The call that rang out was directly beside them, and not for the first time did Seraphiel wish the two prides were further apart. It had been reasonable when Oberon ruled, but now two strangers were sparring for it, and that could mean trouble for them.

The behemoth was slow to arrive on the scene, but quick to join Hecuba, Drakon and Arcania once he did. Jewel was there as well, and he would give the former sovereign a polite nod should she look his way. He took no joy in usurping her, but he would serve Hecuba and Drakon as faithfully as he ever had.

Judging by what the golden male was saying to Jewel, these two males were to be considered dangerous. So, Seraphiel turned his gaze to the battle to see what he could learn of their fighting styles. Should the time come where he found himself facing either of them, he wanted to be prepared.

Hadn't she just been to one of these? Teuta felt like she had. In fact, she thought she'd seen that very male there as well, she realized as she finally approached the fight, having been forced to walk the border to get there. This place was really tucked away, she thought. That could be a good thing... or a bad thing depending. No one could come and help you without difficulty, for one thing.

Seemed like no one was going to come help either of these lions, if the conversation around her was to be believed. That and it seemed the beat up looking lioness used to be a captain- 'scuse me, queen. Well, the more she went to these things they more interesting they were! Not that she thought her own captain would be all that interested in any of these petty squabbles, but it was still good information to have.

There was a great commotion down the coast. Walpurgis had been loathe to move too much from her former home and the tide pools where she had found trapped fish. Mostly the fish. A large, rugged warrior like herself needed to eat, and she suffered the slimy caloric intake and the smell. Regardless, she chanced to be nearby, and she heard a distant echo of a roar (which piqued her curiosity) and then a great stampede of commotion, scents awash, tracks crossing, which provoked her into a run.

Was the storm back? Were they going to fight the storm?

With blurred vision, courtesy of her rapidly whipping gaze, she saw nobody she recognized. She rushed toward the group, careening toward an empty spot away from the fighters. Instinctively, like salmon returning upstream, she formed part of the ring around the spotlight. Yet instinct did not bid her be quiet. She halted, panting. Her ragged pelt shook with her. "HEY. What's going on? Where da storm! Come fight da storm with me!" Perhaps the storm had been metaphorical. More likely, it was just hiding. Somewhere out along the coast. Somewhere over the water. In a hole somewhere. But it had cast her out once before and now that everyone was here, all bristling and fear, they had strength enough to fight it.

Drakon took note of Vasilis speaking and soon leaving after his own arrival. Ears twisting at his words before Hecuba and other's arrived to sit beside him and his wife. Fiery jewels glanced towards @Jewel, his attention on her for now. "I will keep him in mind." He would state, making sure that Jewel knew that things wouldn't change. That he would still be there to protect the Cove if it came down to it. For a brief moment, Drakon looked to the two men fighting and then back to Jewel when she spoke after @Hecuba. "Jewel is isn't your fault. But I understand your feeling. The Cove is and always will be your home. And I do want to keep you in my council." In a way, she'd still be ruling the Cove without the title.

Was that... yes, yes it was. It was a call for his former home, and it wasn't by Gwyn. He supposed he was asking too much to hope that the patriarch would come back. He had no idea where the older Casimir had gone, not to mention any of his kids. Come to think of it, he didn't even care who ruled the lagoon now that they weren't there anymore, and yet he found himself heading that way, coming upon a battle that was already underway.

He didn't recognize either of them, but as he stalked around the edge of the group he overheard a couple of them talking about some woman not being in charge anymore. He wasn't sure if that was interesting or not. It was probably information that one of the other Casimir would like to know.

For now, he was going to take a seat and watch the fight, and maybe he'd have even more information to bring back to... erm. No one, actually.

It was only then that he heard a mighty familiar voice, and sighed softly. Did he want to correct @Walpurgis? Well, she'd probably notice him sooner or later anyway.

"There's no storm," he called over to her. "Just some lions fighting for the right to rule this place." Again.

The diet of the brook left her in much more health than recently, her coat shiny once more and formerly curvaceous rump and chest were far more filled out than the illness had taken from her. It gave her enough strength to curiously leave the brook's borders, albeit anxiously awaiting her return immediately. There were new babies to protect and Maua guide her, because Aelynthi would stop at nothing to harm those with vile intentions.

Such loud, boisterous calls cannot go unnoticed, and while normally she wouldn't attend such...childish matters, she can vaguely scent the smell of another brook resident headed towards it, which only seals the deal to her. It takes longer than intended, but it's easy to spot the familiar face of @Heloise among the crowd. The colossal woman crosses her way over to the woman, good eye trying to remain ever peeled on the fighters in case they came lumbering in her direction like maniacs. Once she got a reasonable talking distance away, she gently sat down, head pivoting to look at the only face she trusted here. " Do you know what these two...lamanwa men bicker over?" Her gaze remains unblinking on Heloise for a moment, only then turning to look at the two who seemed so keen to tear at each other's throats.

Her vision started to clear but the mind behind it was no less blurry and well over the border into frantic. Last time she had been here... it had been so scary. She had run. She wanted to run again. The flight-or-fight instinct, however, had taken a random coin flip. Fight was what the world got from Whopper today. She was gonna take her fear and fight it.

She didn't get any immediate response, nothing but the emptiness that made her heart beat louder. She wanted snarls. Victory. Assurances. The only fight and snarls were from the two lions engaged fighting each other, not the storm. She understood that. When the need to fight came you had to fight everything and hope it was the right thing, because to not fight means you were beaten. Her claws clenched. Only one response. Thrown her way casually - but one did not casually engage Walpurgis, especially not when she was frightened. @Wodnik now possessed her full attention, the overwhelming brunt of it, all hundreds of pounds of her and shiny rolling eyes. She surged toward him, shying away from shadows as she did so. She remembered the storm. The darkness, the noise, the wind. Words were like wind. Hostile, low. They could threaten her.

"Wodnik! The storm! It's coming back!" she whine-wheezed at him, somehow unable to compress more force into her voice. Her windpipe seemed strangled. She crouched in place, trembling, limbs clenched as though to hold her immobile, shackled to the sand.

The sound of a claim resulted in more questions than answers. What happened to the last ruler? It was always something that sprung to the forefront of anyone's mind, understandably, whenever there was a simple new claim over a land and not an outright challenge against an existing monarch. Roan didn't know anything about Oberon to begin with, but being a leader in his own right now, it was important to keep privy to the changes of the land. Making his way towards the Lagoon, the Hodari realized he hadn't been over this way since he met with Durius when the man was still a monarch. So much had changed since then, even hearing that Gwyn had ruled the lands at one point. Well, now it someone else would be added to that list.

Finding himself wandering towards the Lagoon, Roan was quickly reminded why he'd never really felt the need to revisit the lands. Sand quickly stuck to his paws and long fur as he made his way towards the call. Figuring it must be early in the claim, he was surprised not to find a mass of spectators already. A few familiar faces dotted the outskirts, noting Jewel and Durius among others, but little did the Hodari know about recent changes in Caladan as well. Though he noted the scent of his own pridemate in the area, the masked lion opted to take a seat with his aunt, moving to sit on @Furia's left side. "Take up a sudden interest in challenges lately?" he commented casually before flopping down beside her. This was the second challenge in a short period of time that he had seen her at, though at least this time, she wasn't accompanied by Aquila.... yet.

Already, someone was stepping up against the claimant while Roan took note of the pair. One was the male had had attacked the red woman during the Wolfbron Bluffs challenge. Maybe that infighting was simply foreshadowing of what was to come. Apparently this guy wanted a crown of his own. Roan would be interested to see what the Bluffs lions thought of this claim, assuming others would show eventually.

Breaking heavily she shook with rage to learn that Oberon was no longer there. How could she have been so blind? Where had he gone? Had he abandoned her? Abandoned Aarani? She didn’t see the lioness but had seen her not long ago recruiting at the passage. Did she, did they just up and leave? Like a fart in the wind did they just sneak out and leave? Her heart ached and she felt dizzy. Looking around she spotted @Drakon and moved closer to him just as in time to hear him speak. Hearing him ask who that man claiming was. Moving closer and sitting she spoke to him in a shaky yet calm fashion. “That man is the unranked male I told you of.” Taking a deep breath she had to calm herself down. “The one with the red mane and the slash on his face. Turrek.” She settled herself looking at the Cove members before looking to watch the fight. “Claw his eyes out Dieudonne!” She suddenly called out cheering for the lion she had recently met who she thought was named Dieudonne as that is wha he said. Or so that was how she had taken what he had said at the hunt in the pit.

She than turned her gaze to look at @Maude. Her heartache now strong in her eyes as she blinked away tears she was trying to hold back. “Arjana, Oberon is, was someone I cared deeply for. I love him and he just left? Didn’t come see me just. Just left?” Her words were shaky as she tried so hard not to cry but was very much failing.

The sanguine blood of life pumped both in his veins, and screamed through his ears. Much like he had been with the fight with Arjana in the bluffs, where Zoticus and Circe barked orders... Blood pounded and made the world turn to nothing but the drumbeat of war. The jaws that would clasp along his right jaw pinched and tore, shredding flesh in their wake. He would attempt to lower his head - knowing full well that it would tear the injuries further.

The caramel demon would attempt to place his left paw back on the ground, attempting to firm the connection with the sands below. The beast would attempt to spread his jowls, attempting to sink his fangs into his opponents RIGHT leg, trying to gain a grip on the appendage. Vermiers claws bit into the soft skin of his right front paw, and he would snarl, the sound ripping from deep within his breast. Korrin wouldn't move that paw - for it would affect his balance. A Small price to pay for a much larger payout in his mind.
