Fa la la la la, la la la la! It's almost December, and we all know what that means — holiday events, woohoo! This year, we have a variety of things planned, both OOC and IC, so please make sure to read over this thread thoroughly and get involved in anything and everything that interests you!
Unless otherwise noted, the start/end is 12:00am est for everything mentioned.
Site-Wide Holiday Break
We are once again implementing a site-wide holiday/downtime period.
Our break period will run from December 20th to January 6th .
During this time, a few things will happen:
- All leadership requirements will be paused.
- Prior to December 20th, all pride leaders will need to have their required post counts completed and will need to have their pride histories/pages/news up-to-date as well.
- All leaders will have until the end of dayJanuary 9th to get their leadership requirements back up to speed. The rollover on the 10th will happen as normal.
- Any ongoing pride cooldowns will be paused during the break and the dates for them will be adjusted based on the cooldown starting back up on January 6th.
- Pride challenges and the creation of outlaw bands will not be permitted from the start of the event, until January 10th. This gives everyone time to catch up and settle.
- The majority of the maintenance work will be voluntary for Staff members.
- Auditions and pride updates will be prioritized to keep things flowing and to prevent limbo; other maintenance items can be done by Staff if they choose, but they will also be on break.
- This means that there is a chance that petals, trade exp, and other requests might sit for a little longer than you’re used to — please do not poke Staff about these items between December 20th and January 6th. They will be completed either when a Staff member is free and able, or after the break.
- Ongoing fight timers will be paused. Members can choose to continue their fights during the break or pick them back up on January 6th.
- The activity bot will be paused during this time and will be turned back on on January 9th. All characters who go inactive on the 9th will have until the 13th to request being reactivated.
- Do not poke other members for replies, posts, etc. This takes away from the break!

During this break, we will have a timeframe when the site is shut down fully for some updates. We will let you know what those dates are soon.
We hope that this allows the member base to enjoy the holiday season and unplug for a little while, if needed. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to an Admin.
Advent Calendar
Of course, as always, we will be doing a 12 days of Christmas Advent Calendar, which will be starting on December 13th.
It will work the same as it has in the past:
- Gifts will be announced once a day for 12 days in a row, both in Discord and in a separate Advent Calendar thread.
- You must sign-up to receive any gifts. Sign-ups will open on December 10th, and you’ll be able to sign up in Discord or on-site (no need to sign up in both places). We will let everyone know when sign-ups are open!
- To sign-up, you must have at least one active character on-site (so make sure to audition a character now, if you haven’t already)
- Sign-ups will work as a one-time entry, where you sign-up once and are good to go for the remaining days. If you sign up on Day 1, you get prizes from Day 1-12. If you sign up on Day 5, you get prizes from Day 5-12.
A separate thread will be made to track sign-ups and prize announcements — this will go live on December 9th, so we’ll see you then!
Discord Posting
We once again have started up the money bot on discord to let you earn some petals while talking with other members! See the discord announcement for more information!
IC Events
We’re scaling back quite a bit this year with our IC events! We want everyone to enjoy the holidays and not feel overwhelmed with all that’s going on, so there will be just a few options for your characters to participate in. These events will span Dec and Jan. Please take the time to read the rules, found below, and understand what the different events are. If you have any questions, please reach out to an Admin!
- Return of the Mammoth
- This event will feature a fan-favorite, extremely difficult prey animal — mammoths! And it’s your job to try and take them down!
- 2 separate threads, to be posted throughout the day on December 1st.
- Members can enter ONE character into each thread.
- This means that you can have a maximum of 2 characters participate if you enter one in both threads. This is to ensure that everyone can participate.
- The hunt will follow our normal neutral hunt rules! Each post will need to include your character's hit and luck dice as found on the Hunt System page.
- The mammoth must be taken down (more hits than dodges) by December 25th to be considered successful.
- A successful hunt of this caliber will award 20 bonus exp to ANY trade. This is in addition to any other trade exp that is earned during the thread. The exp is for the character taking part in the hunt.
- You will need to exit the thread before claiming your bonus exp.
- You can post as many characters as you want to this thread.
- This does not count as a dice-rolled hunt. All characters (even cubs) can participate.
- Stu has 250 health.
- To participate, all you need to do is post to the thread and insert the following code into the bottom of your post:
- Rolling a 1 counts as a hit, and rolling a 2 counts as a failure.
- NEW!! Master and Sub-Master Rangers are able to add a second roll to their posts!
- You can post multiple times with the same character, but you need to wait at least 2 days between each post and roll. This is to prevent spamming - you need to work together as a team!
- This event will feature an IC scavenger hunt, where characters need to track down the yule logs and find out whether or not they contain any gifts!
- 3 separate threads, to be posted throughout the day on January 3.
- Members can enter ONE character into each thread.
- This means that you can have a maximum of 3 characters participate if you enter one in every thread). This is to ensure that everyone can participate and to avoid the farming of any trade experience.
- All you need to do is post your character to the thread responding to the prompt, and insert the following code into the bottom of your post:
- That is your roll used to determine whether your character has found a prize or not.
- Rolling a 1 = 10 exp
- Rolling a 2 = 25 petals (to that IC account)
- Rolling a 3 = Try again
- You can keep posting and rolling until you have received the maximum of 5 presents per thread. (i.e. 50 exp, 125 petals, or any combination thereof).
- These threads will be closed for rolling as of January 24th (11:59 pm) - but you can post again to exit at any time.
- Exits are NOT required to claim your scavenger hunt gifts. You will need an exit, however, in order to claim any regular exp or petals.
"Catch the Christmas Mule" will be a community-wide IC event where your collective goal is to take down a very fast (and very annoying) mule by the name of Stu who is looking for a cousin named Lou that came this way last year shh don't tell Stu what happened to Lou! Stu is bigger than Lou and focused on finding his cousin — so you must focus on getting your paws on him.
This will all occur in 1 single thread, active from December 1st to December 25th (11:59 pm), and will follow these guidelines:

If you all succeed in getting Stu's health to 0, all participants can claim +125 exp (to be used on a character of your choice, can be split but must all be requested in one request). If you all fail, worry not, Stu will find it all funny and gift out +25 exp. Just don't tell him what happened to LOU!
