If he were to make this mud pit a home and surrender the pride of rogue life to that of the general population - a sort he quietly looked down his nose at, if he were being honest - he supposed he needed some sort of a title to wave at people. 'King Violarum' was goals, and anything less made his tummy feel a bit skewiff. A feeling barely contained by reassuring himself it was in his best interest.

He doesn't much suppose the Pride had the numbers to render much competition here, but still he lays claim to the rank with a wholesome chuff - perhaps more akin to a roar without the bother of actually opening his mouth. Backside flops, perhaps far too casual about the whole situation.

alaric was hardly surprised that @Violarum wanted a rank of his own. much as he recognized the laziness in the boy he saw, too, the desire for more. for a position that would earn him whatever riches he wanted -- food, women, and all the same things alaric himself valued. the wheat king cared little for the title, he merely wanted his bloodline secured and his bed warmed -- the politics of it all be damned.

but here he was, and here violarum was, and the king approached with a quirk of his lips. "you will fight my wife," the quirk turned to a grin, "and to the winner belongs the spoils."

@Erna was restless and caged? well, consider this a gift...

he tipped his head and called for the rike woman, and then for whomever else might want to watch. this is how things were done in his pride, and alaric welcomed any that wanted to earn their place through blood. when erna arrived he would indicate the boy with a jerk of his head. "i want to see you fight him," and he moved to slide across her side before he would take his seat, "and whomever wins will be my gentry."

the loser? well... it would depend on how hard they fought.

Kinki shouldn't be here but she has a need to watch, perhaps she wouldn't understand that much but it promised to be entertaining still, worthy of her to watch. The tiny cub would sit down in her own, eyes of blue watching everyone's moves, watching @Alaric with and smile but also to the challenger @Violarum. She brought a mouse she caught as an snack to accompany her while she watched, silent and just paying attention. She though deep on Alaric's words the last time they spoke, and the mouse on her paws was the start of the new story of her life. "Go go go go!" She gave her own kind of cheer to whoever would win.

Restless was an understatement. From feeding the newborns, being kept up all night due to their constant screeching and squirming to despairing her fate Erna Rike felt a mixture of exhaustion, uneasiness, and complete, utter boredom. A battle-hardened wanderer such as herself was now caged like a wild beast behind the stone walls of her den and the borders of the Mire. Her torture was having to look after the barely-walking whelps that were partially at fault for her fate. The other part was all Alaric.

Who else would be at fault? She regretted what she'd done but not because of the pain and suffering she'd inflicted upon her victims. No, they were not victims at all if you ask her. She regrets it only because she was made to suffer, locked up here, and with @Alaric's noose constantly tightening around her neck.

When his call rang out, the bearish woman almost flew out of her den. She was a dutiful little hound and she was grateful for this tiny bit of air offered by her husband. When she arrived, he pressed into her cold flank, her violet eyes gazing at him and waiting for an explanation. The warmth of his wheat side was comfortable and familiar, and she longed for more of his touch. However, a battle was issued and Erna was more than happy to oblige.

Rank or no rank, she could care less what the occasion was. What mattered was that she'll be stretching her muscles with the bonus opportunity of getting back on Alaric's good side. Her eyes narrowed in on @Violarum, a smug smirk pulling on her scarred lips. It's the man she'd tussled with a week or so ago. Good! It was an opportunity to finally be truly equal now that she was no longer being weighed down by a belly full of children.

The dark-pelted mother jumped out of her spot, quickly picking up the pace as her feet devoured the distance between herself and the auburn man. She aimed to approach him from his right side, slightly from the back. Teeth attempted to wrap tightly around his right hip, close to the base of his tail while her left paw lifted and attempted to grab onto the top of his haunches for a more secure hold.

A call was made, although it was not a summons by any means, and thus Ronin would answer- he had promised as much…hadn’t he? Heaving a sigh the beast would rise and venture towards the call, arriving just as the battle would begin it seemed. The bearish bitch was lunging for the seated Violarum and he couldn’t help but snort a soft laughter at the other mans laziness. The cheering of Kinki would catch his attention and he would smile to the child before moving closer to @Alaric. “Making him fight off all the food he ate?” He’d ask dryly, there was no denying that everyone knew by the constantly distended belly Violarum had been the one gorging on the food cache. Perhaps Alaric was making him pay for it?

He had a tiny child cheer squad so that was nice. Though, as the pale Sovereign arrives and declares his opponent - Violarum knows the banshee who answers is certainly not so charming. He is aware that the dark wife of Alaric had emptied her womb, and therefor had little to hold her back since the last time they had met. As she arrives the clay man will stand in anticipation of her assault, knowing full well she was not the kind to wait politely.

He allows the long-haired lioness to round his side whilst he sets his defenses, but little does he know that the last time a woman bit his butt in battle, it was also a Rike. No less blood-thirsty. She clashes into his form with zero reservation, her teeth striking near the base of his tail, sinking beneath taut skin. Her left limb finds purchase against his left upper thigh, talons piercing flesh, sure to draw blood.

He pivots his forelimbs to his own right, trying to bring their bodies closer together. Parted jaws will seek her right hind limb, attempting to bite down upon the ligaments above her hock. In virtually the same breath he will blindly attempt to stomp his right hind foot down upon Erna's right fore, hoping to pierce the webbing of her toes - thinking if he can assault two of her standing limbs, she will either be forced to retreat or struggle for balance.

Bloodthirsty teeth puncture the taut flesh across the base of @Violarum's tail and she retracts her jaws back, chin tucking to shield her jugular. The adrenaline rises, bubbling in her veins like a volcano about to erupt in glorious destruction. Simultaneously, her left claws rip through flesh too, drawing blood in their wake, before returning down to the wet ground.

The auburn challenger begins to pivot, twisting like a snake and aiming for the worst possible place he could've picked. Her anger rises like an inferno at the attempted assault upon her weakest spot. It was her bad leg, one left fragile after Saga's teeth had abused it to an ugly state. She quickly attempts to pivot to her own left, away from his teeth. Still, Erna cannot escape his teeth grazing against the scarred tissue of her right hind leg, but it was hard enough to give him a grip. She yowls at the pain, blood trickling down the sensitive skin.

In a blind fury, her jaws attempt to grip the right side of his face, caring little where as long as she could hurt him. She doesn't see his right left stomping down on her own front right paw and takes the claws with a snarl, pain shooting up her wrist. Her left leg attempts to tear into the back wrist of his right leg, the one atop her own, to try and swat it away. The rest of her three legs were spread beneath to aid her balance.

His teeth barely managed to pinch at scar tissue as the woman stepped away from him, he does not hold the grip - satisfied at the pooling of blood, and knowing full well he had missed his target anyway. Similarly his foot lands upon her own paw, but it is barely an instant later that their changed position results in the woman snapping at his face - her canines pinching behind his right cheek. He will attempt to mirror her efforts as best as he could, trying to snag some of the loose skin upon her own cheek in an effort to even the playing field.

The long-haired banshee slashes at the ankle of his hind; forcing his own talons to retract, an instantaneous scowl reverberating from his throat at the pain. Blood pooled to the surface of torn skin. Violarum's foot would attempt to return to the stability of the earth to allow for the lifting of his right forepaw; seeking to swipe his claws down the lower part of her right ribcage.

The moment her teeth land behind his right cheek, she attempts to viciously tear free from him. As a result, his teeth leave deep gashes across her right cheekbone, tearing some hair along with them. Blood oozed, the pain numbed by the rush of adrenaline as their bodies clashed. Erna was in her element, letting fury and strife consume her completely, allowing it to prevail above all other emotions brought by her entrapment within the Mire.

Her claws managed to achieve what they'd intended, swatting away at the man's paw and freeing her own right paw from his grasp. Her leg returns to the bloodied mud below, tail lashing to support her as the long-toothed woman begins to pivot to try and face him. Half-way, his claws leave shallow marks across her right ribcage, a grunt escaping her part jaws. The Rike woman lifts her left paw up, attempting to slash at the foe's right shoulder.

He hadn’t expected the dark woman’s violent motion, her skull tearing away from his own - peeling free a portion of golden skin that left a rather gaping hole within her wrathful wake. His cheek oozed, adrenaline coursed, the throb of pain bringing a likelihood of permanent scarring.

Erna pivots, her changed position weakening his assault upon her ribs. In a similar moment she is facing him, her right foreclaws slash at his shoulder - and it is this gesture that immediately triggers his reaction. He would attempt to drive forward and slightly to his own left, a wholesome effort to try and slam his right shoulder against her breast, seeking to crunch her lifted forelimb against her own body before it could return to safety.
