She should be used to it by now, the hunger that came with the long trek from the desert to the rainforest. She had figured that it was finally time to visit her mother, since her move to the gorge had been almost six months previous.... how time did fly... but the hunger clawed at her stomach and the cold nipped at her nose and -

Oh, a hippo calf. Well, that was much preferred. Well-muscled legs carried the woman up the hill towards the hunting party, the promise of food she could actually stomach turning her loping gait to more of a feral sprint.

Already engaged with the lions, Andraesa figured that this would be an easy meal. Tokenly, she offered a few snaps to the calf's backside, hoping to move it towards the several Hollows-smelling lions that had pooled together to take the thing down.

Storm watched as more lions joined the hunt, a few who she recognized but most who she did not. The calf seemed a slippery sort, and Storm increased her speed to bring herself back up to the heels of the prey. She'd let herself move towards the back of the hunting party, taking an even pace to conserve stamina, so the others could get hits in, but now she aimed to take a strike again.
She hoped to to bring this hunt to a close, and perhaps introduce herself to the hunters she did not know.

Despite the lethargy that was melting through the other lions like the quick sand far to the west, Tessarion was putting forth maximum effort in an attempt to at least finish this off for them. If anything, she had enough energy and adrenaline to last her for several days and thus put every bit of her muscles to good work. Stretching out her legs in a long gait and keeping her eyes focused primarily upon the calf while also keeping her peripherals in mind, she dove in to try and latch herself onto the calf as it cried out for its kind to come assist it. Though, as far as she could tell, there were none nearby to heed its frantic call.

Ah, they had done it. And now they all had some food for right now or to take back to the pride. Which was what she planned to do because she knew the Hollow had plenty of mouths to feed, many of which couldn't actually hunt for themselves. So she patiently waited her turn to step forward and take a chunk of the catch, as big as she thought she could and still be able to get back to the Hollow with it. She might not have been a small lioness, but it was still a ways to go and carrying something at that. Better to take a bit less and make it than take more than she could carry.

Oh wow, maybe their cheering had helped! The group had managed to bring down their quarry at least, regardless of whether or not it was because of them. They were going to say they'd helped for sure. Obviously with the whole chasing after the prey thing, but beyond that as well. It made them feel better to believe that, so they would. And now they had to decide what to do with their portion. They didn't have a pride to haul it back to at the moment, so they didn't want to take a whole lot, but they also didn't want the catch to go to waste either. They decided to split the difference and take just a little bit more than they thought they would eat, so that they could have breakfast tomorrow as well.

Storm pulls back from the prey as the last hit is landed and it falls dead. She wasn't actually hungry and was not planning to return to the pride just yet so she did not move in to claim a portion. Instead, she looked to the others, particularly the lion who'd initiated the hunt.
"My name is Storm and I'm of the Hollows, may I ask your name?" She inquired of @Milano. It surely couldn't hurt to try to meet some lions from the other prides, good relations might come in handy later. She stretched her limbs as she spoke, she didn't want them to cramp up as she continued traveling later.

The hunt was a success and had a decent amount turn out to help. Once the prey was down he panted coming to a halt and gathering near the beast. Head lowering he prayed to the Great Huntress and gave thanks for the protection in the hunt. As well as promised the beast that it’s death wasn’t for nothing. He would have then taken his part and left however he was being spoken to. Smiling at @Storm he nodded his head to her. "Nice to meet you. I am Milano Huntsong Lead Hunter of Caladan Cove." He returned the introduction given to him with one of his own.

The lion, @Milano, introduced himself as the lead hunter for the Cove. Storm realized she possibly should have given her rank as well, but Barony was not a significant rank so it probably didn't have to be mentioned.

"Caladan Cove, that's the ocean-side territory is it not? How is it faring with the autumn weather? The beaches I grew up on had many rains during the change from summer to winter." She asked, excitement creeping into her voice. She looked briefly at the others who hadn't left yet, hoping they did not feel excluded from the friendly conversation.

Now having assisted these strangers in their glorious success of a good hunt, she fell back into the background as she normally did. Content to simply watch them engage with one another while she resumed to be a fly on the wall. A characteristic trait of hers that she seemed to fall into with a certain unhinged steadiness. As though she were truly born to be invisible to the masses or, in some cases, so visible that she was all that they saw. Thankfully it was the former in this new land and it felt the most comfortable. So Tessarion walked quietly to her clove pile that she had hidden away and began to work once more. Taking parts of the plant nearest her apart carefully and with ease, hoping that she might be able to save some of this for the right occasion. exit tessarion
