Prompt: A giraffe calf has gotten separated from its tower and calls out for its mother to come find it.

HUNT STATS: Five years old, no trade bonuses, pride level 4.

It was... certainly unlike Soren to be first on the scene for a hunt. He'd always get a trophy for participation, sure, but to initiate it? Well, that was another matter altogether. Still, this was a prime opportunity to get something big and bulky into their food stores, and from what he knew - vague as it was, and mainly through talk from Gareth or Nymeria - of the political shifting in Amaryllis, it was best to keep everyone fed and healthy. Especially his little ones. And so he would linger on the outskirts of the clearing, eyes following the movement of the giraffe calf. Its cries would perhaps lure its mother back to it, but - more than likely - would only encourage more predators forward. And, if that didn't, Soren's low calls for attendance certainly would.

With some ease, the woman slips away from her little one's and promptly disregards the fact that she was pregnant in lieu of assisting her pride mates in getting some food. She knew that she could rely on them to get it for her but at the end of the day, she just didn't like sitting still and doing nothing. Talisa wasn't one to enjoy being doted upon when she could help them herself. So she came up boldly beside her brother-in-law @Soren and attempted to bump her left shoulder against his right. Eagerly expressing that she was glad he was here and with a face that clearly told him that despite her circumstances, she wasn't going to not participate and that he shouldn't bother requesting her to take it easy.

Four years, no trades, pride level four

It seemed like it had been a while since they hunted, or at least since she had hunted. So naturally, when the call went out she padded over to see what all the fuss was about. Ah, a baby long neck. This would certainly be easier than taking on one of the adults, but they had to be quick about it before one of them came to find it. She didn't enjoy the thought of trying to bring down something whose stomach was so far above her jump level.

She was a slight distance off from Soren and Talisa, but close enough that she could see them out of the corner of her eye. She wasn't sure how well they would do with just the three of them, so she hoped more would come. They'd have to try regardless.

4 years no bonuses, pride level 4

Tullia was quick to go for her pride's aid, as hunting often required many lions to take down. And even though she wasn't a hunter of trade, she could still help in a way, even if it was to wind the prey out. And as silent steps drove her to the place where she saw more of her kin, she took her time to evaluate what were they going to hunt today. A young Giraffe, without it's herd around. She nodded to @Soren Talisa and @Heloise. And low in her paws she was ready to start the hunt whenever the rest told so, or if anyone else was going to join in. Either way she didn't speak, just focusing on the animal they were about to hunt down.

as per usual, nymeria was thankful for the steadfast and constant ways that the pride upheld one another. even though she was far from being early to today's hunt, her arrival was met with a sea of familiar faces, all of which brought a grateful smile slipping across the edges of her features as she emerged from the shadows of the grove. the queen's chest rumbled in a soft sound of greeting as she moved instinctively towards @Soren's side, gaze unable to help but linger upon @Talisa's swollen form as she passed by. though she doubted that the young giraffe would cause them too much trouble, nymeria could not help but worry for her sister's safety, and that of her unborn cubs -- but, surely, with all of them present, today's hunt would be as easy as it was fruitful. and if more were to show? well, the druid would have even less to worry about.

Despite being pregnant the woman could not help but want to help; she needed to, infact. An effort to keep herself active and not slink away to the den where she knew she would stay all day if given the opportunity. It was better that she keep active for the sake of her own sanity (and probably Farrow's, if she were honest).

Throughout the hunt she made sure to keep a good distance from danger while herding it as best she could into the waiting mouths of those that weren't hindered by a swollen belly. With ample luck they succeeded in taking down the young giraffe. Talisa bowing her head in quiet silence all the while attempting to catch her own breath.

For she could not, in her right mind, ever give thanks for their kill to Maua. For the Deity would always provide despite the questionable decisions and moves that they made. Talisa still worshipped and still followed, even when she couldn't understand. So she waited for others to get what they needed before she attempted to drag it back to the cache. exit talisa.

together, like always, they succeeded. nymeria had little to worry about when it came to the abilities and strength of vermeda, for they seemed to flow seamlessly into one another, watching each other's backs without hesitation and pushing forward with unyielding resilience. the druid kept a close eye on her sister as they descended into the throws of the hunt, making sure that she was kept away from the heels of the kicking giraffe, until the poor beast laid across the earth -- another gift bestowed upon the group by maua themselves. she listened sweetly to talisa's prayer, nodding absently along with the devout words as her stomach gave a quick, though undeniable, rumble. oops.

she would only shift once the group began to disperse back into the cool shade of the canopy, wide eyes slipping quickly to her beau, as a small smile slipped along the edges of her lips. "dinner date?" she cooed softly into @Soren's ear, grabbing a chunk of the carcass before moving off in the direction of the water, whilst attempting to flicker her tail playfully against his chest in a sort of gentle prodding for him to follow suit. exit.

It was with blatant relief that he would regard his pride mates as they approached; attempting such a hunt alone would have been foolish, even if the target in question was only a baby. First came his sister-in-law, bathed in the glow of pregnancy, and he would regard her with a warm smile as he leant into her touch. He'd pick up on the expression that @Talisa wore, and - having already dealt with pregnant women recently - knew better than to question her. @Heloise came next, then another sister-in-law in the form of @Tullia. He'd nod to them both with a smile. Then his beloved, sweet @Nymeria, who would sidle up next to him and provide a reassuring presence. They came together smoothly - a collaborative effort - and between the five of them managed to bring the calf down. With a huff, the beast licked the blood away from his muzzle, remaining respectfully quiet during the prayer bestowed by their Heiress. Then, enticed by the offer of his High Sovereign and wife, Soren would beam. "Always." Picking up his own share of the kill, and nodding to anyone still left in the gathering, he would trot along at Nymeria's heels.
