She'd been paranoid since they'd gotten Kvare back to her den in the falls. Most nights she laid awake, worried that he'd succumb to his injuries and she'd wake up to him dead alongside her. She'd been busily patching up his wounds, keeping the dressings fresh so that his wounds wouldn't get infected. She would occasionally leave the den to get them some food and to gather more herbs. Thankfully, being in the den they were she was able to get water for him pretty easily.

Glancing back at his sleeping form, she would hesitantly leave the den. She needed to go gather some more herbs to replenish her stores that had gone low treating his wounds from the fight - even as hard as it was to leave him for any length of time. Taking her time to cover her tracks as she left the den, Zabrina would make her way to the base of the falls to start nosing around the plants down there to find some more herbs.

In the days following the horrors that had gone down in the Pit, Genesis lived in somewhat of a daze. Somewhere between shocked, guilty, sympathetic, and downright scarred. In all her time here in Amaryllis, she had seen plenty: war, challenges against crowns, even death. Such was her fate as a mender by trade. But Miaran's death--that had been something different entirely. The way her body had been disfigured and distributed among the crowd was unlike anything she had ever seen or anticipated to see. Mad woman or not, there was nothing sound about Miaran's downfall or the way the crowd had celebrated and shared in the spoils.

Even the vaguely familiar silhouette poised at the base of the falls was enough to render her dizzy and tempt her to turn around.

But she did not. She had not been close enough to them at the Pit to know any details, but she had seen enough to recognize this lion as someone who was close to the victor. His mate, perhaps, if not close enough to one. Which likely meant that she had been just as shaken by the whole event and deserving of sensitivity. So, after some thought, Genesis decided to approach, allowing her currently meek conscience to show in her face and posture if it meant she looked like less of a threat. If she looked like a threat to this lioness at all.

"Hello," she extended, neutrally and with a flash of a smile. It was then that she noticed her snuffling through the foliage taking advantage of the falls' moisture. "Is there...anything I can help you find?" She cleared her throat. "Perhaps something for flesh wounds?" @Zabrina

Her coat was recognizable in a crowd by simply its uniqueness. The split lilac and bronze hues of her coat stood out easily. But she'd thought she was alone here in the Falls, and had allowed herself to tune out her senses in order to focus more on the task at paw. And because of tuning out her senses, she hadn't heard the approach of another to her.

Flipping her head around defensively, instinctively, Zabrina briefly lifted a lip in warning before spotting the posture of the more petite lioness. She was not as shaken by the whole event as one might've thought her to be - considering she'd nearly been murdered by her littermate - but she was more concerned over keeping Kvare's presence here hidden from the general public. "Sorry - a bit on edge..." Zabrina said, shaking her coat out as she apologized for her defensive nature.

"I'm on the hunt for more marigold specifically. And some lavender, as well as buchu." She said, naming off the specific herbs she was on the hunt for. "I've... been going through a lot of it lately." She didn't specify why, not realizing that the petite pale lioness had been at the fight where her husband nearly lost his life.

If the flash of the other woman's teeth had heightened her apprehension (it did), Genesis did her best not to let it show. They both had a right to be tense, after all--the stranger far more than herself; so much so, she was confident the gesture was not personal. In fact, her hunch was confirmed by the other's apology, which she brushed off with a slightly widened smile as she forced her own posture to loosen.

Marigold. Lavender. Buchu. That last one was new to her. Genesis looked around with a thoughtful hum that was likely inaudible over the falls' white noise. She recognized the others among the abundant foliage and decided she would not burden the striped lioness with questions. Instead, she would pick what she knew and observe whatever else her company chose to collect--by deduction, buchu. And so she approached a marigold plant and began to pick away at its brighter blooms.

"I was there, you know," she finally confessed, avoiding eye contact as she worked. Perhaps that was what needed to be said to erase the tension. Maybe it would help for the stranger to know they had both seen the same fight. The same...disturbing massacre, though she would not dare touch on that part, not as long as she knew this woman was on the side of the victor. "He saved someone close to me. Well, close to someone else who's close to me. Either way...I'm grateful we don't have to worry about her anymore."

She paused a moment, peeking at the stranger from the corner of her gaze, trying in vain to resist the question she so desperately wanted to ask. "How is he?"
