A heavy autumn downpour had rolled through during the evening, drenching everyone and everything in its way. Fortunately, Hiccup had been home, tucked away in his cozy, comfortable den. He stirred early that morning, when the breeze was chilly and humid from the passing shower. By the afternoon though, the sun had come out and warmed the air. Hiccup, energized by the sunshine, had gone out and found tracks in the fresh mud. The season was beginning to turn, and the young male knew that the cold was likely to chase away the prey. He rarely passed on the chance to bring home food, but it was now especially important to take those opportunities. It would only be a matter of time before they became scarce.

With that thought in mind, the young male lifted his head up high and called out into the grove, inviting any who would wish to join him in his search for food.

Droplets flew off the pale woman's coat as she attempted to shake herself dry. She'd fallen asleep in a small burrow she'd made. Unfortunately, Ana didn't think things through and had gotten soaked from the previous nights downpour. A little water never hurt anyone too badly, though. She had lay out in the sun that had started to break through, allowing her coat to dry.

With a stretch, she moved from her cozy little spot she'd made. An imprint was left in the ground from where she made her temporary dwelling, her fur sticking out in different directions and a bit unkempt. Pieces of it stuck up, giving her a strange, frizzy look. Her eyes were bright, internally refreshed even if it did not reflect on her appearance.

A low grumble came from her stomach, indicating it was time to stock up on food once more. As luck would have it, she was not alone. Her dark ears perked up at the sound of another's voice; an invitation that she would gladly accept. Lifting her right paw, she used her tongue to dampen it before straightening out some of the bed hair, making herself look somewhat more presentable. With that out of the way, she moved at a brisk pace towards where the call had come from.

Anahita 's vision was met with his bright coat, a stark contrast to her own monochrome design. A small grin was flashed in his direction as she approached him. "Greetings, stranger." her light tone would greet him, deciding to take a spot to his left. "I'm Anahita, here to help." she would give him, before taking a seat, waiting to see if they would get any other takers. Until then, she was happy to make small talk and get to know the natives a bit more.

Carefully moving through the Grove and admiring the life around her as it went about its day, she was eager to follow a scent that had dropped just this morning. A little late to the investigation but it wasn't hard to follow its scent from Vermeda and well into the territory neighboring them. Wandering with her nose sticking to what was in front of her as it led her deep within the Grove's territory where she eventually found other lions that may or may not be on the same path. Renly couldn't be so sure what it was that she had been following or how big it was but she was always of the notion that extra help was always good to have. Not only that, but she had a feeling that it cemented the bonds between prides and one of them held that of the Hollow, she was certain. That bode well for yet another strong connection.

Since she had left Vermeda, Wanheda had settled into a makeshift den within the Grove. It was a rather beautiful and secluded area she had found, and for the time being she were satisfied with staying there for the foreseeable future. But with being on your own came with some sleepless nights, the previous night being one of them. She had laid in her den listening to the thrumming of the downpour, watching as the rain puddled several feet away from the entrance of her den. Every now and again would she find herself slipping into a light sleep, but with a sudden noise or a fierce gust of wind would she be awoken.

She didn't realize she had finally dozed off into a deeper sleep until rays of sun shone upon her face, causing for her to stir. A few sleepy blinks would make the warrior glance around her before slowly rising to all fours, giving herself a good shake and stretching out before she emerged from her den. Taking a look around would the she go right to work, searching out some herbs to keep stocked in her den to replenish some she had to toss out for being to old or wilted. Nose would take her to a patch of white weed, inspecting it briefly before allowing a paw to begin to gingerly dig around to uproot it. Using her jaws would she gently pull it out from the ground, resting it beside her before she went to work on another one.

While in the process of repeating what she had just done would the call catch her immediate attention, ears twisting as skull turned in the direction it had come from. While she would have normally ignored it and continued to work Wanheda had to keep in mind that she didn't have a pride cache to go back to, and the hunger was beginning to slowly gnaw away at her. With a soft exhale of breath would the chartreuse cat make her way toward where the sound had some from, taking this time to throw in a jog to get her heartrate up and her blood pumping. The lioness would leap smoothly over fallen trees and dodge steeping into puddles, unsure if they were deeper than what they appeared to the naked eye. She'd keep up the steady pace until icy eyes would landed upon three figures, much younger than herself, slowing down until she were at a full stop. She did notice the familiar face of @Renly, the scent of the Brook strong on her coat. The other two were unknown to her (whether or not she had hunted with them before she couldn't remember) and so she would give the trio a simple nod of her head before her body would slip into a crouch, sniffing the air and waiting to see what would appear for them.

It was the call that had gotten Valerius' attention. He had been using the Grove as a training area of sorts, with all of its lush flora and areas that were denser than others. He had been jogging back and forth on a well worn path, every now and again pushing himself into a full on sprint before slowing down back to a jog. He was getting older now and it only told him that he needed to continue to keep his body in shape and not let his age make him feel as if he were old. But as he heard the call would the Nikolov change his direction, jogging slowly toward where it seemed to have come from.

Green eyes would take in his surroundings as he made his way toward the small group, nostrils flaring to take in the scents that wafted around him. The many smells of the Grove were intermingled with the lions that were before him, some he may have seen before in passing but memory not remembering at the moment. He would give them all a curt nod of his maw as he looked at each of them before settling into a slight crouch, now waiting.

It was time for another hunting trip outside of the Oasis' lands, always happy to take the opportunity to both improve her hunting skills, and to take breaks from the hot mess the dessert could be sometimes. Eyes of fire lurking through the pastures, pastures that went wet and soaked from the rain's path. Giving the place an humid scent, to fresh grass and earth.

But there was not time to lose, to enjoy the place as hunting was to be the main focus of today's trip. And how lucky and timely her search went as a group of lions stood by her eyes. A hunting party? If it was, she wasnt shy to join in even without a formal invitation. This was a free for all land so she wanst going to ask permission to hunt here. And quietly she prepared to hope into it.

The last land he went into never turned to be that attractive to stay any longer and it was time for the Ranger to change of scenario. Tha maleness boy could be certain he prefferd not so arid places to be. Nothing to enjoy there from a meal, meals that seemed almost inexistent. His face reflected annoyance and tiredness. He wanted to rest and find water. And even more food. But what? What could he hunt here? He could always try to find anything easier enough for him alone to take down. And without a mane to bother him he felt free to try his luck in everything. And it was when his eyes fell on a group of lions. A diverse one. Oh how nostalgic that looked, like when he hunted along his gang, his clan. Who's he havent seen in a while. Well it was time to work and like that he joined into the fray.

Their eyes trained forward and readiness residing in the poise. She knew the look, and spying the familiar figure of Alma among their numbers, she too would join them. Her eyes clipped swiftly across the others, finding the youth from her past hunt there too. She allowed a smile grip her expression, pleased to know the girl was continuing on her journey into such industriousness. The one who seemed to be leading their party too, struck her as vaguely familiar. But, this was not a social outing, this one was to keep herself in good form.

He had left the mire with the intention of getting some exercise, stretching his legs somewhere where the mud could not suck at them. This was why he was running at full speed across the fields, pouring every bit of effort he had in to his burning muscles.

It was only the scent of prey that stopped him, followed shortly by the scent of her. Colour him intrigued. A hunt for old times sake, then?

Altering his path he slowed his stride until he was all but slinking up to join the gathered group. Vivid green eyes settled first on the boy leading them and then on her, a quirk of his lips expressing his amusement. “nobody else id rather hunt with,” he mused as he settled his breathing, his tone light and friendly, as he bumped shoulders with the Oasis queen and settled in to position by her side.

1 year old — no bonus Hunting was one thing she could do, one way she could contribute. As the days shifted towards autumn she enjoyed watching the storms that drenched the lands, but she was thrilled when the sun came out. First she tracked her best friend, following his scent until it mingled with a new target. Instinctively she licked her lips, lowering her head over the ground to keep better track of what she was smelling. Soon it was joined by other scents, strangers mostly, and as she joined the group she lingered near the maned boy that led them.
