Autumn by the seashore was a new experience for Rose as she strolled along the waters edge. Heck everything by the seashore was a new experience for her, she’d been there less to a full moon cycle after all Or had it been slightly more now? It all sort of began to blend together when one lived in paradise didnt it? She was so lost in her own thoughts she didn’t notice @Milano as he waited ever so patiently in the water. It wasn’t until a fish smacked against the side of her head did she snap out of it. Shaking her head she quickly accessed the situation, eyeing the fish as it flopped, trying to use it bounce off the side of her face to give it advantage to escape back into the water. Whaa? Oh no ya don’t!she declared as she stomped a heavy paw down on the slipper creature, digging her claws into the sand around it to pin it down as it’s struggles slowly began to subside. Looking up she finally noticed Milano, assuming she must have gotten in the way of his throw. Sorry about that friend. Don’t worry though, I got it!she reassured him as the struggle finally stopped and she moved her paw away. a fine day for fishing then?she questioned. |
She shook her head, quickly putting aside his comment about being at fault. Not at all, not at all! You’re our mighty hunter, simply working to provide for those who cannot provide for themselves, and I’m but a simple lioness.she bowed with dramatic flair, attempting to diffuse any potential embarrassment on either of their ends. At the offer to join him she hesitated, looking down at the water, I have no qualms with a good swim, I’m sure you know that.she said as she recalled their first meeting where he’d warned her out of the water, but I must admit- I’ve never fished before and would only be a hinderance.she admitted, waiting for him to declare that she should probably stay on shore then- although she wouldn’t be opposed if he were to offer to teach her how to fish. |
A content rumble ran through her as he laughed heartily, happy that their newest meeting wasn’t about to be marred irreparably by embarrassment for either of them. Humility is becoming, but you must also accept credit for the great role you play.she offered another smile before dropping the subject. Now it was her turn to be humble, a blush hidden behind already blushing cheeks. I do have many stories to tell, and many more to write. It was her turn to laugh as he mentioned sharks Well that is lucky for us then isn’t it? Maybe my sharkslaying friend drove them all away.she suggested with another laugh as she remembered the man she’d met previously who’d lured a shark to its death with his own blood. She began to ease herself towards the water, alright then, how do I get these fish from here to there?she questioned as she waded up next to him, gesturing from the water to the shore. @Milano |
Lavender coat, thicker and fluffier than most as it were, began feel heavy as the water soaked into it, pulling her paws down toward the sand with a sensation of being sucked beneath the waves. Fortunately try as it might the sea could not take her fully as she came to stand a short distance away from @Milano. Even trying to focus on the task of learning to fish she couldn’t help but let a wide grin spread across her face at the mention of his wife, Ah, I’d be delighted to spread word of your harrowing deeds back to the missus!she offered him a wink. She’d be sure to make him look real good, romance was something worth cultivating. At the mention of her “friend” the sharkslayer (a man she admittedly had met only once) she nodded vigorously, Oh yes, Skujol the Sharkskayer! Between the two of us, it was quite the impressive beast he dragged from the sea! Makes me wonder what he was trying to prove.she gossiped with a quick giggle before forcing herself to mimic his movements and follow his instructions, standing as squat and square as she could as the sand sifted and slipped beneath her. She was mildly successful, although she still swayed with the tides. She couldn't help but crack another smile as he laughed and began to describe his mate. She was a hopeless romantic at heart, and couldn't help but swoon inwardly at seeing someone so in love. She'd have to seek out this lead medic and see just how much in love the woman was. Judging by the way @Milano melted and gushed about her she expected this Khadija would be much the same. Plus, she'd always had an interest in the medical arts second only to her love of adventure and stories. The knowledge of what herb or plant could be used to heal or harm truly was an artform in itself, and she was a purveyor of all arts, not just those spoken. As Milano's mood soured at the mention of Skjol faltered for just a moment. She rather liked the fellow, he'd been interesting and she liked all things interesting. Quickly putting the smile back on her face she let out a laugh of all things, You? A pet! Having someone bring you meals while you laid around looking pretty - I'm sorry my friend, but you don't strike me as the type to make a good pet. Skjol must have had you confused with someone else, or the shark must have taken more of his blood than he realized and starved his brain of oxygen for a moment there. She shook her head You seem more like me, prone to wander where life takes you.She said. In his case he wandered where the herds were, while she followed tales and legends and anything beautiful and exciting. Almost as if on cue the sands began trying to suck her down again and she wavered on the water for a moment. As she caught her footing once more she was startled to hear a splash next to her. Quickly whipping her head around to see him better her mouth fell open slightly, letting the taste of saltwater splash her straight in the face. Another one! Splendid, splendid! Milano the mighty fisherman! She sang in praise before turning her attention back to the water in front of her, staring at it to see if a fish would come up to her - if she could only stop wavering and slipping against the sand.
