⚓︎hakon was there, as seemed to be the norm, and she moved to his side. they hunted well together, and she was content to stick close by him as they worked to bring down some other poor creature for their homes.

calypso stopped periodically to refresh her mask, bits of grass and flower petals mingling with the dirt and mud. the swim home would be more than enough to clean it away, though she could not say she minded it either.

what she did mind was when they seemed to scare away any decent prey, instead coming upon two flamingo's that would hardly be enough to feed one of the adults gathered let alone any more. still she did her part to corral the beasts, but this time she would take no part of the felled meat. "let's go find somet'ing better, hmm?" this she offered to the palomino skagos with a soft brush of her nose, hoping he would follow her as she left the scene.

Several lions came to show their face amongst the hunt but the longer he stood there, the clearer it was to realize that there were far too many hungry mouths and too few flamingos to feed them all. As it were, he wasn't going to bail out now but instead focused on helping each and everyone of them as best he could. His strength was better off in the take down than the chase but he would work with what he was given, making use of himself somewhere in the mix of cats. Felling the flamingos without much fanfare before giving a vague nod of his head to anyone who cared, before setting off. He'd helped, what more could anyone want? exit mithros.

Their party had grown, collecting interest and it added fuel to the fire of their efforts. Greater numbers, greater mouths—and further demand. The flamingoes were in no way her favourite to chase down, though they had their challenges. Still, once their hunt was seen to be successful, she could not deny herself the warmth of victory. She settled, watching as two made their departure. It was then she found him. A thump remedied nothing, and only served to embroil her heart in transfixed guilt. She beamed towards @Amaroq, unabashedly rejoiced at their reunion. How good of you to help, she purred, taking for herself a trophy as she did. The length of her passed across his, giving @Alaric a parting gesture before returning towards the Oasis.

to say he was disappointed was an understatement. feathers were his least favorite thing to contend with, even if flamingos were large enough to have some meat to them. it was barely enough for the gathered group, and though he put in the effort to help bring them down he was disappointed all the same.

he watched @Aidoneus, a brow quirked at her familiar purr to the stranger. she snagged some of the felled creatures and he fetched a small chunk as well, though his retrieval was less than enthusiastic. with a small nod he bid her farewell, tracking towards the oasis with his meager contribution and a furrow on his brow.

the watering hole was hardly a surprising location but he knows there is good game here to be hunted. the waters were a danger in themselves and dotted along the bank there are plenty of dangerous animals. his bulky frame remains tense and ready, muscles flexing -- awaiting the go! signal. when it comes, he is almost surprised to find that the lions gathered here wanted to kill... .birds. the loud, pink ones with the strange noses and even stranger long legs. they die just like anything else though, the spirits guiding his paw ( moved and motivated, surely, by his prayer ). the dik-diks had proven to be hard to split up between the hunting party and so he assumes these birds to be impossible. instead, chest heaving, he steps away -- relishing in the success of a good hunt and the burn of muscles well-used. that, and an answered prayer, will have to be enough for today.

+20 find a notable landmark in a territory - 2/2 +20 explore a territory and find something useful in it - 2/2 +10 participate in a hunt using the rolled hunt system - 2/2 calypso is always an easy face to find, even here against all the green. her scent is harder to pick out against the growing crowd and it makes him frown, quietly wishing for the familiar herb spices and salt that she always seems to carry around with her. around the watering hole they gather and he keeps his attention sharp, focused — keenly noting where the watering hole lay against the rest of the plains. fresh water was always hard to come by, and though his treks inland were few and far between, it was always good to mark the landmarks and file them away for later. and it seems he didn’t even need to join their hunt. for some reason the party sets its sights on a meager meal for even one lion, let alone the rest of them. a huff, annoyed and displeased, rumbles from his throat as the flamingos die with ugly little squawks, and he does not have to be asked twice to leave the meager meat for the others. let them squabble like stray dogs over the scraps. he turns with @Calypso, giving a small grunt of approval as they set back off. down one of the game trails he’d noticed earlier, in pursuit of something greater. exit
