Never before had Tripfire seen so much water, of course he had learned quickly that this water was not drinkable in the slightest. What a freakin waste. However it did hold most of his cub attention, and what further interested him was the little tide pools along the beach. Clambering over the rocks to explore each one until he found a rather large tide pool that held a few fish, he loomed over it perched on a rock with interest. He grinned mischievously, a perfect place to do a prank. Tripfire suddenly gave a few yells of alarm, ”help! The big fish got me!” he then jumped into the tide pool below making a few splashes to further aid to the alarm in this distress.

Would be rather a shame for the poor boy's prank if there was nobody around to witness it. But alas, poor Amra was around to hear his shrieks of distress and, recognising his cries from the short time they lived together before all heck broke loose in their old home, Amra came running. It wouldn't be the first time the young woman would have saved one of Ambrosine's children.
Unknowing that it was a prank, Amra barrelled over the sand, forcing her way through the deeper patches that threatened to slow her, until she reached the pool the boy had 'fallen' into. It took the hunter's mind only a moment to understand that the water wasn't nearly as deep as the ocean she'd thought it was. Still though, while she noticed he wasn't actually being attacked by any fish, which enhanced her suspicion, his terror at being unable to touch the bottom may indeed be limiting his ability to swim back to the edge of the pool. "Have no fear! Help is here!" The girl cried and, without a moment's hesitation, threw herself into the pool, paying little heed to where her body would land versus the position of the fiery child within. Although she did ensure if she did land atop him, that she wouldn't be a complete dead weight or any pokey bits of arms or legs to break something.

Had he thought his prank would succeed? Yes and no. Tripfire wasn't afraid of swimming and not touching the bottom but when a lioness came flying at him he looked alarmed. Oh no, he tried to swim to the bank but the splash she created beside him made him go under for a moment. He came up sputtering, ”YOU ALMOST DROWNED ME!” he yelled alarmed paddling his legs trying to get to the shoreline. She couldn't have ended his little life with that big arse! ”well... no fish now!” he chuckled with a little smile.

The kid wasn’t the only one that went under. Amra’s body and head vanished below the surface in a large wave of water that overwhelmed the cub as well. If he were drowning, he’d certainly be doubly drowning now. But the pair of them surfaced, the child sputtering his protestations about Amra’s larger body causing such a swell. ”Almost, but not quite,” she girl replied with a wink, treading water. She did cast an examining eye over the boy though, worried that even though she’d launched herself in without taking the matter seriously in case he had actually been drowning, that he might be in trouble. But he seemed alright, offering a smile and a comment about the lack of fish now.
Relieved, Amra made her way to the edge of the pool, following suit of the boy. ”Well I doubt they grew legs and jumped out, I could always throw you back in on top of one,” she offered, slipping into thought about whether that would be an effective, viable method of fishing. Would he be keen? She eyeballed him as she reached the shore, clambering out of the water to shake out her coat.

Tripfire was confused when he came up and she was gone, he looked at her shocked that she was being so ... cheeky? That was his job. Paddling over to the edge he pulled himself up looking at her with interest, a lioness he couldn't pull the wool over? Shaking off the water he licked his paw dry then his fur crackled with annoyance. ”Throw me and I'll bite you.” he warned seriously, only four lions could pick him up, mother, father, and his uncles. Though he preferred Vermier kept his teeth away from him. That guy was weird.

”... can fish grow legs?” he suddenly asked looking at her, was there ever such a case? ”I thought only frogs and toads had legs” he followed up without waiting long for an answer. Then he looked her over and let a sly grin slip on his lips, ” are you a fuzzy frog?” would this rile her?

Amra only laughed at his indignation at even the thought of being thrown back in. His tiny teeth would do sweet all to the girl, but Amra was not about pressing others against their will and so she dipped her head, conceding to his will in that aspect. "I promise I won't throw you back in," she added, to ensure he knew that she would do no such thing. After all, with how serious his expression was, she couldn't help but reassure him.
Still though, the conversation turned quickly to frogs, as conversations with children often did. Amra followed easily, having lost none of her cubbish thought processes despite slowly getting older. The boy's jibe at getting her to bite after calling her a fuzzy frog was met with a wink, before lowering her front half and opening her jaws wide like a crocodile before snapping them shut again with a sharp click noise. "I don't think frogs have teeth like mine, but you look kinda fishy after being in the water, maybe your legs will shrink and fall off," she offered back, a toothy grin creasing her muzzle. It was similar to when she and Ambro had needled Rythian, but Amra was careful to try to not go too far, she wasn't sure how much a young boy could take compared to a grumpy butt adult male.

”Oh that's good” he huffeed sarcastically, so considerate! Then she decided to insinuate that he, the wonderful red child was a fish?! Eyes narrowed at her ”If I am anything, I am a big crocodile!” he said stubbornly attempting to try and snap his little jaws in Amra's direction but not intending to hit. ”and crocodiles eat frogs!” he followed up with a sneer, he would eat her yeah! Suddenly he flew at her attempting to wrap himself around her front left leg trying to softly chew on it.

Amra huffed a short laugh at the cub's sarcastic response to her promise. Clearly he didn't put much stock in promises if he dismissed hers so easily. Hopefully he never came across an instance where someone broke one to him. But the conversation flowed smoothly to Amra claiming that the boy was a fish. Her jaws snapped together with a sharp click, her grin remaining upon her face and laughed as the boy snapped his own jaws together in reply to her own, claiming instead that he's a crocodile. Eyes sparkled with amusement as he claimed crocodiles ate frogs and, while she wasn't sure that was true, threw himself at her. She wasn't terribly worried about the damage he could do to her, he didn't appear to be viciously attacking her with intent. "I have been attacked!" She cried, falling to her side with a firey red cub chewing on her leg, slobbering all over the show on her already damp fur. "I am hurt!" She yelped further, wiggling her leg in a pathetic attempt to dislodge the boy, lifting her other leg to attempt to gently push him off. Grin remaine upon her face, struggling to withhold the laugh that threatened to burst forth from her chest.

Tasting tail fur he spat it out in frustration, he needed to grow bigger fast this was getting annoying! But then his rear leg shot up and Tripfire could only widen his eyes in shock, he couldn't dodge this. Getting smashed in the face he rolled backwards with a grunt of pain. Laying in a heap on the ground he shook his head a bit and growled at Jak, ”gonna eat your foot!” he threatened feeling his nose throb in pain from the hit. But he was done, he couldn't get to Jak yet but he would remember the face. Turning with a growl of annoyance moving to go back home, stalking out of reach of Vermier who he was surprised to see watching him. Probbaly waiting for this disappointing result...
