She listens carefully to the ghost's explanation of her family and she frowns. She hasn't heard that name. "I haven't heard that Surname." She admits.

"Alaric Starke rules the Mire. I came with Violarum, I don't know if you've heard of any of them- or if you ever met them." She frowns. So this is going to be harder than she thought originally. "If I can't find a Hodari... is there anyone else who you knew when you were alive that may be able to lead me to them?" She asks seriously, and carefully- considering.

She would wait to see what Kito said, and then try to think of what to do with whatever information that Kito gave her.

Hm, this task might be harder than @Ghyslaine anticipated if she was not familiar with the Hodari name. Kito doubted that she knew anyone else of much prominence within these lands since she had never lived here before. The silver woman would listen intently, hoping to find any recognition within the names the tribal woman offered in return, but just as Ghyslaine did not recognize Kito's family, nor did the spectre recognize anything the stranger spoke. "I'm afraid not," the maned woman shook her head lightly with disappointment. It would have just been so much easier if they shared any tiny connection between their social circles.

So long as the young woman was up to the task, though, Kito was willing and ready to rack her brain for any other names that might possibly aid in leading Ghyslaine towards her Hodari family. "Hm... Like I said, I've never lived in Amaryllis, so I don't know how many of the families I one knew might be here," the silver spectre started off as she mulled over her thoughts. "Perhaps the Darksidy or Satoshi.... Viserions? Maybe even Dantanian?" Kito seemed to just be rattling off surnames of friends she once had who might know where to find more Hodaris, but she had yet to hear any such names spoken to her since appearing in Amaryllis. The ghostly woman had her doubts if any of it should be useful.

It occurred to her then, that maybe she should focus on those she had met thus far in Amaryllis, and then it became quite clear to her what might help. "Zero!" The name came rising from her throat. "The Zero were once a strong family ally long ago, and I've met two Zeros since appearing in Amaryllis. One was a young boy named Deimos being taken care of by my son and daughter-in-law, and the other was a young girl named Asteria. I don't know if she knows my family, but it might be worth a shot." It felt like a stretch to put the link to her family on the shoulders of such young children, or at least they were young when she first met them. Kito wasn't certain how much time had passed since she first appeared, and thus didn't know that it had already been over a year. Little did she know that the mentioned girl was living within her family's pride at this very moment! But would any of those names help Ghyslaine find the Hodari?

Ghyslaine

So many names. So many unfamiliar names!

She frowns as the specter lists the names and shakes her head hopelessly. She doesn’t know any of these families. Doesn’t know the last two lions that she mentions either.

“I will look for this Asteria and this Deimos. If they’re still around perhaps they can get me pointed in the right direction of the Hodari family.” She suggests slowly. If nothing else, just asking random strangers if they’ve heard of the family could also become fruitful. Or in her mind, it could.

Surely there weren’t that many lions in Amaryllis

“Anyone else you can think of? Any names I should ask about?” She questions gently. Even if this was appearing to be rather difficult, she didn’t mind trying to help the ghostly lioness.

Kito knew that all of this was probably a long-shot. She'd been away from her homelands for so long, and it had been another eight years since she died. What were the odds that any of these family names might pop up in Amaryllis? She was grateful, however, that @Ghyslaine was willing to give it a try to find the Hodari. Even if it was just one, the silver woman just wanted them to know where she was now, that she hadn't just disappeared on them without a trace. If anyone would have come looking for her, she thought maybe Hanneth would have by now, knowing that the bronze woman had had a connection with the spirits before. Surely she would know where this land hid the dead.

"Thank you, Ghyslaine. I know it's not much to go on, but I appreciate any effort to find the Hodari for me." The spirit's words were genuine in their tone. Kito knew she was at the mercy of the mortal. Seeming to want to cover her bases, though, the tribal woman double checked for anything else that might help which sent the silver woman to rack her brain once more. Perhaps she had found something while she was in Ecrosia that might be more current and thus more helpful to go on. Inky lips would purse in thought while her focus seemed to go elsewhere. The Hodari replayed the moments she spent haunting the Mire until something finally popped up in her memories. Blue gaze shot back to Ghyslaine with alertness. "Yes, Valour! Do you know any Valour lions? They are.... were allies to my grandson's pride when he ruled Ecrosia. I met a woman named Talisa while I was in the Mire. She might know where the Hodari have gone, or maybe someone in her pride knows." This new thread of memory brought a renewed hope to the silver spirit. Something more current and concrete, though she lacked the knowledge of the Valour pride's name. Kito wasn't even completely hopeful that the Valour still lived in the same pride if Ecrosia had already changed hands a couple times since her family lost it, but it was still probably a stronger lead than finding the young Zero lions.

Ghyslaine

Ghyslaine knows that she owes this specter nothing, but perhaps it is that knowledge that makes her promise to help that much sweeter. She cannot help but to feel immense pity for the lioness. Stuck here, alone without visitors, it must be horrible.

Finally, a name that Ghyslaine recognized!

“I know a Talisa! A Vermeda Brook lioness. I met her in the pit!” Excited words leave her in a rush. “I can start there. I’ll go to the Brook and call for her and see if she remembers you and if she can point me in the direction of your family.”

Like it would be that simple.

Finally, some recognition maked its way into the conversation. Not only did @Ghyslaine know of Talisa, but she knew of her pride as well. Even better, she seemed to know where to find the Brook, too. Even if Kito could leave this grotto, it wasn't as if she was familiar with Amaryllis, and thus might have spent a good portion of her freedom just trying to wander in the right direction. This knowledge of where Vermeda lived brought a renewed hope to the silver woman's heart. "That is fantastic!" The Hodari could hardly withhold her excitement at the prospect of finding her family. "Yes! Yes, please. Go to her and see if she knows where my family might be." It was the best lead they had, after all.

"If there is..." The maned woman stopped short while rethinking her wording. "Well, frankly, I don't know what I can actually do like this, but if there is anything I can ever help you with, Ghyslaine, please feel free to call upon me here in the grotto." How much assistance could a spectre be to the living? She didn't know, but she could always pass along whatever life lessons the Hodari had gained over the years. "Even if you are unsuccessful, I appreciate your willingness to try." It was with genuine gratitude that the silver woman spoke, allowing herself to be hopeful that this stranger's kindness would be fruitful.

OOC: Wrapping this up, and if you're cool with it- I'll start a new one, where Ghys comes to tell her she has succeeded!

When the Mire lioness had set off this morning, she had not thought that she would end up meeting a spirit, let alone end up with a quest from one. She listens to @Kito very carefully and nods seriously. "I will do my very best." She swears, and she means that- swearing on her very honor. She will do everything she can to find this lioness's family and spread the word that she had asked her to spread.

Ghyslaine smiles at her, and steps back. "I should get going. I need to get started. I hope to see you soon, Kito?" She would ask of the spectre- knowing that she cannot assume to run into her here again, but she would definitely come back to interact with her if she was able. Perhaps Kito would have some wisdom to share when Ghyslaine needed it one day.
