It sure looked like she was going to be the bearer of bad news and she could see the gears turning on the red woman's face as she explained Oberon's disappearance. In some ways, she sympathized with the woman who had now lost someone she cared for but Maude was a bitter woman. She'd had too many men leave her to care for their idiotic actions. Too many times when they had had opportunities and skirted them like a sickness. I wish it were better news, and while she might not have felt that for herself explicitly, it was easily described as genuine the way it came out. The wheat woman wished that she could launch into a men suck rant but knew that now was not the time and @Arjana was going to need time to process her current emotions.

As it were, the fight quickly shifted as one blow led to another. One paw striking the other as claws and teeth struggled their way to make grips. Until one came out on top and Maude took a deep inhale; a victor emerged. The brown beast proclaiming his delight through thunderous shouts and roars, resonating within her breast as she watched him call for another and retreat within his Lagoon. Perhaps another time she would go chasing but for now, she was going to ruminate on her decision for moving forward. So she lowered her head somewhat apologetically towards the red woman should she still be present before wandering away from the Lagoon. At least until she knew what she wanted to do. exit maude

Hm, well at least this time there didn't seem to be any random scuffles along the sidelines as the two men simply fought it out for the Lagoon. Seeing as how the only knowledge he had of either lion was that Korrin had been attacking a woman during the challenge against the Bluffs, Roan found himself slightly rooting for the opposition. In the end, it would seem just that would happen. Between the French accent, Roan really only seemed to recognize the name Dieudonne. It was a mixed feeling to hear the name, vaguely recalling something Copree had once said about the family, though it was many years ago that she spoke of. On the other paw, Ambrosine had been ally to the Jungle at one point. On which side of the fence would this Dieudonne sit? Roan didn't know enough about the family to warrant an opinion just yet. All he knew was that bastard from the Bluff's challenge hadn't taken a crown, and that was fine for now. "Hm, well... Another king rises," he commented blandly towards his aunt before getting to his feet already. "Guess it's time to leave." And with that, Roan would depart, taking with him the knowledge of a new leader.

Avaneira could agree that both these competitors unsettled her, but there was a far more keen danger in being a rogue amidst a sea of pride lions; and Ava was too green to the new politics of Amaryllis to know whether or not it would be safe. She remembered the way in which she'd been pursued after the Mire challenge, and thus as soon as @Morrigan turned to leave, so did her sister, abandoning the Lagoon in hopes of returning back to a place she'd feel more welcome. She gave one last lingering glance toward the battlefield, before slipping away into the underbrush.

Zulema happened to lift her lip a little in a quiet sneer at the lead warrior's remark, knowing that she was a great gatherer of information. She may not be a great warrior but she had decent defenses and could get out of a tight situation if she needed to. Zulema did not quite recognize the Dieudonne name from anywhere except for as Morrigan spoke it. Just as Avaneira didn't seem to find familiarity in its syllables either. I think it is best we be on our toes from here on out. I can't say with any good feeling that either of these challengers are going to be on our side. As nice a thought as it might be, she couldn't shake the feeling that these brutes were not allies and would easily make for an enemy if they weren't careful. Although not entirely confident that either combatants would be a solid choice, Hecuba wondered which was the lesser of two evils. She barely knew either, let alone their laws -- but if she was correct, the one was a Dieudonne. Hecuba seemed to vaguely recall him skulking around Ambrosine every so often, but the woman herself was strangely absent. She worried for her, truthfully, and hoped to see her return with a vengeance. Ever since Manes had lost the challenge for Wolfbron, she wondered how he was fairing mentally.. and without Ambrosine by his side, was he truly lost? Hecuba stood and departed swiftly, disappearing back to her own slice of the shore. exit

Hazarin watches with baited breath as his Uncle battles a stranger for a steak to a home. The harsh salt in the air was not particularly attractive to the young male, but he would be grateful for what his family would provide, should Vermier be successful. And after what felt like an eternity, it was. There was a feeling of dull pride that begins to brew in his stomach as his Uncle comes out bloodied from his fight with Korrin.

He looks around briefly to see who was still present after the fight had finished, and was surprised to see very little. He remains with his Uncle, though, for the time being. I'll serve under you. Congratulations. Hazarin remarks, and once the formality of it all was done, the young Dieudonné departed to explore his new home.
