The woman explained things her family tended to believe, though she did not include herself as being partial. Even so, she would agree with his theory, finding it practical along with a theory of her own that, to Tyr, seemed just as likely as his own.

He nodded in agreement with her, though did not interrupt as she continued speaking. This time, however, her words fell to questioning him, a smug smile pulling at the corners of her maw. A slight scowl darkened his own features as his ears tucked back again. Damn... she was hung up on that question, wasn't she? The determination in her to find some kind of crack in his resolve was relentless.

"I was hoping you hadn't come to me for protection... I had just been training. I was tired." Tyr explained matter-of-factly with a shrug, turning away from her to simply avoid eye contact now. However, this time was different than the last. Out of the corner of his eye he looked back, ears relaxing and a sly smile of his own tugging at his maw.

His response to her question was perfectly reasonable, but she found herself wondering if someone who was so easily ruffled and angered would have been willing to protect her, or if he would have just turned his nose up at her and went on his merry way. She'd reserve judgement. After all, she hardly needed protecting as a warrior in her own right.

It seemed, though, that he was loosening up a little. Though he turned away from her, she did not miss his ears as they relaxed a little and the slightest of smiles on his muzzle. It seemed that there was some way to get him to lighten up a little, and she returned his smile with a glint in her eyes.

"Fair enough," she said with a curt nod of her head. "Lucky for you we had the same idea; I was exercising as well." She flexed her claws into the soft grass beneath her paws. It was easier to train out here, where there was so much space. The Lagoon was limited by the ocean that surrounded it. "Besides," she huffed proudly. "I don't let others fight my battles for me." In her homeland she had been a talented warrior, as had her sister. Raised by warriors to be warriors. They didn't sit around and let others do the fighting, or run to strangers for protection.

"You say was. Are you not tired anymore?" her voice was hopeful; maybe they could help each other in their training endeavors. She wasn't exactly looking for a fight so much as someone to practice with.

The woman relented to his explanation, accepting it in it's entirety without question. It was refreshing to not be met with a thousand oppositions, as was often the case in his experience. In fact, there were a lot of things Tyr found refreshing in this woman; Her accent was enchanting, the honor in her morals spoken, the wit and the way she resisted his wrath.

His gaze had wandered to look upon her more closely, lost in his mind as she spoke. He was not ashamed of it, and instead gave her a confident smile. "Honorable of you, Kvinne." he commented before she struck a question.

Tyr would think on this answer a moment. "Strikingly, not since you found me here." He would respond with a deep chuckle. Then with a hiked brow, boldly asked; "In fact, might the place you call home have room for one more?". Perhaps he wanted to be closer to her. Perhaps he simply needed some steady ground to stand on as he recouped. whatever the reason, he waited anxiously for her response.

The male's question caught Tiamat a little off-guard, having not expected him to seek entrance into a pride she had barely even mentioned and that he had, in fact, rather scoffed at when she had mentioned their fears of the mists and the missing lions from their ranks. Her face fell into a thoughtful expression, for a moment, thinking over to the Lagoon. She was less certain about how she felt about the place these days, with the sovereign claiming to be carrying demigods in her recent pregnancy.

"I don't see why not," she said after a few moments of contemplation. Of course, she was only a newer member, along with her more ambitious sister who had already been trying to move up in the pride. "I don't have the authority to invite you just yet," she continued, hinting that she had plans of her own for her position in the pride. "My sister and I only joined it recently. But they seem eager to welcome in new blood."

"I'll warn you, though," she said, her voice growing serious and darker. "The family that runs the pride is superstitious." The tone of her voice made it quite clear that she was not of the same mind as them. She was one of the first to scoff at Saga when she had announced her pregnancy and its apparent significance. "I don't know what god they believe in, but the leader seems to think she is carrying the offspring of him." And she snorted, her derision blatantly apparent on her face.

Who could have thought that merely showing interest in joining a pride would garner so much more information to spill forth? He frowned slightly, taking in all that was said with deadly seriousness. His question had thrown the female for a loop, but it would seem -ultimately- she decided it was nothing to be concerned with.

He hiked a skeptical brow when he was told of the god growing in the leader's belly. The new information did not make him retract his intention of joining, but so many more questions began to take flight. "Is that so..." he said thoughtfully, "And... this is something that you are willing to accept?" He finally questioned.

The older woman was not a fool. She knew reason and logic, from what he had heard from her thus far. She seemed to be just as skeptical of this sort of thing as he was himself... and yet there she was. That cub was going to grow up thinking themself a half-god. What kind of ruler does that to her child? What kind of predecessor would that child be after such an upbringing?! It sounded like madness!

Tiamat could, perhaps, be saying a little too much about the pride she was living in, but her annoyance with the leader after their pride meeting had made her question the choice that she and her sister had made at the passage. Perhaps Jewel would have lead them to a better pride. But now they were in the Lagoon, and her sister was doing all she could to settle herself there, and Tia would have been loathe to move them again so soon.

For most of their conversation, Tia had been standing. Now she lowered her haunches to the ground, hitting the grass with a thump, and hunched her shoulders forward in frustration. Her ocean-colored eyes looked out into the fog, narrowed in a glare that made it clear she was less than happy with the circumstances she found herself in.

"No," she huffed, turning back to him. "I don't like it. It's wrong." Blasphemous? Maybe. In her mind it was more impossible than anything. Wrong was an understatement. She didn't want to be a part of...whatever it was that was going on with the Sigrun family. "When my sister and I joined we were.....not made aware of certain beliefs held by the leaders. It seemed a good choice at the time."

Tyr hummed in understanding as he listened to the woman express her concerns. A lip curled in disdain as he heard that the woman and her sister had not even been made aware before they moved in. It was definitely a breeding ground for contempt amongst the leader, her family and her pride.

Tyr mirrored the woman's movements, taking it upon himself to lay beside her and make himself comfortable. With his forward gaze distant in thought, and a scowl tugging on his features, Tyr wondered; "Do you know of others in the pride who feel the same as you?"

Perhaps this could be an opportunity for him. If enough lions in the pride were unsupportive of this... perhaps he could find a way to usurp the throne and take command of the pride for himself. If not... hmmm ~

His tail tossed casually behind him, at one point finding the tip of her own. He would look at her though the corner of his eye with a deep interest.

She found that she liked the young male lion and his way of thinking, even if he had jumped to conclusions at the beginning of their meeting. And she could appreciate a young one with such injuries. In her culture warriors were marked by their scars and injuries. They were badges of honor; reminders of great battles, victories, and lessons learned. She wondered what stories he had to tell of his scars. Her own scars were a reminder of the victory she had won, while at the same time committing a crime. She would never wish to get rid of them but the memory was still a raw wound in her mind.

Tia shook her head at his question. "I'm still new and not easily trusted," she answered, her voice lined with frustrated regret. She wanted to tell him that there were more who disliked the way the Sigrun lead, but she just didn't know. "Most of them seem to be related to the Sigrun family in some way. And the high sovereign is Sigrun as well."

They seemed to be a large family, well established here. But Tiamat did not know much of their relationships with other entities in Amaryllis. Surely such a large family would have garnered attention somehow, and created enemies among the other inhabitants.

His tail brushed against the tip of her own, startling her from her reverie, and she turned her ocean-colored gaze to him, curiosity in the look she gave him. He'd relaxed a great deal since their initial run-in. He was interesting to her, and she didn't even know his name yet.

Tyr would sigh heavily as she revealed that the pride was most likely a large family that went by the name of Sigrun... with some unrelated members sprinkled here and there. Something Tyr couldn't possibly manage to overthrow alone. He tilted his head in luau of a shrug, "Unfortunate. I wouldn't have much to gain if I were to join up, it would seem." He said with a bit of exasperation before he met the ocean-blue of her gaze with his blood-red.

"I suppose I could always start to build a rogue band... of course, I couldn't do it alone." The words were a hint in and of themselves, but he was careful to keep his tone of voice from leading her on. Honeyed, yet casual. Yes, he wanted her to join him. He wanted her to leave the madness that was her home now. They were young, lively! He had strong ambitions, and he had a burning desire for an equally strong woman by his side!

She was disappointed that it seemed he would drop his idea of joining the pride, but she couldn't blame him after what she had shared about the family that held power there. If she had known what she knew now, she might have insisted that she and her sister follow Jewel to the Mire that day. But it was too late now to go back and change things. However, it was always possible to change things going forward...

"Looking for a throne?" she asked, her voice dancing between something akin to teasing and something more serious. She wouldn't have minded seeing the Sigrun family taken down a few notches. Though she'd had little personal contact with most of them, she already disliked Saga, with her claims of carrying demigod children and the way she had approached her sister's gentry challenge.

It would be difficult to do that alone, though, with a whole pride as close-knit as this one was. She couldn't blame him for thinking twice about it.

And then he mentioned building up a rogue band, but not alone. A smirk tilted up the corner of her mouth. She wasn't amused, not exactly, but she was something. Honored? Excited? Maybe a little of both, really. "Is that a request," she asked him, "or an invitation?" She wouldn't mind joining forces with the younger male. She wasn't happy with the status quo in the pride. She was certain her sister would understand, and the chaos that might occur from any of this might be just the kind of thing her sister needed to practice her poisons.

"Tiamat Anatu," she replied in turn to @Tyr with a slight bow of her head. Perhaps this would be the start of an interesting relationship.
