The pale colored lion had gotten separated from the masses that had come before him. He wasn't upset over it though. He was used to long and solitary travel. Nomadic lifestyles were something that was common to him. So the migration didn't feel that awkward to him. No one really knew where they were going but that was okay too. The unknown wasn't always a bad thing.

The large group had traveled on without him and he didn't imagine himself missed among the Ridge members that he had began the journey with. Even within the pride he had mostly kept to himself. He helped out where needed but he hadn't made socializing a priority. No, his priority had been his plants. That was what he missed. His garden was gone and there was no carrying it with him.

He had made not of things along the way though. He figure he could always back track and gather them should a nearby place be found. But on and on they traveled and further and further back Iofiel had been left.

Eventually a place of crossing had been found. It wasn't the sand bridge that interested him by the piece of sea weed that had washed up onto the sand. The healer moved over to the sun dried piece of vegetation in order to sniff at it. He didn't have any speculations as to what it might be as he had never come across something such as that before. Iofiel had never been near the coast before.

She meandered once more into the claiming sands, hoping to find more members not just for herself, but for the other prides. Jewel didn't want anyone staying alone out here - so she was trying to do her best to keep them finding homes if she could. Spotting the pale lion up ahead, the ebony female made her way towards him, a smile on her lips and a dip of her head in both greeting and a symbol of non-aggression. "Passing through, or are you searching for something, friend?" Jewel's tone was kind, gentle as it often was, cerulean optics passing over his form to see how he faired physically - if he was in need of food or shelter immediately. "I'm Jewel - Sovereign to a pride to the northeast.. I can help you find food or shelter... perhaps missing family members if that is your desire?" @Iofiel""

"Mayhaps a bit of both." The question was answered in a speculative manner. The pale lion lifted his head from his inspection of the dried out plant to look towards the lioness. "I am uncertain on the friend part. Have we met previously?" Or perhaps he just reminder her of someone else. Was he one of those ones whom just had a familiar look about him?

The name that she gave him didn't spawn any sort of recognition in him. He wasn't certain if he was meant to recognize the name or not. Either way he still gave his own in return. "I am known as Iofiel Nimri." It was the polite thing to do after all, to give one's name in exchange for another.

"I've no family though I had been traveling with Ambrosine and Manes. We were separated during the long travel." And he couldn't say that they had missed him. He had doubts that they had even noticed that he had gone missing. Iofiel had always been the sort to fade into the background. "The only thing I am missing at the moment is a garden." All of that hard work gone.

"Make that two things, for I know not what this is." A tilt of his head to indicate the plant that he had been studying. Iofiel had never seen the ocean before this time. Unending water had seemed impossible to him until he had laid eyes upon it. Now, sand as far as the eye could see was something he was entirely used to.

The lion spoke of coming from other lands and mentioned a name that Jewel was familiar with - though she was unfamiliar with the other. The ebony female hummed as she felt her tails flickering near her haunches. "We have not - but I mean you no harm, so long as you mean me no immediate harm, then we can be friends for the moment, can we not?" Perhaps her logic was flawed, but the female wanted to make sure that she didn't step on toes with as new as everything was. He spoke of a plant and she frowned, glancing down to the flora at his feet. "I'm afraid I can be of little help there, Sir Iofiel. I am not the best when it comes to plants.." Or the usage of said plants - her familiarity came when they were usually slathered across her hide after a battle of some sort. "Ambrosine - she travels with a sibling and entourage does she not? She speaks with a accent?" Jewel was unfamiliar with that accent, but she knew that the words spoken were not common - and Jewel assumed that they would likely be considered a different language entirely. She had seen her at the challenge for Scilla Lagoon - but where she went after that was unknown. Perhaps this male would like to travel there and see if Durius had known where they had gone to. @Iofiel""

"Are friends not ones whom know each other? I know nothing about you other than a name." The words were stated in a matter of fact manner. He wasn't upset over the assumption but merely curious as to why she would name a complete stranger a friend so easily. He didn't know of any that shared those sorts of thoughts. He didn't know of any whom saw friends wherever they looked.

"I mean no harm to anyone. I am a healer, not a fighter." He saw no reason to cause undue harm to anyone. Perhaps not even due harm either. He had never found any joy in the matter when he had been forced to fight. No, he much preferred to tend to any resulting injuries instead. He would rather save a life rather than take one.

Sadly the female didn't have an answer as to what the plant was either. He would just have to gather it up and test it out. A name wasn't always needed to be able to use a plant. He needed only the product itself.

"There is no Sir. It is just Iofiel. I am a no one from nowhere." And he didn't feel right being given an undue title. He had earned absolutely nothing. "Yes, that would be Ambrosine." And could possibly be a few others as well. "She has cubs as well." This he knew since he had seen to her after the birth. "You have seen her then?"

[OOC: Time...warpy..things.. cause I don't know what she knew at this time because I've flat forgotten.] She would listen to him and found herself agreeing with what he had to say, though it was simply a case of how she usually spoke to others. "My apologies.. It's a habit that I've carried most of my life." Jewel shifted her footing, watching his facial expressions as he spoke, telling her that he was a healer and not a fighter. It wasn't something she, herself, would understand as Jewel was more inclined in the art of battle rather than patching up the wounds incurred. "I seem to be apologizing a lot to you, @Iofiel.. I hadn't intended to cause you discomfort.. it is simply a way of speaking that I've used.. I will do my best to be less formal." Her tone was kind, with an edge of embarrassment - as she had never made someone uncomfortable with her vernacular before. "I have seen her - I know that they live in a pride called Scilla Lagoon for the time being.. If you would like me to take you to the borders?" Jewel was out here to find members for the Cove, but she also knew that she was liable to find those that would want to find friends and family that had scattered to the four winds.. And she would do her best to make sure that they got where it was they truly needed to go.""

Iofiel shook his head as the female continued to apologize to him time and again. "You have no need to apologize to me. It is not discomfort per say, just I simply haven't earned either title. I am not the sort to take undue rights. Where I came from everyone knew their place and they stuck to it." Not that he was trying to tell her that she was wrong. Instead he was trying to explain his own view and why he couldn't accept her accreditation.

"There is no need for you to go out of your way for me. I am certain you must have better uses for your time." After a pause which allowed the pale male to further gather his thoughts did he bother to speak again. "I am uncertain if she would have been looking for me. We merely shared a pride together. It is best not to bother her."

She would give @Iofel a smile, musing over his words before the ebony queen would hum thoughtfully. Tails twitching near her haunches. "The lagoon is not far if you intend to take a trip to see her. After all, if you shared a pride at one point, perhaps she would like to see you again? I know that there are many here that have been looking for old friends. If she asks me about you, would you like me to tell her that I've seen you?" Tones were curious, Jewel waiting for the lions answer to her question. In her time traveling these claiming sands, the lioness had learned that almost as many as were out here hunting for a home; were looking for old pride mates and information. It might appear that this beast was of the second.""

Truth was, he had been closer to Manes than to Ambrosine. But then he had patched up Manes's leg and had only been there to attend to Ambrosine after her birth had already happened. It had mostly been giving of advice to Ambrosine whereas he had taken an active role with Manes. Still, both had inherited him as he had already been in the pride when they had taken it over. He simply hadn't left when new rulers came in.

"It is highly improbable that she will ask but I will not forbade you from telling her. She had simply taken over a pride I was already in at the time." He hadn't been scouted and wanted to be a part of the pride by neither Manes nor Ambrosine. He was just one of few that had already been there when the challenge had been lost. "I thank you for the information." Because there was no reason to be impolite when he still hadn't made up his mind whether or not to act upon it.

"If you don't mind me asking, you stated that you are Sovereign to a pride but you never mentioned what pride that might be. Is it this Lagoon that is yours?"

He would question if the Lagoon was hers, and Jewel shook her head. "I rule a land known as Caladan Cove. It's just beyond the pass in the mountains to the east. Further east of that is the Lagoon. We tend to be close friends as the Cove acts as a sort of... 'vanguard' to those of the Lagoon. We defend the only access to the pride." Well - sort of. She supposed there was still plenty of space for lions to sneak by, but the Cove would know of any large groups approaching the lagoon before the lagoon would be aware of such things. "I will keep that in mind. Sir @Iofiel." Her ears would twitch, listening to things only the ebon woman could hear. "If you wish, I can escort you to their borders? They may have more information of your old pride-mates..Even if they simply were rulers that took over where you lived."""
