Each pawstep toward his new home breeds more excitement in the beast. His colossal form follows dutifully behind his cousin until they reach the darkened confines of the caverns in which their family resides. It's closer to the passage than Ambrus would have expected - a short distance to greet new arrivals. The prospect both pleases and unsettles him. They had no way of knowing who might come snooping their way. Surely his uncle had thought of such things however.

Nostrils flare as he inhales the collective scent of the Savante, and some non-kin as well. So they weren't strictly a family pride. Valens hadn't touched on that, but it wasn't an uncommon practice. Icy blues roam the shadowy walls that surround him, his hackles slightly raised at first from the feeling of being enclosed in a space. They'd slowly lower however as he reminded himself that this was home now. There were no threats around the corner that he should be expecting.

It didn't keep the man from squinting his eyes in an effort to have them adjust quicker however. It was dim, something he'd have to acclimate to.

Before settling in and getting a feel of the place however, the first order of business would be to meet everyone he could. The only way Ambrus could think to do that would be to summon the hoard to him. So he'd find a larger cavern and settle there with his back to a wall before letting his voice rise to summon them from their burrows. He'd settle this way just in case any decided to attack the seemingly random stranger calling for them within their home. He'd been invited here, but that didn't always come across straight away.

Then, Ambrus never was one to ease into things. His family would find out soon enough just who he was and that he'd never be a threat to them.

A roar woke her from a much needed nap. Oh how she despised that. Not because her nap had been interrupted, but because this voice was that of a stranger. With a not so graceful leap, it brought the girl to giant paws, shaking out her fluffy fur. How dare he call for them like that in their home? Who was he to try and summon them?

If only she knew. But she didn't think. In a flurry of blood red and creamy white, the fluffy girl stormed from where she'd been napping, through the tunnels. Pointed ears quivered against her skull as she did her best to follow that sound. There! Not just the lingering echo of the roar but a scent she didn't know. There was little hesitation as she followed it now.

Eventually she reached the cavern he'd chosen and her icy gaze fell on @Ambrus. Giant paws firmly planted against the ground, fluffy tail lashing behind her. Pointed ears laced against her skull so tightly they nearly disappeared in what was undoubtedly baby fluff. Her gaze narrowed and dark lips peeled from elongated fangs in a deep growl. Okay, maybe not all that threatening just yet, but she was definitely working on her big girl growl.

And it was a good thing the burly soldier did protect his back. His rounded ears would perk at the sound of cub-paws trampling through the halls. A low chuckle drifted past inky lips as a scarlet hued girl emerged from the shadows of the cavern mouth. She gave a fearsome growl, fluffed up like a rather pissed off house cat.

“Why hello, little one. Do you have a name behind that ferocious growl of yours?” a smirk lined his maw as pale blues narrowed on her expectantly. It was a bit disheartening that just a child had heeded his summons, but Ambrus was hardly one to turn down some time with the youth of his family. She bore some familiar characteristics and a similar scent to the cousin he’d met at the passage. Similar enough that he assumed her to possibly be another of the Savante. Perhaps even another cousin.

His large head would dip in a short bow to the cub, although his eyes continued to watch her in case she decided to attack. “I’m Ambrus Savante.” he wouldn’t bore her with details of just where he fit into the family, she was likely too young to even know who his father was. And if she did, he didn’t know if the significance would even matter to one so green.

Stranger. That little voice within her mind echoed. Protect. Guard. Stand strong. Another voice whispered. As if a single cub could be the guarding force to drive away all threats. One day. One day she would stand as they did. Would stand beside the Blood Mother, at her command. She knew that much and moved as such, even when she was more legs and paws. Well, mostly paws, since her legs had just as much catching up to do as the rest of her body.

There was another tug in her mind and her gaze narrowed. Not the inquisitive look a child was giving but something closer to a warrior sizing up an opponent. Not a shred of curiosity in those cold eyes. Not in the way she prowled towards him, circled him. Not a delicate little princess but also not quite a vicious huntress yet. Not fully a beast of shadows but certainly becoming one.

He didn't let her wait for too long before he introduced himself, though she hadn't deigned to grace him with an answer to his question. Fluffy ears flicked as she found herself a spot that was slightly higher than the normal ground, like she'd seen others do often enough. And there she sat, giant paws neatly placed in front of her, fuzzy tail elegant curled against her side and draped over her front paws. The picture of a prim and proper princess, though cold eyes gave a glimpse at the growing beast that stalked the edges of her consciousness.

"Family, then," she stated calmly. A youthful voice still, yet not quite that of a child. Dark, yet melodic. Something that on a grown lioness might one day be bordering seductive but on the girl was just that, a dark melody. "I am Véres, princess of the Hollows."
