Happy One Month Anniversary to Amaryllis! We made it to one month, and you have all been rocking it! We are so blown away by how active the community has been -- and so, from the entire Staff team, we would like to say a huge, huge, thank you!
We are looking for feedback from you. Please fill this out. When you are done GET A SCREENSHOT. You can request 60 petals if you post a screenshot in Petal Updates, after you have submitted it. We would like everyone to take the time to fill this out so we can get an idea where we are and what we still need to work on.
We received a number of applications, which was amazing, and we are so appreciative for everyone who reached out to us. We couldn't accept all of them, but thank you to everyone who applied -- we will definitely need more hands down the line!
With that being said, please give a warm welcome to @Nova, @Rhaps, @CrowValkairi, @Daanyen, @Cat, and @cloudynight as our newest members of the Staff team!
And, in case you missed it on the Discord, @Bunny and @Gunner ★ have also been promoted to Senior Staff! /throws confetti
Our new batch of Staff members will be getting trained over the coming weeks, so please be patient and kind to them as they learn their way through their duties and responsibilities. As Amaryllis' community continues to grow, we will continue to look at expanding the Staff team and working eternally to make sure the site runs smoothly and efficiently.
If you are ever interested in being a Staff member on-site, here are some things to keep in mind, and what we look for:
- Above all else, are they a kind person on-site and in Discord?
- Are they active, and would they mesh well with our current team?
- How do they balance sharing new ideas and minimizing conflict with others? If there is a history of conflict, we will always try to break it down and look at it objectively, for context.
- What is their availability and accessibility like? The majority of our training is done through Discord, so that can be an important factor for us.
- And do we feel, as a group, that we can trust them with sometimes sensitive topics?
For a limited time, we will be allowing members to create native dead characters, to help facilitate the Cleric trade and other aspects of our Afterlife system. There will be strict guidelines in place, so if you are interested, please keep reading.
- There will be a 10 day window where these afterlife characters can be created and auditioned on-site.
- They must have a native family member on site (with a minimum of 30 posts), and the dead character must have died on Amaryllis.
- They have to stay in the Hidden Grotto, and they all enter as Spectres.
- You can upgrade them to Idol by using an afterlife pass, or by making 100 posts with the afterlife character.
- We expect a certain level of activity from the afterlife characters, and you should be willing to help Cleric characters work on their trades ICly.
You guys have been doing so well with the BWP, and posting in general! In one month, we have made over 5,500 posts on site and have registered over 400 accounts!
Not including today's release, there are two more forums and two more prides waiting to be unlocked. We are so close to the end, and hope you guys have been enjoying slowly discovering the lands and the unique territories/prides.
Last one, we promise! Drum roll, please, as we announce the release of Amaryllis' new theme, which has been made and designed for us by @Dusk!
- You can switch between themes/skins in two ways: either at the drop-down menu at the bottom of the homepage, or through the UserCP.
- The new theme will be called "Dusk Before the Dawn".
For the new skin (and in general), there are a few things to note:
- We are encouraging everyone, no matter what skin you're using, to start using % over px widths for images in their coding. This helps make the site more mobile-friendly, and is easier when transitioning between skins.
- So, for example: you have a reference image in your character's profile that is Code:
<img src="image link" width="500px">
- You would go in, and change the code to Code:
<img src="image link" style="width:80%;">
-- or whatever other percentage of the box you want the image to fill. - This is not mandatory, but can be really helpful for mobile users, for making the skins cohesive, and for making profiles look good across both options!
- Please remember to close your <*div*> and <*/div*> in posts, or else you risk breaking the site's coding.
- The layouts are slightly different, and things may have moved spots around the site. Please try to find what you're looking for, before flagging it as a bug or an error to Staff.
- The recent thread plug-in does not auto-refresh on the new skin or show the thread icons -- please refresh or click "view more recent posts" to get a full list.
- Moving forward, if you are reporting a bug on Discord, you must specify what skin you are on.
Please be patient as we work through small errors or bugs; we hope you guys enjoy all the new skin and theme options we have, and that are underway!
— Sincerely, the Staff Team
