June Y13
Summer
With the last of the rainfall seeming to have swept across the peninsula, summer days await! The days are warm, though comfortable, and peeter off into more mild evenings while the humidity remains low. It is the perfect inbetween until things transition towards more sweltering temperatures, so best enjoy it while it is here.

With the collective efforts of everyone present it was clear that today they would be walking away victorious. Nadia had been optimistic that they would be able to capture both rhinoceros calves and her intuition hadn't been wrong. She was both invigorated and relieved; relieved because they would certainly provide a hefty cushion to their food cache with the colder months upon them now. She sent a reassuring smile in the direction of everyone, loving the feeling of after hunt satisfaction. It had been awhile since she had truly dove head first into a challenge like this and it was something she discovered she had been missing. Being a mother had been at the forefront of all of her responsibilities but she was glad to be doing something for the pride again. Settling on her haunches she waited for the others to take what they'd like before she would begin the task of dragging the calves back to the food cache.

Once again, the Hollow lions remained on top and vigilante in their hunts. With several of the adults showing up to assist it didn't take long for it to go down with a deep and monstrous thud. The last few weeks she had been slightly detached from most of her pride mates but allowed herself the energy to look over each of them. Continually pleased to see that Zoya was still a presence in the pride and that she hadn't vanished into thin air but more so pleased to see that Obsidian Hollow had come so far. When she had joined it had been her, Magnus and another (was it Nadia? She couldn't remember). Now, they were likely one of the largest and that didn't even include the four children that had been welcomed into the pride. Thus marked her small burst of pride as she took what she could and departed. exit zulema

He aided where he could, but other than that- he was no better than a ghost. He looked it, and he surely felt it too. Pertinent it was... In the way others moved past him, disregarded him for themselves. What would he even done had they anyway? Nothing... He was... Alone. In a sea full of faces he didn't know. In the bluntness of reality- did he even want to? His visage may have remained still, but his mind was ever churning with the constant mixing and unraveling of emotions going on in his skull. At the very least... There was food for his children. He would grab some for them, though he wouldn't be able to eat any of it himself. Simply didn't have the stomach to. He turned toward his hollow, hollow "home". -Exit Walthari- |

More and more converged on their location; the calves did not stand a chance, despite their bulk. As the hunters began to gather together and take their fill, the King scanned the faces to clock those that were present. Newer and older alike - it was reassuring. Attention settled momentarily on @Walthari; the man was a shadow of himself since losing his partner, and it filled Magnus with regret. He had searched for Sidonie until the scent had gone dry, and there was only so much he could do. Making a mental note to check in on the family soon, the High Sovereign would turn on his heel - own share lying limp between his jaws - and head back to the privacy of his quarters.
He had much to think about.
