The noise is what had first alerted the antlered male to something just not being right within the cave system. The rocky floor made it impossible to find any viable tracks to follow. That left the extra small male with scenting and tasting the air to find out where the noise was coming from. The way sound echoed around this place made it hard to tell.

Eventually Quill came upon a pair of rhino calves. That was clearly where the noise was coming from. The changeling pressed himself close to a rock wall to watch the calves. They didn't seem as if they were leaving anytime soon. That gave Quill time to backtrack some to send his own call through the caverns to alert the rest of the pride. A part of him hoped Hiccup would come. Then he could show the strange Fair One that he really could hunt.

With the call made Quill quickly returned to his hiding spot to watch the calves from once more while he waited for help to arrive. He knew he could hunt but he also knew that two rhino calves were too much for him alone.

seven years, no bonus, pride tier 4. Jafar was more than thankful to have several minutes where he could focus on assisting his new pride with a hunt. It had been a while since he had participated in one given that he had been injured during a few of them and now that he could be more active, he felt inclined to put himself out there. Easing into the gathered hunt and seeing only one lion thus far to take down the prey that had stumbled across their hollowed tunnels but had faith that Roan's pride would come together. After all, he had every reason to believe that this was a well-oiled machine of a pride and did quite a lot to assist others. +5 Participate in a hunt using the rolled hunt system

The sound that echoed down the chambers of the Hollow was familiar to Hiccup: rhinoceros. The pride had hunted them before, so he knew that they would need some muscle to bring down such prey. He recognized how young the pair sounded, but he also thought it unwise to pass on a hunting opportunity, especially with the weather cooling. It was an unfortunate thing, yet it had to be done.

He was not the first to find the prey — that had been @Quill, whose call inspired Hiccup to hurry up. @Jafar was there too when the yearling slipped onto the scene. He smiled and nodded at the older lion, before lowering himself into a crouch and crawling his way closer to his antlered acquaintance to join him. Hiccup said nothing, but his smile was bright and confident when he directed it at Quill. He was ready to pair up and help bring in dinner for the pride.

Bijoux followed after her father. Though she tried not to make it too obvious that she was following him. She lost in the cold and dark tunnels of the Hollows. She wasn't certain what to do with herself. This place didn't feel like home to her, not the way that the Mire did. She had enjoyed the small, intimate pride. She had known all of the animals there. There didn't seem to be too many animal friends to be found in the cave system.

The yearling had no idea what was going on but her Papa Jafar just sat waiting for something. And then she heard it. Bijoux perked up at the sounds of the calves. She wasn't thinking food but potential new friends instead.

1 year old — no bonus Determined to be dutiful she found herself often following Hiccup. While a part of her wondered if she was becoming a hindrance to the young male, she did her best not to worry about such things. There had been too much of that in her past, and Asteria was trying to move forward. A hunt was a common event To bring the best friends out together, and as per usual she was not far behind @Hiccup. Stretching her muscles, thankful for the cooler fall air that did not scorch her coat so intensely, she moved to stand beside him with a slight bump of shoulder to shoulder. Her eyes turned to Quill who had summoned them, scenting the air and intrigued by the fact that it was not a simple pre. Flexing her claws she stood ready and waiting, bright eyes intent on the gathered group.

It was a familiar sound. The sound of rhino calves bellowing through the caves immediately sprang the thought of a hunt to the king's mind. He wasn't the only one either, it would appear, as the call of lion rang out shortly after noticing the rhinoceroses. This voice, however, was less familiar. A stranger, infact, but if they were so bold as to call for the pride, Roan could only assume that his pride mates were doing well with their recruiting endeavors. Better than his own, it would seem.

The thought of fresh faces within Obsidian brought a contented grin to the king's face as he made his way through the tunnels. It would not only be the sight of @Quill that was new to him. The mauve male was happy to see @Jafar and @Bijoux joining in as well, this being their first hunt with the pride since joining the Hollow. @Hiccup and @Asteria were always welcomed additions as well, especially considering the difficulty even young thinks could pose. With new individuals to work with, it would help to still have those the Hodari was experienced with hunting together with take part. Roan slipped up among the group, looking to whoever planned to lead things before doing as he was told. Though the masked man might lead the pride, he was humble enough to admit when others were better at something else such as hunting. His size, however, might be of some good use against the bulky rhino calves.

Admittedly, Avana was not in the best of spirits lately. This whole mist thing had gotten her down and frustrated. Whenever they seemed so close to finding someone, the mist did something new to block their endeavors. Just when she thought they were finally going to find her father, someone different emerged from the mist. It was growing old and the Hodari was losing hope, but at the same time, she knew she couldn't wallow forever. The sounds of a hunt were enough to drag the woman out of her den, needing some sort of distraction for the day. She paid little attention to those around her, just going through the motions of attending. As lead hunter, perhaps she should have been instructing them all on how to go about the most effective way to snag both calves, but in the back of her mind, she knew Hiccup could do that himself. Heck, maybe even the stranger, as Avana assumed him to be the one that had called for them. For now, the strawberry lass moved to stand at her brother's side before slightly leaning into his shoulder for comfort. Another hunt... Let's get this over with.

ten years, no perks

Now this... this was dangerous. They could all be thankful it was only a pair of children, but even young rhinos were large and potentially deadly. They would need everyone possible to be there to make sure they didn't get anywhere near a cub... or an expectant mother. So, Tobin rose from where he had been resting and approached the chaos, joining the throng of lions gathering. He might not be able to do much, but surely he could do something of use. If nothing else, he could block one of the passages that lead deeper into the hollow.

Fortunately, there were many there who had come to respond to the noise, and he thought they had a good chance at this.
