OOC : Pride hunt

He had called forth a small hunt, it was time to bring in more meals as the pride was growing with members and guests alike. Vasilis would call out to anyone belonging to the Lagoon and those who he let stay as a temporary fit. Shifting through the deep grove before coming to the outskirts of the mass thicket, Vasilis's eyes trained on what was ahead of him. Lumps of mossy stones, overgrown trees. It would be a hard place to hurt but an easy place to take down prey as they could not escape so easily as they could at the watering hole.

Iofiel might not be an official member of the pride but he had been welcomed as a guest and so he would do his part. He would help replenish the stores as a repayment for being a leech on their land. An indefinite leech at that. There was some interesting plant life there that he hadn't come across before and he was curious about it.

So since he had intentions on taking from the flora he would give back in fauna. The pale male had no intention of taking an portion from whatever they caught but would just be another body to add to the hunt for an added attempt at success.

the cherub comes forward dutifully, happy to to lend a helping paw. hunting was never quite his shining skill (he was better with fishing, to be honest) but he disliked the idea of shirking any imagined responsibilities. dirius calls them to the thicket and elijah arrives shortly after, admiring the scenery for a few long moments before settling into business. he keeps himself low to the ground, sticking to the shadows when he can. as quietly as he can imagine, he pulls along his sovereign, but his gaze was forward - sweeping across the underbrush for anything tasty.

He’d been out gathering herbs around the Lagoon, and so was in range to swiftly answer the call from his new king. Or “high sovereign,” whatever. Amant found that title rather... pretentious, yes, that was the word, and heaven help whoever tried to make him actually use it. Tucking his herbs away in the den he’d chosen for now, the mocha lion came prancing towards the call. Vibrant green eyes scanned the small crowd, stopping abruptly on a white and silver stranger.

His jaw dropped, eyebrows arching as he blinked rapidly, as if he had to check what was before his eyes was an actual lion and not a vision. Nope, he was still there. So, he was real. Okay, be cool, be cool, and don’t screw this up. Amant swallowed and managed a small smile, slowly approaching the other. “Hello,” he said softly, not wanting to ruin their stealth, “what ees your name? I’m Amant, I’m new around ‘ere.” Relax. You’ve done this a million times before. Okay, then why was this time so hard already?!

He’d heard the call, and though it took him a while to get off his lazy ass, he did. It was his second trade, after all, may as well be of use. So he followed from where the call had echoed. Cracking his neck and rolling his shoulders on the way. It had been a while since he’d hunted in a group. It would be nice. Then, when he reached the area, he noticed it was all men so far. Interesting. They were all handsome, too (yes he includes himself in that.) He glanced at @Amant. He was nice looking, but was already going after @Elijah. A quiet chuckle came from him. Funny, he was quite obvious with his objective, yes?

Haniel made it to the side of @Iofiel, offering him a lazy grin. He’d had no doubt he’d come to try and contribute. Such was his nature. The small, peachy male looked up at his dark face and red eyes. Knowing he probably wouldn’t return his gaze. But hey, he would like the surprise. He then looked to @Vasilis, offering him a nod of greeting. So he’d thrown the whole thing together. Made sense. But when would they start hunting? Right now it was social hour and a lot of standing around.

She waffled on attending- staying around Pistis's company sounded just as appealing. There was a pointed lack of anyone else in the Lagoon she was interested in getting to know after all. But Siofra knew the expectations of her- pull your weight. At least amongst all of the King's talking she had listened to that and heard it. Her siblings would need strength, thus Pistis would. Food was important. Eventually the logic worked around that it was better to suck it up and go. She didn't need to use this as a chance to meet anyone, to be friendly even. The young clay woman arrived with a shield around herself, a face telling nothing and peach eyes muted. They fell loosely on @Vasilis while waiting for further instruction or indication of the plan. It was his pride, his show.

Vasilis watched as they floated in like birds in the morning sun to collect worms from the cool earthy surface. He shifted his body to look over at the first who carried themselves nearby where he was watching. His voice but a whisper "Welcome Iofiel, " he stated with a warm expression. Then came @Elijah "Hello - You are welcome to join us today or be waiting in case of an injury from this......odd location..I'd imagine someone if not wise on their footing might slip." he frowned.

@Amant appeared and he grinned at his expressions. "Welcome sir, We are going to hunt something moderately sized for us and the guests we have staying with us. If anyone else shows up - I plan to have two teams take down what they can." his voice was still silent as he didn't want to spook those creatures that might be wandering. @Haniel then showed with Siofra not far behind. "There is a small group of Rock hyrax that got astray up ahead, but they are on a slope of mossy rocks that could lead to being dangerous." he tells them all. His eyes look forward again as he thinks

"There is also one or two Caracal's watching that same group of Hyrax. Siofra and Amant will take the Caracal, Haniel, and Iofiel you both will drive the Hyrax this way to me and Elijah. That is IF Elijah wants to stay back to help with injuries." he stated softly looking around. He would wait for a few more stragglers - only for a few more minutes though before deciding to go forward.

I will take my mother her share. Siofra stated with a down turned skull and jaws already gaping to grab at a chunk of the bloodied warm meat. Her cheeks glistened with streak of the hunt, her chest heaved in and out with deep breaths. She did not feel hunger pains, and she certainly felt no need to stay and mingle with the strangers of the Lagoon. She would get Pistis fed and simultaneously get herself out and away from the situation.

Iofiel gave a silent dip of his head in greeting when he was spoken to. He had nothing against the other but it was simply how he was. The large male had always chosen silence when he could get away with it. And there really wasn't much to say upon this occasion. They knew what they had come to do. Others came after and soon the hunt was on.

Success in hunting was something that the pale lion had gotten used to and such was what happened. A silent prayer was said for the animals as the rest of the group took them down after he had driven them towards the waiting jaws.

As he had promised Vasilis he took none of the kill himself. He wasn't part of this pride so it wasn't right that he should take their food. But as he was being allowed to stay as a guest then he had to help out.

There was already someone for the healer role and so he was no longer needed with the prey dead. He said not a word to anyone as he slipped away.
