When the call echoed through the land, she was immediately moving towards it- recognizing the challenger. Violarum. What was he doing?

As she drew to the pit- she noted that a crowd had already gathered, and a battle had begun. She noted the clay brute fighting another, and the smell he carried was of another pride... a scent that Leander had worn the last she had seen him.

What was Violarum doing? Were they going to war? No... Alaric was watching the fight- and as her eyes passed over the pride leader... she lingered on those of the Mire who had also gathered. Myra, Kinki, Brynja, Zelda..

This was a challenge for leadership for the pride... the realization struck her like a swipe to the face. Violarum had mentioned wanting to be a king in one of their conversations, but she hadn't anticipated this. Her fur slowly stood on end, her emotions a war of urging him to victory and wanting him not to go.

He had brought her to the Mire, after all. He was her only established friend.

She moved down into the pit, to join those gathered, and came to stand by @Olive. She spoke, not really greeting the yearling but offering an explanation of what's going on before them- her voice wavering a bit. "That's my friend... Violarum. I think the lion he's fighting is the pride leader of Andal Oasis... It's... Violarum wants his pride- his crown." She explains what she's thinking in soft hushed words, though her eyes never leave her clay colored friend- as she waits on baited breath to see what happens.

Septima had yet to make her presence known to her sisters. For the best, if you asked her. She wasn't interested in engaging with their boorish behavior that was unbecoming for swine, let alone Miroslav offspring. Of course she was startled to hear a call for the Oasis, but Septima had never cared too much for the title of royalty. It had gone to her sister's heads, and she was more than willing to relinquish the name. The yearling spotted Diantha and casually sat away from her, settling into her haunches as though she hadn't a clue the other girl was even around.

Challenges occurred often, though he was unconcerned about the majority of them. Today marked potential change for Andal as a challenge had been made for the throne. When he arrived there were already many gathered. Many faces he didn't know. Glacial eyes took in the scene, miffed by the idea that the quiet lull within Andal might be broken. Paws carried him to join @Diantha in the risers, though her siblings had yet to arrive he wished to accompany the silver girl, as he always did. Don't worry. Deeper tones would rumble as his neutral face remained unchanged. Of course he doubted that his niece had any worry, for she always seemed to put such faith into the men of her life. A thought that always made him feel disappointed in himself for having lost to Amara all those months ago. Haunches had settled against the rock, his eyes on Seneca and the younger opponent. It would be quite interesting to see the outcome of the match, for the challenger wasn't someone he knew and there could be a huge shift for the pride should the stranger win.

Lovers they may be but she had yet to have the opportunity to acquire a crown herself. Lips turned down at the racket of a familiar voice's call. @Violarum was up to something and she hadn't been made privy to know what it was. Dark peach body would creep about the rocks, choosing a perch far higher than those gathered to watch the show below. She had kept her body low, shuffling about to remain hidden from the crowd. Careful measures were taken to obscure her scent using a ratty deer hide she'd found and smothered with herbs, rubbing them into the hide to create a pungent and confusing scent. This she wore draped across her shoulders, used to the odorous cloud that followed her. Where she crept was higher than others but close enough to pick out conversations and hear what everyone spoke about, as well as offered a view of the fight. She had situated herself behind most of the attendees, curiously listening to what the mire lions had to say. Frown deepened at @Ghylasine's words; Violarum was her friend was he? Not to worry, for she was better than that girl, and she already possessed a part of the young beast that others could not, just as he had part of her that others could not take away from him. Lowered to her stomach she lounged luxuriously among the rocks. Of course she hoped for the best outcome for her lover, but that wouldn't make her any less angry at him not telling her about his desire to challenge for a pride.

She is drawn not by the promise of bloodshed or war -- not this time anyhow. This time, Fallon is drawn to the challenge thanks to the voice of the challenger, a voice she knew. Truthfully, she did not know him all that well but he was exciting and charismatic in a way that she could not properly put into words. This challenge simply added to the intrigue. She had not known him to be an ambitious character but here he was, battling the incumbent High Sovereign for the Andal Oasis crown.

Though she had spectated the previous challenge on her lonesome, hidden from view, this time, Fallon feels it important to make herself known. There are a throng of faces -- some that she recognises from the previous pride challenge, noting the few individuals who had appeared to stick close to Violarum's side. Finding a spot of free space, lithe figurine settles herself there, sinking onto well-muscles haunches so that she may spectate in peace. Though not without an encouraging word or two for @Violarum: "Give him hell!" she yells out, a devilish grin on her lips as she watches the two males engaged in battle.

This was a call that Leander had not been expecting.

His brother's reign over Andal Oasis had seemed.. secure though the patched male had known about the pre-existing tensions with the Bluffs. With brows furrowed and his expression stony, the Miroslav male lumbers towards The Pit, eager to find out who the challenger may be. Though when he does arrive, it would appear that the challenger is a complete stranger -- smelling just like @Ghyslaine did. The Mire.

Mismatched gaze spots a fair few in the crowd that look similar to he and Leander can only assume that they are Seneca's spawn, here to spectate by the masses. He purposefully makes his way down towards @Antares, who appeared to have other things on his mind, engaged with a lioness that did not appear to be from the Oasis. With so much at stake, the Miroslav shoots his younger brother an unimpressed deadpan look before he seats himself, watching @Seneca who would no doubt surface as victor.

It was a below average start to a fight of such magnitude; though the world does not rest on Violarum's shoulders, he is perhaps realistic enough to know this would be far from his last pride challenge. Seneca is a stepping stone, and though he is aware his opponent holds the upper hand, he does not waste any time pondering it.

Instinct is in full force here, driving the youngster onwards into the delightful agony of injury and bloodied lips. They tango, for two large male's there is perhaps no elegance here, Seneca attempting to prevent Vio's change in angle, but the clay beast is persistent. With one last rightward step Violarum manages to move just enough to save his achilles - his opponents talons raking painfully down the outside of his left hind, parting skin.

Adrenaline numbs the burn, but Violarum knows his rival has worsened the damage upon his left side - the warmth that gathers there suggesting the monochrome male's teeth have skimmed across his ribs and torn open flesh, skin ragged like a damaged flag.

Impulse influences the Mire Noble, the golden-toed man attempting to jut his left shoulder and seek to pummel it against Seneca's chest with an endeavored thrust of weight; hoping the momentum might force his opponent away from his ribs, stagger his tripod weight, and/or cause Vio's hold upon dark shoulder to tear away with maximized damage.

His teeth skate down @Violarum's side in a satisfying manner, dampening the disappointment that his claws do not quite do the damage he'd been hoping for. His adversary is persistent in twisting towards him, and Seneca cannot so easily follow it with one leg still in the process of returning to the ground. So the younger male's shoulder meets its mark, prompting a low grunt and a backwards step onto his right fore, catching himself with only a minor stagger. Violarum's teeth rip through the thin hold on his shoulder, splitting open a few jagged slashes in his skin. the kingdom of god is within you the call intrigues her. she emerges from the rainforest a shadow, albeit with a skip in her step. humming a soft song to herself under her breath, talitha only quiets as she descends the steps to the pit itself. here, there is a fight already ensuing — she knows neither man, but knows one of them is her dear friend’s king. she cannot tell which ( unfortunately, neither man wears a sign! ) but she worries, soft and tender. what would happen to her sister if the reigning king were to fall? where would eve go? well, talitha might have an answer for that. as if spurned on by her own thoughts, immediately her gaze twists around, looking for @Eve. as if the woman would emerge from the pit itself, summoned only by her thoughts. unfortunately it does not seem as though the gold-cloaked woman has arrived yet and so talitha simply seats herself, interest piqued. it is strange to watch a fight after having experienced one so recently herself, and if the little lamb seeks to watch their motions carefully ( as if trying to commit them to memory ), then it is her business and her business alone...

Success, yet it does not reap the reward that Violarum needs to turn this battle into his favor. Seneca staggers vaguely, and it is within that fleeting moment Vio tries to slash right foreclaws speedily at his opponents left front ankle, seeking the tender ligaments that ran behind the limb. He had to do something, anything, in this moment to weaken the older male.

With any bridges gapped by a return to contact, Seneca again manages to assault muscle - a growl of pain resonating Violarum's jaws as the Sovereign succeeded to find his bulls-eye, blood welling beneath his fangs. The clay behemoth continues his endeavor to target a single limb, folding his chin towards his own breast in an attempt to bite the monochrome leader's left elbow; seeking to crunch against bone in a desperate effort to even the playing field.
