+5 Observe a fight

she had followed @Solvi, intent on ensuring the safety of the tiny cub. asteria had followed her as she had followed @Saga, afraid that she would be lost amidst whatever was happening. saga clearly had her focus elsewhere, and whatever had happened or would happen she wanted to be sure that the children were safe.

asteria would have stepped up beside solvi if @Voluspa had not shown up first.

the black girl crouched, instead, behind a log at the edge of the gathering. her attention is solely on the young girl (her sister) but when the battle begins she is drawn to that, too. voluspa will surely keep the girl safe and so asteria feels comfortable enough to watch, intrigued by the clash of bodies.

The great thing about fighting for this piece of land was that he had no clear alliances. The only thing on his mind was earning this for @Maia and perhaps for @Bijoux, too. Maybe, if they wanted, the Hodari's could return but he wasn't certain that they would want to do that after the loss that they had endured. Alas, it was too late a thought now.

As he begins to move forward to off-balance @Saga, he can feel his claws inching forward and leaving much deeper lacerations that he would have liked. Bronze fur bloodied on both shoulders, Jafar is left with kicking at his stomach as she leaves scattered lacerations that could only get worse over time. Starting out as minor and a few that were cut upon twice that resorted to a deeper, darker cut. Jafar attempted to grab a hold of her left shoulder with his right foreleg before then attempting to roll his head forward and down, interesting in taking her down to the ground so that he might right himself once more.

She wants so very badly to go, to go where her mother and sister have gone. But Hillevi is not stupid, and she had taken heed to Saga's instruction. She will not leave without an escort. And so she sits grouchily at the border, staring petulantly out at the sandbar until a gruff voice calls out behind her. Her skull snaps around to spot the increasingly familiar form of @Hákon, beckoning to follow. Well, he certainly doesn't have to tell her twice. He's most definitely an adult, and that was the only guidance she'd been given, so she wastes no time with questions.

The nub of her tail twitches with anticipation as they go together to wherever her mother has gone, another girl she doesn't know also present among them. The place they reach is dark and wet, mud reaching up to her belly and chest considering her tiny size. Hillevi finds that she doesn't mind it at all, not in the way that Hákon seems to, a scowl on his lips.

Her ears twist forward at the sight of Saga engaging with someone she doesn't know, brows lilting up in curiosity. Ordinary children may be worried, may call out -- but she has not been born into a world of kindness, and her first instinct is not to be frightened, but excited. Hillevi plants herself between Hákon's forepaws, heeding the low growl of his command and plopping onto her haunches, her keen eyes drifting towards @Solvi, who is similarly being hovered over by @Voluspa. "Af hverju eru þeir að berjast?"* she queries to the sand-colored man, her toes squelching curiously in the mud all the while.

she sees nothing else but the blood and the fangs and the claws of her enemy: her own children go unnoticed, hakon and voluspa arriving for the spectacle ignored. there is only saga and this man and vellen seething in her ear: bleed, bleed, bleed and perhaps i will spare your lot. jafar may have nothing but an intent to impress his girlfriend, saga has a frenzied need to impress her god. and she fears what will happen should she lose.

his claws sink into her left shoulder, gliding under the skin to hook deep in the muscle. as his head sinks forward and down, attempting to shove her bodily to the ground, saga opens her jaws and released a pain groan. she doesn't fight hard against the shove and allows herself to slam to the ground with just enough force to make her body forget how to breathe for a moment - and that gives jafar his moment to right himself. and a heartbeat later, saga is rolling onto her own feet and before she's fully there, she's lunging down and forward. her open jaws attempt to snap around his left ankle and chomp down hard.

The call for a challenge rings strong in the air and naturally the skagos woman cannot resist. Her large paws have felt plenty a skull crack beneath them and she did not shy away from violence, it was their way after all. Slinking forward the gargantuan woman makes her way after @Hákon's scent, after all he is the most familiar being to her in this strange new place. When she does arrive the two that are fighting for this horrendous piece of landscape are already in the thick of battle. Naturally she gravitates over to her fellow Skagos, a smirk nestled onto her muzzle as she watches him watch her. "du är förtjust i henne?" Her quiet voice reaches out before she pulls her haunches beneath her to sit. The woman vaguely directs her plum gaze to the children near him, interesting, she did not peg him as one who would be fond of little ones. @Hillevi asks a question and she cannot resist responding, "To have this place for their own." She remarks blandly before turning her attention back to the fighters, well make it interesting then.

Calypso is drawn by curiosity.

The mire is not far from the rainforest, and she had taken note of the flooded land over the last weeks. For the most part she had steered clear, largely due to the fact that the damned snake had nearly taken her out. Her leg was largely healed, now, but she stilled walked with a limp.

It would be the longest trip she had taken thus far, and by the time she reached the site of the challenge her limp had grown more pronounced. The snakebite on her ankle was angry and oozing, but the swelling was greatly diminished.

There are a surprising amount of children present, and in the center of them a most unexpected presence. What the hell was @Hákon doing surrounded by so many... littles? Were they his? There was another lioness by his side, though she is not so easily deterred. He was the only familiar face here, after all. They spoke a language that she did not know but she, again, was not so easily deterred.

With an amused twitch of her lips she approached him, mindful of the small bodies, and took a seat near his side. "Friends of yers?" It is all she can do to hold back a chuckle, ocean-storm eyes sparkling with something akin to mischief. She couldn't help it - the sight of the stoic male with so many cubs was amusing to say the least.

Her gaze drifted briefly to the fight - only slightly interested in the outcome, though she would be happy to report back to the forest - before it returned to the male with a questioning quirk of her brow.

Despite the art of battle, Jafar was an honorable warrior and did not seek to brutally maim nor intend danger upon the undeserving. @Saga was likely doing much the same as him -- wishing to have a home for some reason or another, not simply out for vengeance like many. She could have her reasons and he, his. The main difference between them was that she had a family behind him, loyal and unwavering while his had left him long ago. All he had now was, well, himself and the hope of what could come.

As the two cascade into a brief but quick roll, Jafar is made free and releases his hold on her shoulder to push himself out and away from her. Chin lowered as he engorges himself on the air, clinging to a brief moment of calm before she begins to spring forward. Jafar does the same, but while her head moves down and aims for his leg, the bronze knight moves his head downwards to attempt to latch onto the top of her neck. Her teeth making its mark upon his left front ankle, sinking teeth into it as pain ricochet's through his body like a bullet searing through the veins.

Although he was late, Nero had arrived. It was difficult not to when your mother rushes off to battle, and all things considered he knew Asteria would be there too. The teenager was slow on his leg, but only because he had begun to put more and more weight on it to rehabilitate it back into use. By the time he arrived things looked like they were almost over, and without a single clue who was winning, Nero merely sank to his haunches alongside some of his younger siblings and a maneless man. "Hey guys," he greeted the cubs with a thin smile.. but only nodded to the older man. Nero didn't dislike him, simply didn't know who he was.. and when had he ever been extroverted enough to ask?

they spring towards one another, nimble and quick, and as saga's jaws latch around his ankle his own jaws find purchase in her scruff. the pain is immediate and the vision at the edge of her eyes greys with it. her instincts scream at the closeness of his hold to her throat but she's too close to the ground to truly worry for that, so she does little to deter his hold, instead trying to clamp down harder on his ankle. she hunkers down, placing her weight on her haunches, and seeking thrash her head from side to side with an intent to truly harm the other man. he may be honorable but saga? she has her own code of conduct. the motion of her attempted thrash will surely move his own jaws on her neck, deepening and lengthening the wounds in her scruff. simultaneously as she thrashes, she steps into jafar, trying to move forward with an attempt to unbalance him and ultimately get him back on the ground. all the while doing her best to ignore the nauseating pain in her neck and the way her own motions jostle his jaws about.

Their bodies collide with all the heat and power of two warriors desperate for blood. Chaos ensuing as he could feel the skin continually tear and the muscles within fight to stay afloat. Moderate puncture wounds that would not let up, as blood trickle down to his paw. It took a large portion of strength to simply keep his left leg stationed upon the ground, for any movement to it would surely render it even further. Instead, he chose to keep his grip upon her neck and as she weaseled with his leg, he attempted to shake his head left to right on repeat. @Saga's body pushed into his as he attempted to brace himself as best he could with his free three legs so that he wouldn't topple over. The end was near and he wanted -- no, he needed the victory. Not for anyone but himself.
