She muttered as she rushed when she heard her unmistakable roar, scared of what she was getting herself into she rushed to the Pit where the call was issued from, eyes filled with deep worry. She had ordered her children to stay home as this might could be a bad place for them and if there were other who wanted to target her she would rather it be her and not her children then ones on the line of fire.

She was calling for a child of Alex, and she was afraid that might put a huge target spot to her own cubs barely just born. And even her own.

She stood there watching with deep worry as the fight unfolded. Off course rooting for Miaran. Kvare, a man she used to have a deep respect for, yet now she didnt know if she could do so again. Yte what Miaran was doing was reckless, and she wished she could stop her but it was too late...she wasnt into harming others families even if hatred was the cause...

"No..." She muttered.

Others hastily arrive, and he can hear the muffled voices of Alexander and his allies. And his son. Truly, alive and well. No longer just another rumor. Even the faint scent of Levana haunts the distance.

But they all become a distinct blur as his gaze refocuses on his enemy. For a woman who claims she cares so little for the crown, she holds a rather focused grudge, and even Kvare cannot help but fear that if her spitefulness borders on obsession.

Unreasonable, unhinged, unraveling.

A rabid animal to be put down by his hand.

So on the edge of her own mortality that her strength is near inhuman. The entirety of Kvare's weight does nothing but brace against the plain of her chest and elicits no more than a cough. Frustration sparks in his eyes, but it does nothing to stifle his conviction. He would not have carried the burden of the Tollaire's legacy for so long if he did not die fighting for it, or tear victory from the teeth of death one last time.

He feels the prickling pressure of her teeth digging into the thin flesh of his muzzle, while narrowly jerking his head just enough to spare the worst of the damage she seeks on his face, leaving him with shallow cuts that run from his eyebrow to his jawline. Her attack on his leg, however, is far more successful, leaving deep and long gashes that steals his breath.

With his muzzle firmly held between her teeth, Kvare seeks to wrench his head up and outward with a harsh, precise momentum. As his head attempts to pull away, his free foreleg rises, attempting to push against her chest with unsheathed claws, aiming to put some distance between them.

The call for death rings loud and clear throughout the lands of Amaryllis. The call sounded similarly to the cry of a banshee, and Zephirin couldn’t help but pin his ears against his head.

It was then he noticed that his Patriarch and King had left the Cove, and quickly the Tollaire got to his paws and followed. It seemed that their travels would take them inland, towards the heart of the island.

He stopped at the edge of the hollowed pit, watching as lions descended down the rocks. There she was then, the crying banshee herself, locked in battle with a warrior. Zephirin took in a deep breath and finally began to navigate his way downwards.

His mismatched eyes fell upon a younger, pale lion. His attention captivated by the bird on the boy’s back. He approached in a calm manner, and took a seat beside the lilac lion. “Do you know them?” he finally asked, referring to the two trying to kill each other.

it was hardly the quiet voice that louve had advised -- nor had she been given any space to try to help. instead miaran called for the head of... well, louve wasn't entirely sure when she first stepped from the bluffs, but did it really matter?

of course it does not surprise her to find the target is an obsidian lion when she arrives, moving instinctively towards @Alexander ♔. their families had long set aside their differences (though certainly many would call louve too forgiving, and surely her late husband rolled in his grave because of it) and she no longer cared what they thought of her friendship with the patriarch.

"she told me z'e 'ollows stole 'er sister -- ees z'at z'e reason for z'is?" or was there more that louve needed to know; more that had happened in the vast scramble of amaryllis politics.

there is a tension in the air that she is not oblivious to, and she feels the unexpected need to add -- "'e will win, alex," in an even lower pitch meant only for him. meanwhile she studies those that have come, her gaze resting briefly on the young calandan king, curious to see where most of them stand. realizing, with a sickening twist in her stomach, that miaran had amassed far too many enemies in her short time here.

the call had intrigued her enough that she had already set out towards the pit, regardless, but spotting his form ahead of her had only increased her interest. if drauhir was going then she most definitely was, even if the death of war was far less appealing to her than the less messy one of herbs and plants.

as usual she wore many in her fur, poisonous herbs tucked in to the flush tufts around her neck and on her legs, easily disguised as pretty flowers to those that did not know better. dalila, with her delicate form and wistful smile, would hardly seem a threat to the drum-beating bloodhounds of amaryllis.

she seems to arrive unnoticed, moving on quiet paws to his side, drawn to touch a reassuring nose to his shoulder. a silent reminder that she was there for him, hoping he might find some iota of comfort in that fact.

It was the call for death on the wind that drew the X'uekai shade from his den.. Slowly, Thruum would lift his hefty bulk from the nest upon which he had lain and stretched before he made his way out of the Brook. The path was - or rather perhaps at one time been treacherous, but since his return, the lion had spent his time mentally mapping the lands. He followed scents, the whispers of the wind.. the way the fur and pressure of his whiskers changed when objects got too close.

Nearing the pit, he scented the myriad of others present and paused, jaws parting as he inhaled - letting the scents sort themselves across his tongue. Tail would twitch as he listened to the snarls of the fight below - scented the copper tinge of blood and it had his lips peeling into a macabre smile of bloodthirst.

The beast of night would settle himself upon a rock, 'observing' the fight for those without knowledge that he was in fact seeing nothing. But his ears were attuned, listening to the thump of body to body, the breathing changes.. the panting and snarls.. it all painted a picture within his mind.

He heard the call and looked up from where he had been tending his garden with an amused smile. The wheaten male hummed before he took the time to cover himself in a scent of the neutral lands - not wishing to be tied to any pride in particular while this was happening. This wasn't an opportunity to wet his talons... nay - it was an opportunity to gather information that might someday be useful.

Darhke would take his time, then approach the pit from downwind. It was here that he would slink into the gathering, finding a suitable space and settle in on his belly, still and silent as a stone, his hide covered in a fine layer of grey and brown dirt - his hope to blend into the rocks he used to hide in - the foliage disguising the silhouette of his mane. Perhaps he could put his ears to the test and listen to the conversations surrounding the two fighting felines... figure out what this was all about.

What was this? The hound of war would smile, his lips spreading as he paused in his patrol of the icy summit borders. The pale wraith took a few minutes to listen, letting the frigid winds blow the news of the clarion call - the summons for death to his ears. He waited until he heard the distant ringing of war and began his trek down the side of the mountain.

The lion took his time as he moved, pacing with a slow, steady pace of one called by the drums of war. Except in this war, he wouldn't be fighting unless he was called upon. The beast would slink into the scene like a ghost - his silver eyes taking on those in attendance, noting the lions that had gathered. His gaze turning towards the pair in the center of the ring already in the process of tearing into one another.

He found a spot off to the side and settled himself in, watching and observing. his eyes locked on the fight below, but his ears were working overtime to listen and absorb any information that he could like a sponge.

She moved with a serpentine grace, following the paths of many others that were making their way towards the Pit - to listen to the sounds of battle and witness the death of another. Solri hummed in interest as she looked towards the gathering of lions - her gaze scrutinizing each and every one that sat amongst the rocks and flora of the pit.

Her star speckled pelt shone with the care she took to ensure its velveteen plush look as she tucked her haunches under her, tail coiling neatly around her paws. She would watch and observe... learn what she could. Who knows? Perhaps what she learned would come in handy someday.

manon slips into the pit only a few meters behind her dear maman. though her interest had been piqued by the vaguely familiar voice - they had met twice, but that had been quite some time ago - calling for the most tantalizing of prizes. death.

though the person being summoned is unfamiliar to her, the person doing the summoning is an ally. or at least, was an ally. watching the woman fight next to the mire king - requesting his help, even - had left a sour taste in manon's mouth. a bitter taste she is sure is shared by louve. the man her mother approaches is not entirely unfamiliar, seen around enough to spark recognition, though she knows not of his name. "oo ees 'er seester?" manon questions, brows furrowed. the woman had never brought a sister to wolfbron's borders for an introduction as far as she could remember. "j'ai toujours pensé qu'elle était solitaire." i always thought she was solitary. at least, outside of the pride members that she had recruited during her stay in caladan. "sais-tu qui elle est? à quoi elle ressemble?" do you know who she is? what she looks like? there are too many words to think of in the common tongue, so manon slips back into their mother tongue easily. louve would translate to the man if she felt the need to do so. identifying this sister would surely come in handy, should they ever need something to hold over the woman's head in the future.

but she supposes it is the man's words - the accusations flung - that are most concerning of all. at least until miaran opens her mouth in rebuttal. as miaran sinks into the fight, letting out a soft cough as the larger man slams into her, manon's red eyes turn to @Louve ♔ with a silent question. "eef she hunted down zhis boy's children, zhere would be no safety for 'er een amaryllis." no, the people of this valley did not take kindly to such things. culling the weak was done in private, where fewer eyes were watching. promising cold blooded murder of children though? and in front of a crowd, at that? manon presses no further on the matter for now, but perhaps she would breach the topic of their alliance with the woman when they were home, and not surrounded by so many eyes and ears._{BG — ART — CODE}
