OOC: Phone post, apologies for any typos

Hazarin’s slam against his brother was successful, which caused a bruise to blossom against his bone, the force of his shove heavy. A sense of pride beamed within his chest as he winded his brother, knowing that there was a possibility he could win this fight and prove himself. Not only to @Mithros, to Cassine, and to Amara, but also to himself — perhaps his capabilities were endless.

Hazarin was surprised to feel his claws dig into his brothers flesh, but he would not stop. His claws struck through skin, leaving puncture wounds. As the boy returned his paw to the ground, he was unable to stop his brothers head from clashing against his own. Mithros’ skull battered against Hazarin’s, close to his cheek, causing slight concussion which would blossom into a headache a little later.

The slight confusion meant that Hazarin was not as quick to process and react to what was happening, so Mithros’ right paw struck gold on Hazarin’s left leg, his claws splitting flesh and cause some moderate puncture wounds which would most likely scar during the healing process.

In a last ditch attempt, Hazarin attempted to push against his brother with all the force he could muster, hoping to simply push his brother off balance so Hazarin could pull away. Simultaneously, the boy would attempt to lunge for Mithros’ face, hoping to latch on to anything possible.

MITHROS HAS WON THE CHALLENGE FOR BARONY!

The boys fought relentlessly and with everything they had. Being still a young scrappers they didn't have much in the way of experience, at least Mithros sure didn't, but he was willing to fight to get back in. Too long he had spent months thinking that maybe he just wasn't meant to be with anyone and be just Mithros. Here, he felt as though this was his only way in to feel like a true member of the family.

So the stand heaving with a heavy breath as they fight drew to a close, Mithros raised his head with blood on his muzzle as he gazed to @Vermier and @Amara as though expecting their praise or some form of sign that he had done good. That he was the Dieudonne that they were expecting. Of course, eventually he'd set his sights on his brother and hope that there might be something there too, for him. While the normal thing might have been to say something to their opponent, Mithros simply gave a steeled expression but it held some fair fondness to the littermate. A certain face that said it without words; they had done well, fought hard together. He could feel comfort in that, but could @Hazarin?

Amara's trained eyes watched every strike and she knew that the fight wouldn't last long but it was hard to tell right away who would win. They both lacked the ability to end the fight quickly without becoming worn out from it but that would come with time. There was a moment when Mith took the upperpaw and then the fight ended. Amara looked between the brothers for a moment wondering how Haz would handle this. She had never been easy on him and even if he didn't know it, it was for a reason. She didn't want to see the same weakness that she saw in his father. She needed him to be strong and able to stand on his own. She nodded to Haz before looking to Mith. The rank is yours, use it well or Haz may just decide to steal it from you. She smirked at the pair as she gave permission for challenging to happen again for the rank. Let's go hunt. She was done here and unless they had something else, she was happy with things being settled. exit?

With an obvious energy that was swirling chaotically around him post-fight, Mithros could not quite keep his thoughts from buzzing anxiously. Looking to @Amara as she officially granted him the rank though he kept his brows furrowed, adrenaline rushing through his veins in an effort to continue to fight anything that so much as moved out of his control. Instead, he was requested to go hunt to which he was all too eager to do something else. Even if he was still a little hurt from what was probably supposed to be some light yearling-spar but had ended up a little more vicious than intended. It would be hard to tell if he was sorry for that but as he followed his "Guardian" out and away, it was a thought for another day. exit mithros.

The fight was over just as soon as it had begun. Pain etched its way through Hazarin's veins as he forces his brother off of him, ears pinned back against his skull as the yearling stands, sides heaving through lack of breath. It was true: both males had fought well, and hard, but it was @Amara's decision as to who would get the rank.

Tension flitters in the air momentarily as the Sovereign looks between the two brothers, her gaze finally settling on Mithros. He had won. For a moment, there was a whirlwind of emotions that ran through Hazarin. Pride, pain, disappointment, anger, hatred, annoyance, guilt -- it all resulted in confusion. Hazarin didn't know -- or rather, didn't understand -- what he had done to find himself at the bottom of the pile. Cassine was Heiress, Amara a Queen, and Mithros now Barony. Vermier a King. Where did that leave him?

"Yeah, let's hunt," He murmurs in agreement to Amara, before turning around and slipping away. The boy needed time to think.
