Prompt: A single, lonely Blesbok sends out a call for other Blesbok to join it in the new bathing spot that is the Lagoon.

He grows restless.

It is the first time he has hunted since his accident, and it feels odd. Though this is no wildebeest - the blesbok is small, and insignificant when compared to a beast like him - Magnus still felt… perhaps apprehensive was not the right word. Out of place, perhaps? He has had the time needed to recover physically - though he is certainly not 100% - and yet mentally it would take longer to catch up. It would not do to be idle, though; now he was ambulatory the brute had no intention of staying under the radar. And so he would watch the creature from afar, expression somber.

He waited.

the scent of her father was more than enough to prompt the girl forwards upon timid, devout paws, ears pinned back along her skull as she meandered through the familiar trails of their kingdom. she spotted @Magnus first, his large, hulking shape standing out clearly amongst the light sands beneath his feet -- but it was the prey that lingered just a little further down-shore that she noted next, following his gaze out towards the unsuspecting creature with a curious sort of glint to her gaze. hm. truth be told, this was the first time that she had seen her father out and about since his accident, and though she knew that he did not want pity nor judgment, his daughter could not help but to scan his figure quickly, before shielding her gaze and trailing up alongside his flank. she would opt to say nothing, finding the silence more soothing than the prospect of accidentally saying something that she would regret - and yet, clearly, she remained at the ready, prepared to follow instructions as they were given.

Vitala felt like she had been spending much more time outside of the lagoon lately. This day she spent time walking the borders and scavenging odds and ends; some trinkets she would be excited to give her sister. When she caught the scent of @Magnus it almost surprised her. He had been sequestered for a long time since his accident. She adjusted her course to go to him, finding him and @Voluspa. Their sights were set on a creature up ahead, lowering herself beside them and remained as silent as they - only offering a nod towards them as she awaited orders.

Call it what you will, but the viper removed herself from her den on what she had intended to be a lazy day. Yet something stirred it from her oceanside slumber and towards the beckoning call of a hunt. Leading herself forward at a slow pace until she caught @Vitala's scent and it ushered her a little quicker. If her sister was there, then she supposed the drive to be here was a little more fun. Aiming to come up alongside her kin's flank, she cast her gaze to @Magnus. It was fleeting, but it was there. A shamed and embarrassed feeling wrenching in her gut for she knew that she wasn't all that involved as she once was. Yet, she was still keeping an eye on the Lagoon for what it was worth.

Dice were rolled in discord by @Sylvey. you can play out the remainder of the hunt however you’d like.

with their combined prowess, ability, and strength, it should not have been a surprise to anyone that the group managed to secure the kill beneath their claws. it almost felt too easy (and perhaps it was, given the poor state of the single creature), but the hunting party moved in unison nonetheless, snarls ripping through the open air until the meal laid ready and still at their feet. content with her contribution, voluspa would cast a glance towards the other two women that had accompanied them, head dipping in a brief show of appreciation as she did. in the same vein, the sigrun would look to step out of the way for a few moments, allowing the rest of the group to take their fill, before she would either join them, or drag the remainder back to the catch. as was the ways of being the youngest present, she supposed. exit.

He is not alone for long; @Voluspa appears at his shoulder, both attentive to the cause and - more than likely - keeping an eye on him. The man could not blame her, truthfully, and even though his expression remains stoic he is pleased to see her. He would incline his head every so slightly to better regard her, blinking, before turning to watch the approach of the Kivasante sisters. @Vitala came first, with @Zulema shortly behind. Between the four of them....

Well, the beast fell easily.

Magnus pulled away, puffing with exertion - far more so than he would have before his accident - as he tore his share away from the creature and sat down to enjoy it. "Well done," he rasped, lips bloodied as he regarded each lioness for a moment - an extended, fond expression given to his daughter - before focusing back on their kill. Before long the team would disperse, but for a few moments they could enjoy each others company and the meal they'd snagged for themselves.

It was no surprise that her sister would be right behind her when she arrived for the call to hunt. A soft purr thrummed from her as she nudged her upon arrival, looking to the group with a nod of readiness. Of course, their skills were unmatched to their prey and within a few easy maneuvers of group effort they had a meal. When it was her turn to take some she leaned in close and tore off a chunk, but did not eat it there. Instead she held it with the intention of taking it to her den and enjoying it there. She looked to @Zulema and nodded that direction to invite her to share the meal together. Turning on her heels after the Sigrun pair departed, she padded away from the scene of the hunt. exit vitala

The hunt was over faster than they had assembled, leaving Zulema to hunch over where she had stopped chasing. Gazing at those that were gathereed with a hardened stare. She'd done these hunts more times than she could count and still, every single time it felt different and complex. As though the faces she were looking at were strangers both new and old faces that she'd never seen before but she had seen them, just from a distance. When @Vitala made eye contact with her and motioned to leave, Zu wasted no time in stalking after her grayed sister -- eager to put the distance behind her and spend what she hoped was some quiet and hushed moments with her sister. exit zulema
