@Diantha @Ashelia .
recently, it has come to diantha's attention that they have a den that's only for food. she's still not able to chew on the meat, but she cannot deny the aroma of fresh kills. every so often, diantha goes to this food den and spies on the meat that's piled high in there. she drools thinking about slurping up a bloody steak and, at one time, almost took out zebra meat before momma found her. she tells her to not touch the food until she's ready, so after that, diantha just hangs around the area waiting for her milk teeth to become real teeth. but after a week of waiting, diantha starts getting antsy. she turns a corner to look at the food den again and sees the same older cub she met earlier with a leg in his hold. you baby, you can't touch that diantha says, pointing out that @Angan has milk teeth like her. then, she looks around to see if any adults are there. if you take then you share wi' me! so it's allowable if angan touches the meat, as long as the princess can have some too. |
Settling back into the oasis was deceptively easy. The sands called to her and andal had been her home -- moreso now, with both her cousin and guard at her side. Mirzas absence was duly noted, but she was not terribly missed. There were others she missed more than her wayward sister, but it would not do to dwell on what she had lost. Instead, she looks forward as best she can -- attempting to keep her head held high even as she wakes for the day.
Alone, as always.
As she's always been.
She, too, has come to sneak a small portion for breakfast before busying herself with the day. It seems others have had the same idea -- for two children are already here. Ears tick forward as she approaches quietly, listening to the younger one squeak and squawk. A part of her immediately thinks she should pass this one over and head to the next cache, but how annoying can two kids really be? Is there room for one more? She asks softly, looking between the two of them. @Diantha seems too young to be away from her den for long, while @Angan at least seems to be a teenager. Still young of course but not a literal infant. A small smile flits across golden muzzle, allowing the children to take the reins.
@Angan calls her name, but diantha doesn't remember his. it's a tough name to remember so she only holds up a paw and tries her best to wave at him. like momma said she should do when someone else says her name. she's being nice and being nice means no bad adults. an adult is here too, wanting to crash their party. the food cache is big, but diantha isn't sure if she ought to let @Ashelia join. what if she steals the meat so she can get fat? 'kay but you can only take a lil' bit 'cause you an adult diantha says, speaking as if she knows what she's doing. 'm keeping you from being a fat adult. fat adults get kicked out! she grins, looking more fox-like than a lion cub. she then looked to her pink companion, and insists dat ours, no touch. |
there is room for everyone! the older of the two decrees, sounding warm and confident both. it's an easy enough thing for a smile to flutter across her features, dipping her skull lightly to @Angan -- a quiet thanks. the other one, the younger girl, seems less sure of allowing ashelia entrance to whatever little hangout they've got going on -- lest she become fat. a brow arched quietly to the girl ( was she not already? little did dia know, but that was certainly a compliment! ), but says nothing. i appreciate your concern, she says instead, voice a droll little purr as she hums, seating herself just outside the cache. and thank you for letting me join, she says -- mostly to the boy-cub, though at least @Diantha had not chased her off. ears tip forward then, looking between the cache and the children, eyes quickly scanning over the juiciest bits. she's unsure if either of them can actually eat the stuff with their milk-teeth ( certainly not the little girl, but maybe the boy? who knows -- she is hardly an expert when it comes to child-rearing ), but they seem convinced so why not play along? if i were going to eat anything from this pile, she says, head tilting slightly, it would be... this one. she thinks for a moment before gesturing out to a particular section. a zebra haunch, the freshest kill and certainly the most tasty. you know, in case they wanted her grown up opinion.
