriousness for Halimede.

One thing was for sure was that he was quite thankful he was pretty checked out from the politics of Amaryllis. It was nice to not truly know the intricacies of allies and friends that were present but it did (occasionally) become a reminder that he had not done a whole lot as of late. He had known that Amara has led Wolfbron Bluffs for quite some time now and that Seneca was the leader of Andal (thanks to his level two ambassador perk) which was where this challenger hailed from by the smell of it. He also was quick to remember that Andal was a friendly pride with Vermeda and the Bluffs more of a keep your distance situation.

Thus coming to The Pit was a nice change where he did not have to feel too guilty for wandering into a pride territory to get information. The only two that he recognized was @Ophelia and @Tullia, making his way to them (in the event that Tullia had gone to sit next to Ophelia, I think?!) and taking his seat on an open side. Gesturing to the two of them that he was there as a friend as well as a shield, should anything happen. Pride challenges tended to get little spicy sometimes and he would hate to see anything happen to them.

the world pulled apart at the seams, and the wheat king heard another call rise above the chaos. wolfbron was not yet an ally, but they had fought at the war on the same side, so that meant something to the starke. enough to pull him from his home and drag him towards the summons, hardly surprised to see a miroslav as the one to issue the call. what did surprise him was seeing vaghan cozy up with the oasis king, and ghyslaine offer a nod as if they were old friends too. suspicious by nature, he did not approach either of them, positioning himself far from the gathered oasis lions. alaric was hyper aware of @Aidoneus' presence, too, but he was feeling far too... sullen... to play any games right now. instead he flopped back on to his rump with a huff of displeasure, equal distance between @amaroq and @Zelda. his gaze swung from the first to the second, wondering if her boyfriend would show up for another fight. "fine timing," he muttered, a baleful eye cast to the sky as his words were meant for whomever felt like talking..
