It’s no surprise to see his father fighting - not at all. When Leonidas arrives, that’s the first thing he notices: the titan colliding with not one but two enemies. It’s too late to involve himself. He’ll only get in the way, and he swallows down the fear that comes with the distant, foggy memories of his childhood watching Scorpius recover from a bloody battle and poison. If anything drove his interest in herbs and healing, it was that. Sitting quietly while his mother tended to the sick and injured.

But such things are not an heir’s duty.

He cannot help his father, so his gaze quickly scans the rest of the battles. Some of them are more deadly than others, but most are well underway and nothing for him to get involved in without an order to do so. He moves quietly, quickly, around the outskirts. And then he sees a mass of purple and white fur, battles around him, a second before he hears it -

"Please! Stop, please! Magdalena, I love you!"

He’s never heard Dominic sound like that. Desperate, raw, terrified. It rips at his heart almost like a physical sensation, and Nidas staggers to a stop. Uncertain and hesitant - but only for a moment. The strange, painful sensation is shoved down - down, down with every other unwanted feeling he’s ever had. Leonidas moves to the prince’s side without a word, seeking to press his shoulder into Dominic’s in a show of silent support. His eyes remain averted - locked on the fight of the two girls he does not know. But @Dominic knows them, at least one of them. He loves one of them. Nidas can’t imagine how watching this fight feels for him.

Maybe something like heartbreak.

She is doing what she can to get @Matthieu off of her when another comes charging up grabbing her left wrist in his jaws and shoving her crown into the dirt and exposing her throat. Icefang snarls, saliva flying from her lips at the sudden intrusion. The voice of Temero rings in her ears as her grandson flies in to her newest attacker. Despite bailing on him initially, the queen does not feel bad especially noticing that he is able to engage into another fight. Using her free right front leg, Icefang swings blindly in Remi's direction attempting to slice her claws anywhere at his face in hopes of being released. Once he was away from her and she managed to get him she'd make him regret messing with her. Then she would retrieve her daughter and haul her ass out of here.

she's trespassing, but so are most of these lions tangling into a damn war that she is no longer privy too. faustine dieudonne knows wars, even if she has yet to participate in them, and she knows that her blood sings for the melody of clashing teeth and ripping flesh. the only misfortune to her is that she knows nothing of her family, or pride's, participation in this war. then it should be better for faustine to sit this one out lest a poor meal comes to her first. yet, the itch in her haunts her and the cannibal daughter cannot just sit. she must move, must stalk the throbbing shadows and meet the gaze of someone who's just as ready to strike.

This bloody war wasn’t something he personally wanted or would have picked but at least it was good to know who he couldn’t trust now. Eyes narrowed at the stinky lioness. He could taste her between his fangs and he relished the flavor. It was intoxicating. He had always enjoyed the taste of his enemies blood. This fight was different than the one he had back in the Brook with the yearling. That was training. This was real. Grunting he snarled as he felt her fangs bite into his back leg just above the knee. The hot sticky sensation of blood trickling down his leg fueled his rage. This started out as him trying to imprison a pretty rogue but now it was personal. Shifting the male attempted to use his weight and collapse his body. Attempting to crush her head under his weight.

Her attention shifts quickly, ever the watchful huntress. A small blur of abyss fur comes flying at her unneeded ally and this is all she needs to know. It is a mistake on the part of the small one. Foolish small creature!

She intends to punish for it.

As @Maven flies towards her half-lion ally, Ragnhild attempted to bowl into the both of them, hoping to knock them apart with a mighty swipe of her paws. Far easier than trying to wrest them apart, she thinks. Little cats have sharp, irksome teeth. Far better to push them a part before she tried to crush their shared foe.

Nothing will get in the way of her hunt.

Despite snapping jaws and flying claws, Moradin does not slow down. Zagrius huffs in frustration as he continues to run after the male, but his sides are heaving as he struggles to keep up. "Stop!" He commands, lacking all the control of his father as his prey darts to the right, the prince skidding in the sand before pivoting to follow. He is running out of stamina and can only hope that this last move is enough to trip the male and send him tumbling, so that the boy can hold him down to prevent his escape. One paw reaches out in an attempt to hook around a back ankle and cause Moradin to lose his balance and give up his desire to leave the battle field.

Oh, but Luther was a talker. He loved the sound of his voice more than anything in this world, and he would’ve talked Rohan’s ear off, insult after insult, each digging deeper like a dagger in his back, if Rohan was not more keen on proving his boyish worth. Or perhaps it was simple jealousy that drove the younger man. In any case, Luther obliged.

After all, he loved violence second to the sound of his voice.

His laugh turns to a snarl. Luther’s forehead meets its mark, and Rohan’s teeth scrape painfully against the flesh, tearing it open and hitting the bone. The pain rattles him, a dull ache drumming now and blood streaking down his face. He struggles and finally rises on top of Rohan. With sadistic satisfaction, his jaws snap and seek to wrap tight around Rohan’s throat, aiming for the kill with a butcher's delight. The world will be no different without another nameless son.

Rohan’s back feet kick into Luther’s belly, claws tearing the soft flesh there. He almost hurls right over his foe from the impact to his stomach and the pain of his torn belly, knowing full well that this position should not be kept forever, lest he spills his guts on the sand below.

He has built up a little distance and Moradin has room to run now. Unfortunately with his turn he's now not going immediately in the right direction, and he begins to try and angle himself back the correct direction of the Mire. Continuing to try and maintain his pace through the sands. Thankful right now for the time spent in the Cove so that this wasn't entirely impossible. But eventually the other lion catches back up to him and there's a claw catching into his ankle. Moradin stops. Abrupt and without warning, hoping that the sudden application of breaks might disorient this lion long enough that then when Moradin picks the pace back up he can make an uninterrupted exit.

The Noble did not respond. Someone else did. The growl reached her pointed ears as she looked up, head swinging to the right to look up at the sandy colored man with the dark brown front paws. Her ears twitched, flicking forward and back as she crouched slightly, as if ready to run if needed. Or attack. Either way. This was not supposed to happen. The man rushed forward and she staggered back, lips curling in a warning. His words would stop her though, his voice was low and filled with sorrow. How…poetic. He needed her to stay with him and her head tilted to the side, about to ask why. He was from this place- going by his scent, but she was not aware this was enemy territory.

Not until she heard her mother. The possessive tone she took as she hissed and launched herself from the rock towards them. Oh shit. She thought, flattening herself to the sand, but her mother stopped, just shy of Sarai, putting her in more danger as paws went flying. The girl scrambled, trying to get out of the way. The man called for help and Sarai growled softly, very unlady like indeed, but she listened as the man accused them of taking from him. It sounded like excuses. Icefang made much more sense, her scolding tone causing Sarai to nod in agreement. It was downright rude to separate a mother from her child.

He pleaded, trying to bargain with something he had not even won and she huffed. She was not a pawn to be used! She was about to protest, when a mouth pinched her scruff, tugging her away from her mother and the fight. "GET OFF OF ME!" She screamed, thrashing as best she could as she was dragged by another lion. "Don’t put your filthy mouth on me, I am a lady!" She snapped, scolding @Remi in the cutest but most serious voice she could muster for such a young cub.

Before anything could happen further, her mother had won and was bellowing for the man to get off of her and her new captor was launching at her mother. She did not like these Lagoon lions, they were most…uncivilized. As her mother and he fought, she looked back to @Aymond her nose wrinkling with a look of disgust. He smelled different but…she had been dragged to him so she assumed he was with the Lagoon lions. Brushing the sand off her coat, she huffed softly, and then lifted her head high. "If you will escuse me. I going…over there…where it doesn’t stink." She gave him a pointed look with her piercing blue eyes before wobbling off to the sidelines, in the shadows of bushes where she hopefully wouldn’t be noticed.

I think... no one knows what Maua might do, he replied. Perhaps they have a sense of humor similar to myself. Or perhaps she would refuse to become a ghost due to her beliefs. Whether or not that was even possible, he hadn't the slightest idea. Go ask a more knowledgeable guardian than he. There were plenty of them.

It is good to see you as well, he admitted. In the absence of his own children, part of him had begun viewing the Hodari youth as his own, in a way. Well, more like his grandchildren since he'd been rather old at the time, but he had in fact been there for their births. Why their mother... Faelyn, right, had tolerated his presence, he'd never known.

It's always family, isn't it, he commented. Couldn't just be two strangers. No, it had to be one you knew. And what is the cause of ah... all this? he asked, gesturing with a paw at the chaos that surrounded them. Apparently he should be paying more attention to the land of the living, because there was quite a hell of a lot going on.
