There was some small triumph as he felt his attacks land, but the taste of her blood was hardly worth the taste of the fur that protected it. Khal grimaced against it but aimed to tighten his jaws before attempting to pull his jaws backward and away from her shoulder and against his own throat as he felt her fang's find their own mark, raking through his mane and puncturing young flesh on the left side of his neck. His balance still weighted to three limbs, Khal would attempt to slam his right paw back down toward the earth, aiming with claws out for his opponent's planted left toes. for Minor Maim (TBD) ii/v Hits: Rolling 5d20: 5 + 15 + 12 + 3 + 11 Dodges: Rolling 4d20: 19 + 18 + 5 + 10 Luck: Rolling 6d20: 13 + 2 + 15 + 6 + 3 + 19 |

Summer
Summer is in full swing now, with clear skies, warm nights, and ample sunshine! As such, the deserts begin to grow dry, the shores remain a blissful escape, the north is spared with cooling winds, and humidity continues to rise in the jungle. Rain and storms are long forgotten troubles by now, which is both a virtue and a vice during the heat of the season.

Hey! Calhoun's head whips around, salmon eyes falling upon a brightly colored yearling who is doing everything in his power to seem bigger and tougher than he is. The scarred captain sees through the boy's pseudo confidence, as does @Leviathan, who is quick to shove the problem off onto the dragon. A crooked smirk splits across his lips, and he makes no effort to slow his pace into the swamp, just as content as his master-at-arms to bulldoze @Zosimos out of his way if he has to.
"Go ahead an' stop us if ye can," he taunts with a chuckle, clearly seeing no sort of threat from the pastel Mire lion. Perhaps if he had backup, Calhoun might take the situation more seriously, but it's really just comical as it currently stands.

Máni's teeth clamp down and the male's eyes rolled in enjoyment as he attempted to start shaking his head back and forth in an attempt to grip down harder and in an attempt to dig his teeth as deeply into her as he could. Her bite toward his head landed but the shaking of his head kept her from being able to get a grip on his ear. His claws hook into her tender flesh but he didn't have the time to enjoy that as she decided that he knew what he was doing and copied him. Her claws broke through his skin and blood seeped out of his body. Máni removed his claws from her armpit and attempted to claw into the outside of her leg, like the other side of the armpit(i can put a dot on lineart if you need). Oh, how he wished he would be able to claw down to her leg bone but he knew that would be a harder thing to do with her fighting back in such a manner so for now, he would settle. Their battle was going to leave one of them remembering the other for a very long time.

She really didn't fully understand why there was so much fighting. Her understanding of these things was very limited. She was here only because her mother was. Her claws sliced his skin and it was joyful but she had to focus. He was bigger than her and she hadn't been in a fight since getting back from the mist. She was rusty. He faced her and clawed at her chest, holding nothing back it would seem. The pain from the clawing was a lot and Elaine reared up and "attempted" to claw at his face with both her claws in an effort to get him to back the hell off. She balanced herself very carefully on her back legs so that she could remain in the position she was and not get taken down to quickly.

One attack averted, good. She twisted though, trying to fold herself in half to get at his left front limb. Ryker, for his part, would attempt to use the continued grip with his right front paw on her hip to help him rear up slightly - trying to push her rear down as he rose. Fangs would un-latch from flesh as his left front paw would rise in an attempt to take their place and find a grip on the girl's left side, just past her left hip, and press down. Even if it meant bringing said limb closer to her own searching jaws and suffering her fangs clipping the outer side of his lower left forearm. Rear paws shuffled to try and keep him in line with her, trying to make it as difficult as possible for her to twist and reach him.
Jaws sought a new target - while he couldn't reach her scruff without getting much further on top of her, he aimed to grab and hold as close as possible. Fairly evenly-sized, there was only so much he could do with weight and force alone. But a little psychological terror? A little implication that he might just take the fight much further, and into an entirely different territory, even among a crowd...well, he was hoping it might cause enough panic or uncertainty to make her hesitate or falter.
Would he, truly, if given the chance? Well...most others were distracted, but there were still enough spectators hanging around they'd almost certainly be interrupted before he got too far.

Soon enough, the Captain himself appeared, and then Roarke, and it was almost like the good old days again. He'd missed proper raids; there was only so much one could do on their own, and his thieving had lessened during his travels.
Edward had intended to continue searching his own area until the group neared and he could join them without crossing the battlefield. However, a garishly pink boy chose to make a stance, of sorts, and the posturing brought an amused smirk to his face. Instead of waiting for the rest to join him, Ed chuckled to himself and moved to try and come up behind @Zosimos - leaving enough room for the youngster to make the right choice and back off to let them through, but close enough to jump right in if he wanted to test his luck as his fellow crewmates moved to pass the boy by.
"Consider it a lesson in pickin' battles. Y'll live longer." Should the others continue unimpeded, he'd join in following alongside them. One yearling was no more a threat to them than a fly buzzing around their ears.

Emrik
He can see his brother’s confusion, and understand it, in a way. Emrik had thought he was worth something, that he was strong, before he’d been proven wrong. Before he’d been given a chance to be better. Finn wouldn’t understand much, though, because he was born bigger and stronger and better. There had always been a difference between Emrik and his littermates, some piece in him that set him apart from them. They had something he just didn’t.
"You’re the only one that knows, or cares, that I’m here." He says flatly, absolutely believing it to be true. "Not even Vellen cares about me." Because he is worthless, a god wouldn’t bother with the likes of him. Emrik had not felt the sea in so long, he’s almost forgotten it, but he longs for the salt air.
@Finnulf is determined to disagree, but Emrik is only silent and patient as the older boy goes on. It is kindness, Emrik knows. Brotherly love blinding him to the truth. But the grey boy’s ears do flick forward at the mention of a father - even as something in the back of Emrik’s mind begs him to be careful. To be a pirate, to be free - it’s too good to be true.
Emrik shakes his head. "Take Ciri and be pirates with him. I won’t become strong if I leave now. I need to stay. I’ll get strong and then I’ll find you."

A fly comes buzzing, irritating and distracting but no threat. Roarke laughs, highly amused by the boy’s bold attempt to defend the stocks. The dragon might have a little respect for it as well; even a youth his age would know he could easily get his ass handed to him by any of the crew, let alone the ones outnumbering him. Good for him, that he's brave enough to stand in the face of danger.
The crew mostly attempts to step around the boy, leaving him to Roarke or letting him be (they aren't child killers, or beaters). Roarke pointedly attempts to stand in front of @Zosimos, trying to block his path from further interrupting the rest. And now, closer, the giant can look down at the stocky boy and see some particular similarities to another, older lion. A near perfect replica of Zoticus, younger and stupid, stands before him. Too old to be the bastard cubs of Arjana and Zoticus, but blood of the turncloak all the same.
Something snaps in Roarke’s mind, and immediately the thought of plunder is forgotten. His attention locks on the boy, and remains there. With @Edward on his back end, the boy should be locked between them. Perfect.
"Where’s your father, boy?" Roarke asks, voice vibrating with the beginnings of a low growl. "Answer me honestly and I’ll let you run back to your mother’s legs."

can i kiss you before i kill you? Her ears perk rather excitedly towards the ongoing fight between Brynja and Leander, and in the end, the latter comes up victorious, with the former collapsing unconsciously to the earth. "Oh, how unfortunate," she tuts disappointedly, though her only complaint is that her (former) pridemate had not put on a better show. She can see Leander searching for her, but maintains her position for the moment, watching him tote the half-haired lioness off the battlefield. Well, that should be interesting. Glancing back towards Zelda, she offers an idle simper. "That's my cue," she quips casually. "Looks like I'm going with him." Freya nods towards Leander's departing form, shimmying her way back towards the trunk of the tree and skirting down the far side, away from the brawl that her companion had been watching. She slips away as quietly as she had come, following after the trail left in Leander's wake, a buzzing of curious thoughts on her mind. Exeunt Freya |

The pair are cast into a mostly useless position that couldn't really be good for anyone. Perhaps, if Violarum hadn't have been flailing his forelimbs about wildly to keep Antares back, they might have both ended the fight mostly unscathed. You live and you learn.
The Andal pest wails about something, but there is a mighty sensation of building pressure that sends Violarum packing - scrambling up to his feet. But he realises the kid has regained his grip on the same limb he had targeted earlier. With the protecting flesh already worn down, Antares' grip suddenly gives way to a spine-crawling crunch.
The bone fractures above his ankle, and Vio hadn't quite realized it until he managed to rip the limb free from his opponent in an attempt to stand. The pain wasn't as bad as it should have been, given the raging adrenaline that coursed about his bloodstream, but there was a definitive inability to weight-bear.
"You broke it," he looked from his left forelimb back to @Antares, sides heaving, jaw ajar. He had literally broken his leg. Well, shit. That wasn't good.
