(Please note Rose is at the pride borders, not fully inside. For @Aphrodites, but if someone has reason to show up and see who’s creeping feel free.) Lorien Plains, Rose hadn’t even known this pride existed before the meeting Miaran had summoned them too previously. It was strange now to find herself moving under cloudy skies farther from the coastline towards the strange pride’s borders. Yellow eyes scanned all around her as she moved to where the scent of strangers grew stronger. She didn’t want to be caught off guard and cause trouble - she was there on a relatively friendly mission. Comfortably sure she was at the right place she let out a chuffing call - hoping her queen @Aphrodite would be there as Miaran had said. Miaran had told them her version, but she wanted to hear from the ink clad woman her own side of the story. Plus, if she were lucky, there’d be some cubs to meet, but only if her previous queen was feeling generous. |

Summer
Summer is in full swing now, with clear skies, warm nights, and ample sunshine! As such, the deserts begin to grow dry, the shores remain a blissful escape, the north is spared with cooling winds, and humidity continues to rise in the jungle. Rain and storms are long forgotten troubles by now, which is both a virtue and a vice during the heat of the season.

Since Skjol's arrival to the Plains (vague on things) Aphrodite had been prepared for many more visitors to come. To see if she had really left the Cove and perhaps hear her side of the story. She didn't know Miaran's side - nor cared to - but here she was, being summoned once again from the Plains borders and as she got closer she could smell the Cove once more. It was a female this time and Aphrodite was cautious as she got closer and could see that it wasn't Miaran but @Rose. The story teller she had just promoted before leaving and there was a sort of guilt that started to rise in her chest. She had enjoyed the woman's company. Rose, it's always nice to see you. She would begin but she knew why she was here. Why she was really here.

Uncomfortable anxiety began building in her as she waited. What if someone other than @Aphrodite came across her first? What if they weren’t exactly friendly? Rose hadn’t been in a fight before, not a real fight anyway. She wasn’t exactly eager to add a scar to her pelt, regardless of the stories she could compose to go with it. Thankfully it was a familiar voice that greeted her as the ink colored woman appeared before her. An audible sigh escaped her as she smiled widely, Queen Aphrodite! she called out in greeting, dancing in her front paws in excitement for a moment. You are whole! Milano and Khadija vouched for Miaran, but I needed to see for myself. she explained, and you’ve had your little lions! she noted happily as she took in her figure, much less plump than before. Khadija just had her little lionesses too. How fair your children? Do the lions here treat you well? she had so many questions. Bard +5 gossip about another character (1/2) |

@Rose exclaimed her name, and the title she no longer wore, but it brought a small smile to her face as she moved closer and practically stepped on the border to bump her nose against the woman's shoulder. And then she was speaking about Aphrodite being whole and the black lioness would tilt her head at Rose in a slight confusion. Do explain? She would ask before chuckling, Yes they are a little over two months now. And I'm happy Milano and Khadija had their children to. Is she healed and well rested? She would ask before hearing the questions that were thrown in her direction. My little ones are doing well, and yes they do so far. But she wasn't going to stay for long.

It was like a weight had lifted off her shoulders seeing her firmer queen doing well. A deep sigh escaped her as the other woman’s nose brushed her shoulder in greeting. Tangible proof that she was indeed still walking the mortal plan. Miaran called a meeting and confessed to murdering her own children and husband, if she was able to kill her husband and own children I was worried, well maybe she wasn’t being completely truthful to where you’d gone? she admitted, feeling a bit sheepish and near traitorous saying it out loud. I was foolish I see, but I’d rather be the fool if it means you’re whole. she might not have really known the lioness before her all that long, but she felt a sense of loyalty to @Aphrodite that she really didn’t to Miaran. She felt more loyalty to others in the pride over the sovereign even. The scarred woman scared her though, and she wasn’t eager to cross her. Conversation shifted back to the new array of children in the world and her mood brightened. Two moons old already!? she shook her head worth a short laugh, Time goes by so fast! If you need a break I’d be happy to entertain them with my stories, no matter where your home is. she offered. They are all well, Milano is going to have his paws full though, four daughters. I’m sure there’ll be plenty of drama in a year or two. he was going to be beating off suitors left and right. I’m glad they treat you well here, is it, uh, a permanent change then? she asked, hoping not all that deep down that it had been just a temporary plan while her children were so young. Aphrodite would listen to what @Rose had to say and in truth, Aphrodite was a bit shocked and surprised that Miaran had found out this information so quickly. So easily. Well at least she came out with that but it took me leaving for her to tell any of you. She would grumble, ears twisting on top of her head as she would chuckle darkly. She had wanted to tell the majority of those members of the Cove, especially Milano but had kept the secret regardless and found the guilt still eating her alive. She hadn't wanted to put Miaran into a bad light but now that she had done it herself did it really matter? I'd rather you be a fool than believe someone so easily. She would state.
You and any of those I became close to while living in the Cove are welcomed to come and call for me and the children. I want them to know who you are. And she did. Ears twisted on top of her head once again as she would listen then to the very last question. It is temporary for now, until I can figure out something. As much as she wanted to tell Rose what she was planning, she didn't want it to get back to Miaran and she know. Pyrrha had fallen victim to the poison Miaran had used, and she didn't want that.

In truth she didn’t know enough about Miaran to judge how the revelation she had presented at the meeting made her feel. She knew she despised the idea of a lioness murdering cubs, especially her own. She hoped there was more to the story - gods how she hoped there was more! What could excuse the killing of babes through? Naught came to mind, and the way @Aphrodite had fled from her own wife for the safety of her children made her doubt that if there was more to the story, it would make it any better. Her face had grown a bit downcast as she thought, but brightened instantly at the idea she could still come to call on her queen - and that she wanted her cubs to know the cove lions still. Oh yes! I have many many stories to tell them! I can tell them about the sea sirens and the time I fought off a sea elephant! she declared. Both stories were of course carefully -flavored- in their details, she definitely didn’t run away screaming down the beach and get laughed at by a dwarf lion. Nope. Her grin widened as Aphrodite told her it was temporary. Oh course, you must do what’s best for your children. This news makes me happy though. she beamed, digging her claws softly into the ground beneath her in excitement. In the meantime we must make sure you’re taken care of. Are they feeding you enough? Do you need me to bring food for you? I can bring it right here to border. she offered, moving her yellow gaze to examine the black lionesses figure. She she hoped they were feeding her enough. She had cubs to feed too, how many though she didn’t know. How many new little lions do you have? I’ll bring presents! she declared. |

Thankfully the talk about Miaran was left on silence and Aphrodite's children were brought back up to the light. She could see the excitement that erupted from @Rose's features when she began to speak about telling them stories and it brought a smile to the inky lionesses features. I'm sure they will enjoy every bit of that story. She would state, even Aphrodite wouldn't mind hearing that story. However, those were stories for children and even if she wanted to hear it, it would have to be another time and day where they could all sit down and enjoy their time together. And then it went to her own health and Aphrodite chuckled. I am doing fine. I'm being well-fed, so are the children. She would state, chuckling again before shaking her head. There is four. Two girls and Two boys, so an even amount I would think. She would admit, chuckling.

She looked at her for a moment longer as @Aphrodite assured her she was being fed enough, taking another moment before nodding, satisfied that she agreed the new mother looked healthy enough given everything she’d gone through recently - bring in life into the world while having her own life turned upside down. When the fact she’s had two girls and two boys was spoken Rose’s grin returned. Two of each! That’s a lucky thing! You’ve named them all yes? she asked. Pretty sure that at two months they all definitely already had names, she just didn’t know them yet. Maybe one day the son and daughters of Aphrodite would have a story or two of their own to star in? Bard +5 make someone laugh (1/2) |

@Rose seemed excited about her children and Aphrodite would chuckle at the excitement that erupted from the woman before her. I do have names for them. Lyros, Ismene, Remnant and Azriel. Surely Rose could figure out which names went with the right gender. Ears twisting on top of her head as she waited. Outside of Ghyslaine, Hanneth, Reti and Zinnia - Rose was the only one to know of her children's names. And she was going to trust the woman before her and hope that perhaps she won't pass on the information to anyone in the Cove. Aphrodite did miss those in the Cove but she was trying to be discreet here.
