This wasn't really his thing, being on the lookout for prey. He was more the sort to come join the hunt after others had located it and lend a paw that way, but Dmitri knew everyone was needed at that moment in the pride's life. So when he came across the scent of prey and hadn't heard anyone else call out, he took it upon himself to do so, loosing that low, mooing call that was so unique to his species. Come one, come all, he had a job for them. He wondered, while he waited, if anyone would actually show. It wasn't like his voice was common ringing through the halls of the pride. He wouldn't blame anyone if they didn't, but it would be far easier to manage this with some help.

Huh, that was a weird sound. Angelo had actually never heard a tiger call out before, so he thought it was some weird kind of prey that had wandered into their territory. Since it could potentially be a threat, he made his way to the source, only to find a familiar orange striped figure waiting to gather a hunting party.

You sound so freaking weird dude, he commented, not unkindly, earning himself the slightest of eye rolls from the tiger. Okay, okay, he could take a hint. Time to focus and make some use of himself. With Alexander out of commission for a little bit he would have to actually step up and be productive in his place, especially as Celestia was busy with the children.

Thella wasn't sure she'd heard his call before as she followed its echoes through the tunnels; it was much deeper than those of any of the other males of the pride. Not surprising considering his size, though. At almost twice her size, @Dmitri towered over her small frame.

She'd seen him around the Hollow, but had never so much as spoken to him; quite unlike her, but he was honestly a bit intimidating. Now is as good a time as any, I guess. It would be at least a few minutes before others began to show to assist in the hunt. She nodded in greeting at @Angelo before looking up into the green eyes of the colossal tiger and offering a wide smile.

"I know we haven't spoken, but I wanted to say hello and officially introduce myself to you. I'm Thella!"

It sounded so strange, so foreign, when the call rang out. But it wasn't unfamiliar. Had she ever actually heard him call out for anything? She couldn't quite recall. Not that it really mattered since he'd done so now. After ensuring that the cubs were tucked away safely, she trotted through the tunnels.

When she arrived, not many had gathered so far, but she didn't mind that. A low rumble greeted @Thella from the shadows before the viper finally emerged. She briefly stopped to greet @Dimitri with a chuff before standing next to @Angelo, offering the male a softly rumbled greeting. "Good to see you," she spoke lowly, pointed ears perking ever so slightly.

In quiet movement did he begin to scratch his claws against the thick of a rock. Letting his claws get sharp and prepared upon its surface in an effort to better help the pride's hunt. Scraping it all the way down before moving to do the same again, over and over until they finally launched. Cosmin moved quickly as he sprang forward and began the chase of the prey, moving with the rest of the lions in succession in the interest of furthering their pride. While a nice nap sounded good, the nap always felt a hundred times better after he had really exerted himself in the efforts of a hunt.

Despite knowing that they had it handled, Juliette did her best to make a show of appearing in social gatherings. For the sheer fact that she had heard @Dmitri himself calling for it was more than enough reason to double her pace. Moving into the gathered lions and running alongside them as though she had been there even before the striped tiger. Allowing her body to keep pace with them and angling her body to further court their target into the waiting mouths of those burlier than she. Aiming to finish the creature to leave the Hollows with a sizable feast for the near future and beyond.

He looked over with interest as another approached to introduce herself. Ah, at least now he knew her name. He pretended not to be offended that she approached Dmitri to introduce herself to him, but realistically she'd probably seen him around more.

Angelo wasn't alone for long at least as @Syanna approached him and he offered her an easy grin. You too, he replied. He'd been hoping she'd stick around, but he suspected it had been a near thing. He'd ask how she was doing, but they were going to be busy with the hunt soon, and besides that Cosmin and Juliette came in, completing their little gathering.

Juliette was able to bring their quarry down, and Angelo figured they could figure out how to get the meal to the cache without him. Dmitri could stick around and help if need be since he was the one who had called for it, right? That was his way of thinking anyway. Besides, he helped to lighten the load by taking a not insignificant chunk for himself, Alexander, and Celestia to eat, if they could keep the little ones off them enough to do so.

It felt weird for him to be calling for the pride, and even weirder for them to respond to his call, but he was pleased that they did. Of course, Angelo came in with a snarky comment that Dmitri rolled his eyes at because he knew the other man was just like that and he wasn't being mean about it. Would he know the others who arrived? Clearly Juliette had been right that he needed to get to know them all more.

Speaking of, @Thella made that easy for him by walking up and introducing herself to him. He offered a slight but still warm smile of greeting, dipping his head to her which really didn't do much considering he was a big boy. Dmitri. It is nice to officially meet you, he said. He would remember her name, he knew that much.

More came to join them, and they had enough that he felt safe beginning the hunt. He did hope that no one would be injured at the very least. Fortunately, he didn't seem to have to worry about that as Juliette succeeded in bringing down their quarry. Thank goodness. This would help keep them all fed for quite a while now. Now he just had to begin the process of dragging it back to the caches, likely in pieces.

Before the hunt began there was a the barest hint of a smile as one of their younger members moved straight to her truest friend and introduced herself, leaving @Dmitri to do the same back to her. With that smile boosting her own joy as she moved with adrenaline for their hunt, they succeeded yet again and left no prey to escape. She allowed everyone to get whatever meal they wished to get out of it before moving in to take her share. All before beginning to move their spoils towards the caches that were hardly ever on the cusp of low. exit juliette
