The Hodari could not deny the tremendous help @Jafar had been to him, and Obsidian as a whole, since the Bronze male had sought a place among the leadership. Roan was fortunate enough to be able to trust his cousin-in-law wholeheartedly, and thus the news to come would hardly be expected. Still, the mauve lion had wondered when and if @Faelyn might ever wish to be queen again now that their children were already a few months old. It was a bridge the masked man had yet to cross with either of them, fearing the day he might actually have to ask Jafar to step down for Fae's return. Luckily, however, Roan just might be able to sidestep that awkward request as he made his way to Jafar's call, unknowing that the arrangement might just happen on its own organically. "Jafar," the High Sovereign greeted warmly as he moved to sit opposite his sovereign. Since Far was called for as well, though, Roan would refrain from asking anything until she was there as well.
"Hello, hello," she said cheerfully, brushing up against her mate's side as she plopped her butt down beside him with a quiet purr. "How are you Jafar?" she asked, wondering what he had called them both here for and hoping it wasn't anything bad for his sake. She had enjoyed talking to him when they'd had a chance to a little while ago, and she knew he too had a mate and children.
It wasn't long before @Faelyn soon joined the pair as well, prompting Roan to lean into her touch as the pale figure brushed up against him. A subtle purr rumbled in his throat briefly before returning his attention towards his cousin-in-law. Curiosity was abound as to what this little meeting could be for, but luckily, @Jafar would not leave them guessing for much longer. The bronze male cut right to the chase, voicing his desires to step down early from his position of Sovereign. Now with his own brood of children, Roan could understand the need to keep tabs on all of them. He shuttered to think about if any of his kids should go missing at this age, and fully understood the need and desire to refocus one's attention on the young. The masked man nodded his understanding graciously. "Of course, Jafar. I understand. Your time as Sovereign has been a great help to Obsidian, but one's family should come first." There was no ill will within the High Sovereign's tone as he spoke. "I cannot thank you enough for helping me - helping us - as a co-leader in the Hollow. It has been a pleasure to rule beside you."
That being said, it begged the question of if Faelyn was ready to return to her position as queen. Though their children were still young, they were no longer such tiny helpless things as when they were first born. They were likely old enough to not need supervision at every hour of the day from at least one of their parents. With the rank of Sovereign now vacant once more, Roan would turn his minty gaze towards his wife. "Fae, are you ready to be Sovereign again or do you want more time?" There was no pressure to have her return to the role despite the Hodari's desires to once again rule beside his wife. He could lead on his own for a time again if needed, but it only made sense to as the pale woman's opinion.
Ah so he had taken over as Sovereign while she was otherwise occupied. She had thought she remembered Roan mentioning something about it, but really she'd been too focused on their children. That was why she had stepped down in the first place. Well, from what she'd gotten to see of Jafar, he'd been lovely in the position.
Concern crossed her features at the mention of someone being missing again, especially as she knew Jafar's children were close in age to her own, unless he had others that were older of course, which was entirely possible.
She nodded in agreement with Roan's sentiment, knowing that her mate said it best. He'd had the opportunity to rule alongside Jafar for the past few months after all. Roan questioned whether she was ready to lead again, and she gave the matter a moment of serious thought, as was befitting the answer. "I am," she replied once she had decided. She would do better this time around as well, she promised herself.
"What does Amandil look like? I will keep an eye out for him," she asked, determined to help find the child. It worried her that there was one out there separated from his family.
@Jafar @Roan
Uh, he's dark gray nearly black in color. Dark purple eyes like mine. Dark eye circles and under eye spots. Vaguely a child of both he and Maia's genetics but with a slightly darker appeal to him. Jafar wished to express to them to not go out of their way to search for him. That if it were in the world's plan or whoever was out there that he would return to them but as far as he could think, it was out of his paws now. He and Maia had warned the children not to go venture into the mist and lo and behold the one child he specifically didn't want to go into it, did so anyways.
ooc: sorry I completely missed the tag!
It was an easy shift to return @Faelyn to her position as queen beside him, though Roan didn't want to leave @Jafar empty pawed either. Feeling like he knew the bronze man a little better now that they'd spent some time together in the Hollow, the Hodari didn't expect that his cousin-in-law would wish to stay stagnant for too long. Even if just a lower rank was all he wanted, the king would still like to offer him the chance at something.
Roan first looked to his wife as a gentle smile formed across his face. "My queen," he rumbled while aiming to nuzzle briefly into her cheek. While the pale woman would always be a queen to him, he was happy to see her return to being a queen to the whole pride. Even more so, Roan was excited for his children to see their parents ruling together. With all of that formality easily taken care of, though, the focus would shift onto their missing family member.
Faelyn asked for a description of Amandil, and while Jafar described the boy, Roan picked out his image from his memory of first meeting the small family. It was a shame that the child had gone missing already, but also not unheard of. They could only hope that he was at least safe wherever he was. "We will all keep a watch out for him," the Hodari echoed of his wife's words with a firm nod of his head. The pride had helped look for Jai when he went missing, after all. It was only right that Roan and Fae return the favor in regards to Amandil. "Would you still like some sort of rank in Obsidian, Jafar? Maybe something less demanding if you want more time with your family as well."
She nodded as Jafar described his missing child, committing the description to memory. Shouldn't be too hard to find a cub who looked like that, she decided. Just, hopefully it wouldn't take too long.
"Always," she replied with a purr as Roan nuzzled her cheek, rubbing hers against his in return. She promptly focused on Jafar again though, as he was offered another rank in replacement of the one he had just vacated. She ran through a mental list of the ranks they still had open, knowing Lead Medic and Scout were still available, as well as their barony of course. And heir, but she doubted he would want that considering he wanted less responsibility. She, like Roan, was more than willing to offer any of those ranks to Jafar should he want them now, or at any point in the future.
@Jafar @Roan
