He had barely known the girl a few days, but she had wriggled her innocent little way under his skin. She was fiercely playful, perhaps a little odd looking, but mostly she was fun. She was not needy or demanding, though perhaps she might have been if she could talk. His mind wandered briefly to their meeting and the way she had been wailing about in the wilderness, as if begging for something to eat her.

He had a plan, to help @Basura become a more respectable member of society - not that he much cared for respectable - but, at least hoping she could learn to talk and pretend to be more normal than she looked.

He tried to urge the yearling onwards with the odd playful swat and cheerful growl, wandering around the area he knew @Ghyslaine to frequent.

She'd left her favorite toy, her rock, behind when Violarum had come for her today, so there was nothing to stop her happy chirrups as she padded along with him. She giggled whenever he swatted at her, dodging this way and that, occasionally bopping his shoulder with a paw in retaliation or offering a far more pitiful growl in comparison. She did wonder where they were going, but she had no way to ask. Well, they'd get there when they got there then! For now she was just having fun with the walk. Ooh, maybe they were going to have another snack, like they had when he'd first brought her back here! That would be nice.

Ghyslaine

Ghyslaine hadn't been super busy, thus far today. She'd been rather happily working on her den for most of the morning again. At some point in all of this, she'd realized that her original size plans may not be large enough- and so she'd started digging more, trying to make it more spacious. What if she had cubs to cubsit and they needed to rest? It needed to be more of a home.

She'd left that, and walked down and around, until she found some water to wash her paws of the mud- and with that, she was off to wander around and see what she could get into for the day.

What she didn't expect was to scent @Violarum so quickly into her day- or the other scent that seemed to linger with his. So, she moved through the brush and bog, until the scents grew stronger, and once she emerged from the wood, she stops.

"You've got a shadow, Violarum." She said, giving a warm smile to the youngster (@Basura)- before bringing back a quizzical look to the large lion. Was he claiming youngsters now?

No matter the length of their walk, it felt swift enough; Violarum entirely preoccupied with the playful @Basura. Her shoulder swats were met with lazy growls and the odd bounce, flinging paws and mud at the teenager, or nipping playfully at her scruffy bits.

They eventually find @Ghyslaine, and Violarum seeks to lumber right up to his friend, trying to thump his forehead against her own, or wherever she might let him. She was a like a soft bed of moss, and though she batted at him from time to time, her gentleness was a subconscious invitation for Vio's rough-housing. Until there were consequences, he would assume she liked it.

The clay male seeks to circle her casually, his chest vibrating with a friendly rumble. "Basura," he pointed a single paw clumsily in the direction of the Lykoi girl, then at Ghys, "Ghyslaine." He knew things needed to be simple for the russet yearling. Then, attention falls more wholly to the adult lioness, his tail swatting idly.

"She looks a bit weird, but Basura is good," he really didn't know why she was missing fur, but she didn't seem unwell, he payed little mind to it. "She has nobody to teach her things, she can't talk much," and then, given their last conversation, Vio almost expects Ghys to offer, looking at the woman expectantly with a raised brow.

She roamed with him until the woman stepped out of the foliage to speak to them, and Violarum moved forward to greet her. Basura too came forward and would attempt to bonk her head against the woman's shoulder since that was what Vio had done. Only then did she plop her butt on the ground and watch as the two blathered at each other in words she didn't understand. Her name was mentioned and she nodded eagerly when she was pointed to, but when Vio said the other woman's name her brow furrowed in deep concentration as she tried to wrap her tongue around the unfamiliar syllables. "Ghys," she said finally, which was probably the best they were going to get from her for the time being. She smiled broadly, proud of herself, and tried to ignore the fact that Vio's tail swishing around made it look like a really fun toy.

Ghyslaine

She should be used to @Violarum's rougher nature, as he moves forward to thump his head against her own. She lazily swats at him as he steps back, her usual response to his odd physical antics. She eyes the youngster as Violarum circles her lazily, and when he speaks- he gives her a name. @Basura.

Basura speaks, shortening Ghyslaine's name down to 'Ghys' and she cannot help the beam that leaves her at that. She'd not been called Ghys since she was a youngster herself.

However, before Ghyslaine can speak to Basura, Violarum speaks again, and she turns her head to listen to the clay colored male- attentively. She looks past her friend back to the odd looking youngster- noting that she did look different, but Ghyslaine wasn't put off by it.

She turns towards the youngster and dips her head to her, and speaks. "Nice to meet you Basura." She offers basic greetings- and as a motion to ascertain exactly what she may be able to understand and say.

To Violarum, she quirks a brow with a wry grin, "Another one of your claimed?" She wants to poke fun at him. Could Basura even understand that she was claimed if that was what she was? Ghyslaine wasn't sure what exactly Violarum was hinting at- but she was definitely curious about the younger lioness.

"Are you implying that you want me to teach her these things?" Ghyslaine asks, her attention back on Violarum. She can't imagine that this will be much of a joint effort. Not that she's opposed to helping Basura- not at all- it's what she's meant for. Ghyslaine just needed some clarity- because why else would Violarum bring Basura to her.

She was a good kid, and she needed somebody to tell her that. She was fun, and not annoying - the best kind of youngster. He eyed her delightedly as she copied his affectionate gesture, feeling like big daddy in a wholly satisfying kind of way. Maybe after @Basura could talk, he could teach her to fight?

His skull shook half-heartedly at Ghyslaine's question, taking it entirely at face value, "No, she was just... already here." Kind of a straggler or something, "I think she was left behind," an insensitive shrug. Whoever lived here before obviously didn't miss her.

"Yes," and that's all he will say to @Ghyslaine at that point, looking entirely pleased with himself as if he deserved a medal for being so thoughtful and clever.

She sat back, grinning briefly when the woman spoke to her, but otherwise just looking back and forth between them as they spoke to each other. She didn't know what they said, but she still watched as they spoke as though she did and was actually following the trail of conversation.

Now she wished she'd brought her rock, because this was kind of boring. And then, even better, she saw a STICK! Immediately she pounced on it, picking it up in her jaws and swinging her head around, enjoying the sound the stick made as it whipped through the air. She tossed it a few feet away from herself and bounded after it. Let the grown ups talk, she'd have her fun.

She had been left?

Ghyslaine's already softened expression before the youngster, softened further. No one should be left behind, let alone a youngster such as @Basura. She appeared about yearling size- possibly yearling age, but Ghyslaine couldn't really ask her to find that out. However- she was still a child.

Ghyslaine watches as Basura leaps on a stick, and then turns to attempt @Violarum's gaze. After a second of studying the male, Ghyslaine nods in acceptance of the task. She accepts the gift that Violarum brought her. "I'll do everything I can to get her speaking- and defend her." A solemn promise to Violarum. She couldn't believe she'd been abandoned, and Ghyslaine nearly shook with anger at the thought.

Despite the seriousness of the matter, there is a contagious air to @Basura 's childish play. As he watches her start bouncing around with a stick, his eyes ignite and his tail starts to swat eagerly. There is a blatant effort to remain still, something most might detect within he twitch of enjoyment across his tawny skin.

"Good," he says to @Ghyslaine, finally standing when he can't take the temptation any longer, batting playfully at the yearling in an almost idle manner - his mind obviously somewhat absent, as though it were a childish reflex. "Stay with Ghyslaine," he says, voice slow as if speaking to a newborn cub, and he'd seek to leave eventually - when he could tame that cub-like spirit.
