Eyes widened before a Yes,
parted from his dry lips- brows furrowing as he tried to think around his headache. He's alive?
Was his father here, in Amaryllis? Had he returned with his mother? Did he truly have family waiting for him somewhere? He'd been so ready to die in the mud he didn't give the thought to his family- thinking he'd been alone. But now... he may see them again?

Summer
Summer is in full swing now, with clear skies, warm nights, and ample sunshine! As such, the deserts begin to grow dry, the shores remain a blissful escape, the north is spared with cooling winds, and humidity continues to rise in the jungle. Rain and storms are long forgotten troubles by now, which is both a virtue and a vice during the heat of the season.

With the water refreshing him, Zosimos was feeling more like himself with each passing second; minus the wounds that scathed his body. Alaric drew his attention to him though, and away from the water, with a question he didn't think he'd ever hear- or at least, not so soon.

his suspicions were confirmed, as surprised as the boy seemed to be. "Indeed he is. He is the ruler of the neighboring pride, in the rainforest." So close and yet so far.
His gaze slid over the boy, and he mulled over the notion of taking him there immediately. "I think it's best you get some rest -- I can ask your father to come here?" @Zosimos would undoubtedly need some time to heal and regain his strength, and while the rainforest was close it was still a challenging trek with the swamp and the thick foliage.
"there's an empty den near here -- you can eat and sleep and then I'll go and get your father." A pause, to see how the plan was received.

Hearing the news of his father was... odd. He was relieved, glad he was alive- it made him hopeful the rest of his family was well too. But it also made him scared; what if his family didn't accept him anymore? What if he was too... weak?
"Can... I stay? With you?"
The question blurts out from his lips to @Alaric, but Zosimos is too late to stop it. He feels safe with the brute, after all he had saved his life; and he knew he was too weak to live on his own and not be in a pride. He didn't want his family to see him in this state though. He wanted to be better- in all ways. And, he felt in debt to Alaric as well.

It caught him off guard enough that he was silent for a moment, blinking at the boy. "Of course, if that's what you'd like." He would want to check with Zoticus, first, but he didn't feel the need to elaborate. If the boy wanted to stay the mire would be sure to have space for him, even growing as they were.
"Come, then," he encouraged the boy to stand and follow him back to ecrosia, "let's get you settled and then you can tell me what happened." Alaric wasn't going to let him stay without some kind of explanation, but he was very much willing to let the boy rest, first.
Slowly he would make his way back to the pridelands, offering the boy assistance where it was needed and wondering all the while what Zoticus would think of this.
