So many mouths to feed so little time. Ah the orange faced lady was happily running about the Bluffs tracking the herds and doing things here and there. Her mind was busy which was a good thing as a bored Arjana was never a good thing for the pride and often lead her to getting herself in trouble. For the moment the rain had stopped and there was even a bit of sun out. It warmed her body and it felt amazing which was good for once she didn’t have a headache. So as she tracked some of the herds around the Bluffs she figured now while the weather was favorable would be a good time for a hunt. Letting out a few chuffs when called for any nearby pride mates who might be interested in helping bring something down together. Hunts were a good place to bond with each other after all.

Oh sure, a hunt sounded good. Ros was very steadily on the mend now; it'd been a few months since his injury and he'd been dealing with a lot less pain and far more energy than before. But that hadn't meant he'd let himself become lazy. Well fed, his coat was catching more of a sheen and his ribs were (for the first time in years) not immediately visible through his russet flanks.

But there isn't intrigue and danger in pride life, just interesting social situations and new scenarios to navigate. But such things were physically boring. So when a call rises for a hunt from a familiar voice he is up on his paws and trotting to investigate, emerging onto the mountainside. After a brief jog he bounds down several boulders to land near Arjana, flashing her a rogueish grin. "What's for dinner?" he quips.

5 years, No trade bonuses The lead medic wasn't the most sociable of creatures but when @Arjana called them it was very rare that Rue wouldn't answer her call. Admittedly the tiny lioness had a soft spot for the Gentry so even though hunting wasn't necessarily her forte she made it a point to join her any time she requested them to gather for a hunt. By the time that Rue arrived both Arjana and @Roseate were present to which she offered them both a curt nod before falling into position only a few paces from them. From there on Rue would wait quietly for Arjana's direction, hoping to be as helpful as she could manage despite her much smaller stature then the rest. +5 - Participate in a rolled hunt

With news of cubs on the way, it seemed Namara would have her hands more full than she thought. She had spent the past week or two now gathering what she can and of course, she wasn't the only medic in Wolfbron, for which she was grateful, but kids brought a lot of risks. In most cases, birth would be fine, but there was a multitude of problems that could occur for the kids or for the mother.

Food would also be a priority, especially as their best hunter was the one expecting. Soon she would not be able to aid in their hunts and that left but another task for her to dip her paws into. When the gentry called out, Namara would be quick to seek out the forming group to lend her aid. Only a few had gathered so far, but each was a familiar face. Roseate was the first to inquire about their hunt, so with a flick of her ear, the peachy medic looked to Arjana for her answer.

3 years, no bonus He still finds himself feeling very new to these pridelands, but slowly, Seneca is beginning to know the lions that he lives with. His nature is not the most social, and idle conversation bores him, but recognizes the need for it if he is to become anything important in this place. @Arjana's call attracts his attention, and he decides to join the hunting party this day, his paws carrying him quietly towards the source. There he comes across the familiar faces of @Roseate and @Namara, offering a dip of his skull in greeting and glancing towards the woman he doesn't know yet (@Rue), inclining his chin in silent acknowledgment. His gaze shifts to Arjana, awaiting her instruction.

It seems that Arjana has tracked down incredibly difficult prey for them to capture. One giraffe alone is a monstrosity, and two nearly impossible, especially with such a small group. It's disappointing to be hungering for a meal and end up watching it disappear, with them worn down from the exhaustion of effort all the same. He huffs in frustration, his cool glare watching their departing dinner with a slight curl of his lips. There is nothing left for them to do here, and he departs without a word. Perhaps he will be lucky enough to find something more manageable elsewhere. Exeunt Seneca

They had set their sights on two giraffe. The task at hand seemed like a stretch, even with Arjana's hunting skills, but there had been a decent amount of them to gather. Even if they couldn't secure both, surely they could fell one?

Well, so she thought, but perhaps she had gotten too cocky with their recent hunts. Large game was still unfamiliar to her after her time on the road and she had been a bit young to help in many hunts when she left her birth pride. The stupid long necks were faster than she would have expected and flailing hooves in her face didn't exactly make getting close easy.

They would go home hungry this time, though fortunately, food lingered in their caches. She supposed they couldn't win them all so she should just count her blessings that they weren't truly in need of a meal tonight. Seneca was the first to leave, gruff and clearly displeased, though she wasn't sure she had ever seen him pleased past plesantries.

With not much to add she'd give a brief smile to any who might look her way before looking to follow in the splotched man's path "Maybe next time."

A giraffe is crazy ambitious, even to the thrill-seeker that is Roseate. He knows he's dead weight in this hair-raising hunt. The bard is definitely afraid of those long striking hooves and misses several key opportunities to help the other bluffs lions drive the pair of patched creatures into more open terrain.

By the time they lose sight of the loping herbivores, he is deeply out of breath and beginning to feel a burn in his muscles. With a tut of his own disappointement, Roseate ducks his gaze apologetically and slinks off to find a shady spot to catch his breath.

Damn their prey got away. Perhaps she had gotten greedy. Giraffe would have been good food for the pride and they had take. Down elephants before. So she thought they had it in the bag, but alas two had just been too much to handle. Not just for the hunting party but for herself. Tired as watched the slip off into the landscape just out of their grasping claws and fangs. Perhaps if they had had more muscle or if Roseate hadn’t still been recovering they would have done better, but in the end she had lead the hunt the dinner escaping was on her. Looking back at everyone she was about to say something. About to apologize for having picked such a prey when everyone just left. “We‘ll get them next time. Thanks for coming to help.” She called out to those that where still in ear shot before turning to @Rue and smiling. Dipping her head to the small medic she too took her lead.
