So it's come to this, it would seem. Lexa intends to hold true to her promise, and despite her typical nature to watch the show rather than engage in the chaos, she is not afraid of it. And since Cupid has asked it of her, the petite woman is more than willing to take up the challenge. One might consider it unfair to beat a wounded dog, but war is not always fair, and they seem to have found themselves within one. She had told @Madelina to hide, and descended from her perch to face the new Bluffs king herself, a glint in her eye.

"You have something I want, too," she quips boldly, fearless despite her considerably smaller size. Much as she had told Cupid, she is quite capable of using her teeth when she has to. Her tail whips with a sense of excitement, her narrowed gaze focused daringly upon the frenchman, goading him to engage with body language alone. Somehow, she doubts that he will be above the idea of fighting an opponent so much smaller than him.

This is another. Fodder at first sight, and she didn't have to walk by again. Vermier lumbered toward the call, his bleeding and matted fur a fright, dead set on vengeance and striking down all he could so that the remaining gazelle would flee. This one was a much more excellent prospect than the others. Whoever had sent her, had sent their weakest. His nostrils flared and he chuffed an abrupt, audible inhale as he approached, learning that she hailed from the Rainforest and yes, he did intend on knowing who was crossing him. He cared nothing for her motive so he cared not to speak. His ears were down into his mane and his ember eyes were narrowed.

Thinking that she would definitely be faster than him, Vermier approached at a leisurely trot, reluctant to commit to a charge that might easily be dodged and preferring to be light on his paws. His tail slung out behind him, balance kept. Nonetheless he attempted to slam his chest into her right shoulder since he did have the weight advantage and he liked to bully others by pushing them around OK? Jaws, smirking, attempted to bite as broadly across the back of her neck as he could, trying to gather her scruff into a grip.

All the chatter seems to have gone out of the new Bluffs king, and she imagines he is tired. He's faced quite an assault for one day, but she finds it difficult to feel any sense of sympathy for the beast. He had made his bed, labeled his enemies, and sought to imprison the inhabitants here if they did not grovel. She can see why Cupid dislikes him, but Lexa is more apt to form her own opinions -- granted, they are not very good ones at the moment.

All the same, her heart thrums eagerly for his approach, the scent of blood filling her nostrils. It's quite a macabre scene, really, and rather than being on the outside, she's now part of the fray. What would her sister say? Ah well, it's for a good cause regardless. He is wise to anticipate her speed and agility -- they are the only things that make her any sort of worthwhile opponent, after all. The burly male draws nearer, and Lexa side-steps to her left to counterbalance his shove into her, resulting in his chest glancing off her shoulder more than ramming into her. It's not enough to bully her over, but it will certainly leave a bruise. His teeth swing for her nape, latching into a solid amount of scruff on the upper right side of her neck; it's an easily accessible target, and there's little she can do to stop him. She counters, leaning her weight more heavily onto her haunches as her forelegs swing up, her claws attempting to gain purchase on either side of his neck just above his shoulders whilst her teeth try to sink into the inner curve of his arched neck above the breastbone.

The sounds of a fight drew the attention of the newly released ghostling. Kito didn't have a clue what drew her to the fight, but the sounds were unmistakable. What she found atop the arid mountaintop was the sight of a rather petite female fighting a male twice her size. Whatever they were fighting for, it was admirable to see a woman stand up against someone so much larger than herself. The mirage would move to find an inconspicuous spot to perch, where her less-than-whole image would likely go unnoticed. Having been so long since she last partook in a fight herself, Kito was more than enthralled to watch the debacle unfold. All the while, the ashen woman continued to drum up scenarios that might have instigated this need for a brawl while she found no familiarity in either combatant. It left the woman to also wonder if she had any connection to these lands, and thus furthered her confusion as to why she was here at all.

He felt his chest twinge as it bumped into her. Little new bruising but oh, she reminded him of the other fights against other opponents that had left a mark. It was a glancing blow with the result of leading her to sink onto her haunches. His fangs hooked into the side of her neck, though, and despite this advantage she threw her forepaws up to scrape around the back of his neck just ahead of his shoulders. Small wounds, mixed with the short sections of his mane, a crusty pain to heal. He snarled and aimed to push into her via his chest again, trying to wield his weight forward and toward his own right to try to shove her sideways. With his right paw he tried to strike out long and low, trying to slice into the abdomen of the smaller female. Her fangs take a shallow grip in the lower curve of his neck, just above his breast, more fur than skin captured, and he attempted to shake her scruff with his jaws to try to jar her.

Madelina woke with a start in her cubby hole in the Bluffs; a secret place that no one had yet found her. A place where she was shivering uncontrollable and her stomach had emptied out all of its contents not very far from where she cowered. Her stomach, of course, talked egregiously about the lack of sustenance that was now in her body. She wasn't sure what woke her so abruptly but it only made her shiver and fold even more so unto herself. Worry and fear on her face as she waited like she was told until someone called for her. Lexa and Cupid had been very clear and she didn't want to mess it up because it seemed very important that she do as she was told.

They aren't in the most opportune of positions -- at least, not for a slight woman like Lexa. Still, she is stubborn and determined, and has no intention of leaving Madelina in the care of this man. He pushes back into her, altering the female's state of balance, but rather than stagger backwards and try to catch herself, she allows it to happen. Lexa attempts to use her current grip on his neck to her advantage, swinging her haunches upwards and in, in an effort to try and kick the claws of her hind paws into his chest. Ultimately, she is trying to use her full weight as a fulcrum against his neck to weigh him down -- even pull him down, if she can.

The claws of his right forepaw catch in the thinner flesh at the end of her ribcage, partway between her belly and her left side. She attempts to deepen the grip of her teeth in his neck, all but holding on for dear life even as he viciously shakes his hold upon her scruff, deepening and widening the already substantial wounds there. With any luck, his movements will also cause more damage to his own flesh if she manages to maintain her grip.

He felt the female react to his shove in an unanticipated but not completely novel way. She curled up and he felt her hind legs kick against the underside of his chest, knocking moderate bruising into their areas of impact. His right paw had only caught in the skin behind her ribcage but given her new position, he now tried to lean onto his right limb with its claws still splayed, trying to crush the smaller female like a bug. His shake to her scruff had been quite satisfying but the motion combined with the pull from her jaws served to violently tear free the chunk of mane-and-skin that she had gripped onto and he roared, more surprised with the sudden freedom than anything else. That was a pretty good chunk of mane and it upset his vanity... along with removing some of his precious skin. He was already a storm of pain. He tucked his head further, protecting his throat, trying to bite further up along her scruff to try to slash through more flesh. His eyes were narrowed and ears pressed back as usual, and his tail jet out in a testy manner.

Hm, well this was interesting. Kito watched with her attention focusing more and more on the smaller female. She'd watch as the slight woman aimed her hind legs up into the male's chest. That was one way to make up for one's side. Brute strength alone wasn't always enough to win a battle. One had to be smart and tactful as well. She wasn't sure how long this fight had already been going on, but from where the ghostly figure was seating, it looked like things might be coming to an end soon. She couldn't wait to see who won, and to figure out what they were fighting over in the first place.

Lexa all but hangs on for dear life -- an incredibly annoying gnat, buzzing at him incessantly. Her hind legs make contact, and she attempts to dig in with her claws and simultaneously push forcefully against his chest. His claws dig further into her left side, causing her to snarl in discomfort, but she is not yet deterred. She is nothing if not stubborn. Her teeth rip free hair and skin, and she immediately tries to re-obtain a grip on the right underneath section of his neck, not far from the wound she has already caused. The curve of her neck and the more smooth upper portion of her nape make for a more difficult location for the larger lion to get as solid of a grip as he had before, and his fangs glide through taut flesh rather than grasping a grip this time, leaving stinging lacerations in their wake.
