July Y13
Summer
Summer is in full swing now, with clear skies, warm nights, and ample sunshine! As such, the deserts begin to grow dry, the shores remain a blissful escape, the north is spared with cooling winds, and humidity continues to rise in the jungle. Rain and storms are long forgotten troubles by now, which is both a virtue and a vice during the heat of the season.

Assurance of Process
01-27-2021, 10:59 AM
Siofra padded on gentle wind through the Hollow; having grown accustomed to the dark, to the thick blanket of air, she moved with confidence and purpose. Down each turn and branch she poked a nose inwards and took a few quick inhalations of the perfume drifting back towards her, the scents passed along the roof of her mouth and in for consideration. "Dad?" She called down one where his musk became thicker and fresher. Down that path she took herself at a quicker pace and began repeating the same process in her search for the Sovereign and patriarch. Her mind both wandered and fixated on the same nexus. A nebulous of an idea, a mission and around it whirled the rest of her thoughts and ponderings. She'd made Sunny a promise to at least get information; ease his wonderings and provide some certainty for she knew she could do no more for him.... "Dad?" Again her clay throat twittled with her voice.

There is someone calling him. Stirring the monster from his sweet nightmares, drawing him from rest. The first dad simply causes him to start surfacing, the second causing him to wake. To stretch his jaws and rise. Blinking in the dim light, he not limps from his den. He is battered but proud as he traverses the tunnel that leads to his private quarters, emerging, looking left, then right and then spotting his youngest daughter. He approaches, gently reaching out with his muzzle to press against her forehead. He usually would have given her a sort of hug but he is too sore so the forehead press would do. "Yes Siofra?" he queries as he steps back. Watching the quiet youth with burning gaze, curious as to what she would say, what she needed.

MY MOTHER TOLD ME
Someday I will buy Galley with good oars Sail to distant shores Stand up on the prow Noble barque I steer Steady course to the haven Hew many foe-men. My mother told me Someday I will buy Galley with good oars Sail to distant shores Stand up on the prow Noble barque I steer -------------
She made gentle purposeful movements towards her father, pressing her skull against his responsively and then turning her muzzle upwards to lightly nuzzle her nose and the side of her maw against his. "I did not mean to wake you." He looked so much like her brothers when they roused from slumber- still putting themselves together behind their eyes for ages while trying to understand the world around them. They were much less accustomed to being woken as such though, Siofra did not hesitate to dive into business with her father. "I wanted to ask of a woman Poppy who lives amongst us- I met a concerned family member of hers." Siofra's diplomatic and calmed voice began the telling. "We're not keeping any prisoners or restricting to the pridelands are we?" We, us- Words meant to confer unity and her place. "He was concerned he had not seen her for a while."

His daughter is affectionate in the quiet privacy, a small wince leaking as she pressed against an injury. Her apology earned a shrug. No matter, his daughter was worth it; she tolerated his grumbling when awoke abruptly. Unlike her brothers the daze did not last nearly as long and he was already aware at the time of her apology. As she posed her question, her allowed a little confusion to seep through and then her finishing statement earned a small chuckle. Gods above was that woman foolish and naïve. "No, we are not unless they have earned such dishonor. She is not the most worldly of creatures." he clarifies, shrugging his shoulders once more. Silly female, thinking that claiming meant she was prisoner. No no, as long as she came back to the pride lands and was around when he asked for her, then she was fine to come and go as she wished. Could explore and wander so long as she knew this is where she had to lay her head. "I claimed her but she receives the same freedoms every other woman does. She may come and go. She misunderstood. Sheltered she is." he finishes. Now that the question had been answered he had one for her. Moving on and believing the subject finished, he asked his daughter something. "Were you still interested in a political marriage? I may have found you someone." he queries, watching her with interest.

"I figured so much." She was relieved she had not accsidentally lied to Sunny. "I suppose I'd have the same worries if you went missing." Fallen down a hole, taken a bad injury and was unable to get home. Siofra would worry and move the earth to put them to rest. She could now return to Sunny and do as she promised; in mind too did she put to urge Poppy to seek out her kin in the Grotto where she'd found the young bard.
"I hadn't given it much more thought since we broached the subject yes- so I suppose yes I still am." She had not found herself overtly interested in the idea of marriage lately but neither opposed or fearful of it. She felt the act a duty, a job the same as hunting or healing the sick. It would do the Casimir good if she took the job on (and with as much respect possible to her sisters Siofra did not see them succeeding at the job as much as she...) "Tell me of him... her...?" Would her father have such scheming ideas to pair her up with another daughter? She would not put such a grand scheme past him; but with her interest piqued and her own concerns quelled she waited to hear more.
